  • Prety sick man :)

  • Why is it that it seems like most of the videos of Green Leakers are from Australia? Are there a lot of them there? It looks like in most of vids the trucks are in great shape.

  • Stupid Question but, how many cylinders(im new to diesel)

  • @rollinwitbigc Six... 6V53 = 6 cylinders in a V engine (instead of an inline design), 53 cubic inches per cylinder.

  • Hello, over there,...Yes Jenson said that detroits made the sweetest sounds of all the truck engines, they made real music,i liked the 8-v 71s & 92s the best,..that appears to be a 5th overdrive trans.and a 2 speed rear ? that was a good set-up here in USA for flat country but not enough for country with hills....thank you for the video from down under..Johnny B.

  • That old boy can shift sounds great keep rolling.

  • @DetroitDieselBob Haha it does sound fantastic!!! :D

  • wouldn't have to worry about any wildlife running in front of you

  • I must admit, the sound is good, but how on earth can the truckers bear this enormous noise level for hours and hours? That must be exhausting...

  • @22fret WHAAAAATTTTTT????? lol

  • that thing sounds pissed!

  • 2:33 what kind of rpms you at? 2500-3k???

  • sounds good

  • @bertrab87 6v53. is a v6

  • She sounds beautiful!

  • sounds amazing

  • Love the good old american detroit

  • Yeow, you're driving in the wrong lane! but driving well :)

  • @fastst1 I think they live in Australia.

  • @wheely132

:-) so you're saying they all drive like that? (esp with the steering on the wrong side)

another excuse to watch the video, mighty pretty looking truck and sounds bitchin.

  • @fastst1 Yes. In Australia, you drive on the left side of the road.

  • @wheely132

Just having fun wif ya, its hard to switch from right to left esp when you travel on motorcycle, hope to tour down under someday.

  • @fastst1 To you it's wrong but to us (I'm English) It's perfectly normal

  • sounds nice but does'nt seem very fast for all the racket it makes...and i bet noise fatigue is pretty bad!

  • gotta love the sound of a detroit

  • Great ghost of Rudolf Diesel, that's some serious music there :-)

  • UGGGH! R.H. DRIVE!

  • Not one kangaroo.

  • nice truck mate love that sound

  • its so weird watching you drive on the left side of the road... I wanted to move to australia about a year ago, what do you call americans over there? dingos or something? I still want to move there looks like some nice country for sure.

  • ok never mind then its in australia

  • i'd move controla to the left side i dont like the looks of it

  • the engine speed makes me think the truck is going faster than it is.. thats how screamin that jimmy is.

  • @K1ll3rM4st3r engine speed is about the same as any other diesel, just sounds twice as fast as its actually going

  • i need the scream of a turbo for me to buy a diesel

  • @wfortier502 i rather non turbo sound wise, the turbo really muddles the exhaust notes....

but non turbo is pretty damn useless power wise

  • does she have mufflers?

  • would like to have just as is... AWESOME!

  • i think it is a 65 model

  • @Knighty43 austrials are like americans with an acsent lol

  • I wood like to know what year the truck is please thank you

  • Do you have a load?

  • Wow that thing sounds GREAT!!!!!!

  • DD 2 stroke series make the sweetest noise among all diesel engines in the world.

  • what year is the truck. and is it a for ton or ten ton what thank you

  • wow foreign trucks always sound better than american trucks

  • Love the sound of those detroit engines.

  • If its all the same to you, i'll drive that tanka

  • Haha, you know how to drive this thing. Detroits need REVS, baby, and you know how to feed 'em!

  • cool

  • Great vid and truck!! Really enjoy hearing the 2-stroke Detroit scream!! Thanks guys!

  • How good is that!!!! Top work. Thanks for sharing.

  • miss trucks sounding like this!

  • detroits sound dam good

  • I woke up this morning in a bad mood...

But this truck just put the BIGGEST smile on my face!!!

    thank you

  • I love the sound of that ole Jimmy.

In fact, the audio from your videos inspired me to buy the 6V over an inline.

I now have a 6V53T which I am just about done rebuilding. I am working on a compound turbo setup, hoping to make in the neighborhood of 350-400hp...

    Thanks for the video

  • @screaminjimmy6V53T What are you installing your 6v53 into??

  • 萌え☆

  • A 2 stroke diesel sounds SOOOO good!

It reaches the 'high RPM' sound that you just can't reach with a 4 stroke.

  • knighty mate you are an absolute legend

  • I agree with Chevy 82250. It's time those bloody EPA twerps & the like, got their darned noses out of our auto & truck industries. Everything the government touch they destroy. Trucks used to sound like trucks once. It's about time we stood united, you blokes, & tell the EPA to sod off. It's a nice thought though, ain't it?

  • Love that sound! I used to drive a 5000 gal. International fuel tanker w/ the same engine.

  • Love the sound of a 2-stroke detroit.

  • A TURBO?

  • @mccrackenphillip

    6V53N!

    Joe

  • Love it! shame new trucks just dont have the bark anymore thanks to the EPA and all that crap. Long live 2 stroke diesels! :)

  • AWESOME!!!

  • HELL YEAH!

  • Where in western NSW is this, Knighty???

  • @huppypuppy coonabarabran

  • @Knighty43,

Explains why I saw your truck at the Golden Oldies TC show in Dubbo in 2008! I have a photo of the back end, saddened that the photo of the front didn't turn out properly!

    Joe

  • Put the steering wheel on the other side and bring that bad boy to America. One COOL truck.

  • uhh it would take a whole lot off re wiring just to pay lots of money to get it on a cargo ship to america dropped off in NYC and then drive through traffic to lets say Missiouri would take alot of money and time

  • ok a company i worked for had a GMC dump truck that had a 8.2 detroit non turbo and no blower it was gutless thats is what i meant and yes it was an 80's model it was an ex army corp of engineers truck

  • let me make a correction 8.2 not 6.2 sorry for the mistake

  • Comment removed

  • the 6.2 liter detroit that came in the chevy and gmc C60 and C70 yes i know the model numbers are a lil different in the GMC anyway the came with no turbo or blower the are gutless wonders

  • @outlaw3474 WAS THAT IN THE 80'S SIERRA

  • Absolutely AWESOME!! What a beautiful truck!

  • All detroits are supercharged. A 2 stroke diesel can't run without forced induction.

  • Thats not true, there are alot of N/A 2 Stroke Locomotives out there.

  • Technically yes but they all have roots blowers which forces clean air and fuel in and exhaust out with pressure, not a turbo or supercharger it still compresses the air.

  • @BlackwidowSD9 The blower (supercharger) has nothing to do with fuel introduction. And the blower is indeed a supercharger.

  • Comment removed

  • You using one of those RTO-6613s or an RT-613?

  • Great engine in a great truck.

  • This one turbocharged or natural?

  • natural,thanks for looking.

  • didnt the detroits come turbocharged like the majority of diesel engines?

  • @hennessyviper

most Detroits were blown or supercharged

  • @Knighty43 Gets up good for a non-turbo... :) I LOVE the sound of these old Detroits..

  • @Knighty43

I wonder if the 6V53T would sound just as wicked?

  • I believe most of them came naturally aspirated.

  • @Hotrodx199,

You could get these engines in all cylinder counts in either N (naturally aspirated), T (turbocharged non-aftercooled), TA (turbocharged aftercooled), TT (twin-turbocharged) and TTA (twin-turbocharged and aftercooled)!

    Joe

  • @SPUPRR it is supercharged. all the 2 strokes are

  • Awesome, Turn the volume all the way up

    and enjoy the ride!!!!!!
