This may be inapropriate to say in light of so many deaths and distruction in the area, but to me it is fascinating to see the wave patterns set up in the fountain by the vibration of the earth. I don't know much about earthquakes, but seeing this tells me that though the strength may have been changing, the frequency of the shaking must have remained close to the same throughout the event. Very interesting! Thanks for posting!!!

Actually, this is how tsunamis form, and this is a method of studying them and seeing what landforms will be affected by it.

Obviously, wave kinetics is very highly observed, and not to mention prevalent, esp. since the 2006 tsunami in SE Asia.

...wish I had the money and physical ability to go to college and study this kind of thing(study lots of things actually). It would be fun to learn about things, and perhaps be able to come up with something which could save lives or have a positive effect on the world.

yeah. even though i know what earthquakes do, i've always been fascinated by them, and i wish i could find the time to go to school and study them. it was something else to watch and notice the patterns in the water from the earth moving underneath it.
