I like VERA better. Vinegar tits was a better bitch, but she was honest. Vinegar was a better actress. Although JOAN FERGUSON was good too. But Vinegar--now she was perfection!
I tend to agree. Joan was a decent replacement and a legend in her own right; But after Bea left, the programme jumped the shark. No offense to the younger generation but the early days were classic- and what carried the show thereafter.
I think the later years were just as good. Despite what some people like to think, Bea Smith and other early characters were not the entire foundation of the show.
Prisoner wouldn't have lasted another three and a half years after Bea left if that had been the case.
Agreed. Before we could get DVDs or watch it youtube Id seen about 8 episodes with Bea and Lizzie, Myra was my first proper tog dog. SO the last 300 episodes were good enough to make me a big fan.
