Help me out a bit here "thenews". Why are tankcars up front more dangerous than say a boxcar? Why are tank cars in the middle dangerous than lets say a load of scrap?
wow hes really flying all right the units on this train werent very common were they? i've thruthfully seen CSX trains going about 60 mph in my area its pretty common for that speed notice how the middle unit was all clean compared to the SD 50's nice video again dude i know how that feels when its like a tornado!!
It is a little scary sometimes. We were as far back on the platform as we could get. Sometimes you can't tell how fast they are going until they are right next to you.
Thanks, this train was really like a wind storm going by. It should pass your way before dark most nights right now. I caught this one at 7:45PM at the speed he was going he would be in Brunswick by 9!
quite an average speed for our freight trains

To see some beautifully-maintained stock and a nice clean ROW, search on "trains Japan".

Sadly, with the economy the way it is, CSX's train lengths have drastically shrunk.
drivethrubuddha 2 years ago 4
Just about everyone's train length (or frequency) has dropped dramatically.
It'll come back though. Eventually.
charlieb640 2 years ago
Yeah, but now with the economy growing again, it is likely they are longer again.

Tank cars carry liquid chemicals that are sometimes flammable, combustible, poisonous, corrosive, and explosive.

Freight Train Max Speed is 50. Intermodal can run 60 on CSX. I'd say that's close to 50. Nice video!
