the last line of SALVATION RAINING DOWN ONE MORE TIME, is quite scary that this song was written in the 80's but applies to our current set of circumstances regarding the housing and auto industries.
This is the definetive version of true Aussie rock. Seymour has a belter of a vocal range, one of the greatest modern Australian singers around. The first rock concert I ever attended was the Stranglers when I was 15 and these guys supported,I''ll never forget that night.
@leesmartin Rephrase part of that... Hunters and Collectors, are Aussie yes, so are Crowded House. They formed in Melbourne after the break up of Split Ends... get your facts straight.
Love it! Jack howard - The trumpet guy, taught me trumpet for 7 odd years when i was at skool! Such a legend! We used to play some whack shit with him haha! He didn't talk about HC mmuch
agreed :) im not meant to say that though... they were abit before my time but so many great memories attached to there songs and they were just awesome ...
Ah, but the words in the verses are the important things, as this song is a complex social commentary on the Australian scene in the early 1980s. If you want the body to be a bit more melodic, check out the studio video, which is a bit more that way, as well as having a bit more relationship to the intent of the song as a whole.
brilliant song from an iconic brilliant band not afraid to say what they think

I wish the Rolling Stones covered this song.
Imagine Jagger on the vocals &
running around the stage?

H&C best ever Aussie band for me followed closely by INXS. This song I never get sick of - the chords just ache...they just ache.

god damn.
such a genius chorus, but such a shit song.
if they'd kept the chorus and revamped the rest, this song would be perfect.

Mark Seymour, Hunters & Collectors were among the best bands to come out of the 80s. I saw him last year with James Reyne, and he still rocks!
