  • some dumbasses are too busy flopping their chops to LISTEN......used to the haters...they so jealous...

  • fuck you, the words are good, cant you eavin appreacate the fact that this is the oginal sabbath!!

and thic came out in 2001!!

  • @stashproductions and one more thing.... i think we are intelligent people and since i didn't use any insulting words, i can't understand why are you bitching....

  • @stashproductions well i have around 200 ozzy and 100 sabbath dvds. i have many from the scream tour too, so believe me, i know how he sounds now. he has now a better voice than in the last 5years, but he can't hit these high notes he could in 2001. i think he could sing this very well in a lower key ;) by the way, if you're interested, there is a live video of this song on my channel, check it out. :D lml,

  • This one really scould be recorded for the 2012 album. This is awesome in its purest form!

  • great real sabbath song!! sad that ozzy couldn't sing it nowadays.. :(

  • @kdjdhdbdb you obviously havent seen ozzy sing lately, he sounds great, get on that bitch

  • terrible lyrics. glad this is not going on the new album.

  • @MetalMistress888 Dont be stupid, lyrics are amazing, about how there is nothing after death.

  • @ruphilin9 What is amazing about it? I gues you must be cheery company. Fuck, if you think those lyrics are intelligent, you might as well just go and slit your wrists and get it all over and done with. It contradicts all that Sabbath (i.e. Geezer) have written in songs like National Acrobat or Spiral Archtect or even Sympton of the Universe, with some sort of positive message and all the other songs that have life-after-death themes.

  • i heard sabbath is releasing a new album next year with ozzy. was wondering if this song was gonna b on it.

  • @deathailsatan On their website they said they weren't, which surprised me.

  • @blacksabfan The Osbournes was the reason they stopped recording, Ozzy and the boys have said so themselves. Geezer was moaning all the time to, but that was why. The Osbournes show blew the band apart, they were actually living and recording in the same rented house for a few months prior to The Osbournes airing.

  • Was told from Joe S. that Scary Dreams will NOT appear on the new album it was a scraped idea and only a concept. Too bad though sounds pretty good to my ears haha

  • Maybe this will appear on the new album?

  • @Skaternick911 Not according to Joe Siegler who runs a popular Sab fan site.

  • This is very 70's!

  • This is excellent!

  • I retract that statement, sounds like something off the first Black Sabbath Album. With Ozzy's low voice. :)

  • I think this is pretty fuckin cool. The key factor is Ozzy always sings along with Tony's riffs in Black Sabbath. This reminds me of something from Master Of Reality, should have been recorded.

  • THEY'RE BACK !!!

  • this is good, its sounds very old school, like they wrote it back in the 70s!

  • Comment removed

  • I thought the album was scrapped because Bill had to go to the hospital with heart problems?

  • HOLY SHIT!! I remember seeing this song live, fucking loved it!! Have not heard it since..badass!! Damn they got it put it on the new album and put it in their set again!!

  • Orzzgasm!!!

  • it sounds like theres 12 people in the crowd lol

  • great song!!!

  • Just listen to that rhythm section--Bill and Geezer moving up and down and all around under Iommi's riff. Sounds like the first album all over again.

  • @CincinnatusUSA ..Well said!

  • this shouldve been on an album

  • THEY NEED TO RELEASE THIS ON A NEW ALBUM TO MAKE UP FOR TECHNICAL ECSTACY, & NEVER SAY DIE... MAKE THIS LAST SABBATH ALBUM & JUST RETIRE LIKE AC/DC DID.

  • @wesleydeathcrow ehm AC/DC didn´t retire buddy

  • This is exactly the kind of song that makes Black Sabbath so great! Awesome stuff! I want to hear a new album that sounds like this!

  • Have you ever heard "Sometimes I'm happy" by Black Sabbath? Pretty similar, isn't it? :-)

  • @loldacz - very similar. Good pick up.

  • Ahhh, Now This Sounds Like The Real Black Sabbath!!! For Something Recorded In 2001, It Sounds Like The Early 70's Black Sabbath!!! Yes!!!

  • Man, this makes the hair on the back of my neck stand on end! If only they would do just one more album, do it like this...old school Sabbath sound, that bluesy metal feel, Iommi and his magic fucking guitar. The real Sabbath, may they live forever!

  • @blacksabfan I would have "expected" that Ozzy would have some issues with Toni rather than Geezer.

But I think even Toni said it that recording of the Devil you know as well as touring with Dio was so much easier.

  • BLACK SABBATH 2013!!!

  • @AleksandrScheffler

That´s not true. Read Ozzy´s book and you´ll know why a new classic Sabbath album was bunked...

  • @blacksabfan now that you mention Rolling Stone, I remember reading it from them, in which I agree with you.

  • actuly i just got to the jazz/bluees like solo, i dont just like this. i think it kicks ass, they NEED to release this, i read today that ozzy wants a new album or somthing like he was talking to bill ward about it, i hope they have one on a couple of conditions,

    1. geezer and bill write lyrics.

    2.dont over produce it.

    3. most important, it sounds like black sabbath from the 70's

    4.it is not rushed

    5. i has instrumentals that segway from songs like wheels of confusion/the straightner.

  • i like this. i wish there was a whole album with this.

