"one of my favorite guitar solos in rock&roll"??? I have written "one of my favorite hammond organ solos in rock&roll!!" jon lord's riff are fucking orgasmic!!
I'm not going to complain about Ian singing along the solo because unlike all you rock superstars critics, I can't do that. And I thought it was awesome.
1380 saben de buena musika y son rokceros y 33 no saben nada de buena musika y son regetonteros.muy buena rola una de mis preferidas de este grupazo y el solo uno de los mejores para mi aparte de child in time y burn
I don't care how old these guys get, they were and still are the greatest rock band ever. When Ian Gillian (lead singer), Ritchie Blackmore (lead guitarist) and Jon Lord (organist) found each other, they were a match made in heaven. Those guys are awesome together. They were definately ahead of their time. I came up with and live for the 70s rock bands.
@rethion I find that bit painful yet hilarious to watch. Don't get me wrong, I love Purple, and Gillan is an amazing vocalist. But me and my mate call this clip "The Gillan-diddle clip". heh heh!
All the people that are making comments about the guitar solo are just FUCKED!! This guy does a GREAT job on the AXE. He is what rock and roll is all about.
Hate to say this (hell I grew up w/ the Made in Japan version of this song) but between the obvious improvement in sound quality and Morse's beasty playing this version kicks the pants off the original.
Notice a definite lack of frigging pedals, kids! Yep I'm your gramps buddy the bassist guitar player from the 60's!!!! We had a Fuzztone and then the wah wah came out by Thomas Organ. That was it. I had a Mustang bass and a P-bass with an old Alamo tube amp with 2 12s. Guitarist played an Esquire through a Fender Super with 4 10s. We had 2 Altec Lansing "Voice of the Theatre" A-7 boxes with a bass reflex driven by an 18" and big horn on top that blew diaphragms like girls do Steven Tyler.
HEARINGNTHIS TAKES ME BACK TO WHEN I SAW IN CONCERTM IN THE EARLY 70'S (AROUND THE TIME "FIREBALL" WAS OUT) STARTED THE CONCERT OFF WITH THIS VERY SONG. REMEMBERED IT WHEN I BOUGHT THE "MACHINE HEA\D" ALBUM (EARLY 1972) LIKE THEN "IN ROCK" ALBUM IS A TIMELESS CLASSIC.