  • is there a studio version

  • Another Sabbath reunion and new album has been teased for a few months now, For the love of all things great please let it happen and I will die VERY happy

  • @blacksabfan I heard Tony saying that the songs were good, it's just that everyone in the band had other projects that got in the way. The album was put on hold but they never got back to it.

  • wait a second -------WHO created DOOM??? --

  • Nice dark and bluesy. Great riff from Tony and good vox from ozzy. Too bad they did not record this one in a studio.

  • Love how SABBATH can still put out gold! SCARY DREAMS-SHADOW OF THE WIND-BIBLE BLACK

  • @clintbronson5 So true. A lot of less capable bands are getting back together and releasing stuff, it would be only fair if Sabbath (in original line up) joins them.

  • I think alot of the material on the last tony iommi solo would of been a great black sabbath (ozzy) album, i wish they would get over trying to continue from never say die. i mean their not the same age they were after they made that album. so how abt make an ablum that would push their careers even further and bring sabbath back to life!

  • @ibanezjunkie91 They did it's called The Devil You Know

  • I love this song. Thanks for posting otherwise I would have never heard it. This is my first listen and already i think its great. Kinda has the old vibe to it I think. excellent!!!!!

  • It may sound better if it's played faster..

  • there is no warning..... there is no sign............. no ressurection, to save man kind. there are no visions, no paradise, no superstitions, no afterlife.....WE JUST FADE TO BLACK.WE JUST FADE TO BLACK.

wont be no future, wont be no pain, wont be no satan, no one to blame. no children growing, no getting old, no old man dying, no stories told. WE JUST FADE TO BLACK, WE JUST FADE TO BLACK!!

THIS SONG COULD HAVE BEEN OFF THE FIRST ALBUM!!

WHAT A WASTE!!!SOME FINE GEEZER LYRICSt!!

  • is this Bill Ward?

  • @skyywide

Yes, and he wrote the lyrics to this song too.

  • @skyywide yes

  • I heard this song when i went to see them at the birmingham accademy england in 2001, everybody was really shocked that they played a brand new song but we all went nuts when the song ended, my first words was this sounds just like old seventies sabbath, i love this song.

  • pretty cool

  • I don't know but there are rumblings of the final album, Dio's death might be the catalyst to finally get the album done. If there's one Dio's death has done it's shown the original members that the sun is setting on their time on Earth.

  • i feel like the album would have been pretty good. such a shame they didnt release it. BUT if ozzy does want another album with the sabs hes gonna have to work to.

  • THIS SOUND LIKE THE OLD SABBATH!! BRING MORE ! COME ON TONNY!! OZZY!!! BILL!! GEEZER!!

  • Thing I like about this is that it'sa reminder of the blues and jazz roots of Sabbath and metal. It sounds very much like something Iommi would've cooked up back in 1970. Shame they didn't cut an album with this. At least we got another Dio-lineup album out of them, maybe if we're lucky we'll see another original-lineup album someday. Hey, I can dream, right?

  • I like Sabbath, but this song is very, very weak...

  • I am a huge Sabbath fan, all eras. I think this is a terrible track. It instantly sounds tired. If they ever did a new album with Ozzy, I'd be hoping for something as good a Sabotage. I'm also aware that likely my hopes would get crushed.

  • There is a possibility that they may have a reunion.

  • @blacksabfan alright thanks

  • what album is this on???

  • I'm a TRUE BIG fan of Black Sabbath, i got ALL their albums..... but i think this song is just a sad caricature of the early an great Sabbath with Ozzy. I definitly prefer listen REAL NEW songs, and when Black Sabbath take more risks and try to inovate. I'm so disappointed. Sorry.

  • @NuklearBaby This track is TERRIBLE

  • what sabbath album is this on? Ozzy sucks here. Though all Sabbath singers are good and Sabbath has more than a handfull of great albums

  • @CrushJehovah

I'm agree with you. I definitly prefer listened albums like "The Eternal Idol" or "Forbidden" than this caricature of themselves.

  • @NuklearBaby Yea i dont know about forbidden though...that album was pretty week. Eternal Idol is okay. Headless Cross album is beast!

  • they did in 2009 The Devil You Know so anything is possible, and Dio was cured of cancer

    PS Geezer kicks ass \m/

  • Um... have'nt you guys heard that ozzy is currently suing Tony? Besides, Tony's hand is messed up,Bill can't keep time anymore, and Ronnie's got cancer! If any incarnation of Sabbath recorded another album again, I might actually start beieving in miracles! ; )

  • This song's awsome, I hope they do at least one more album.

  • @PreparationH I don't care what lineup of sabbath does an album, just as long as Osbourne, Iommi, Butler and Ward do one more album and this song is on it, then they can wrap up and do Heaven and Hell with Dio or Iommi get Tony Martin, Neil Murray, Bobby Rondinelli and Geoff Nicholls back and do more things with them

  • Todally agree

  • @AleksandrScheffler

Agreed my brother. I don't care who the singer is though, so long as it's Iommi, Ward, and Butler.

  • How do you get a copy of this song?

  • Warpurlgis1, since when has Ozzy became the current singer for Sabbath 'again?' Does this mean we'll get another 9yrs of touring, playing the same dozen or so songs without as much as an album release? Cant wait!

  • This is like a farewell song to the original Black Sabbath. "There won't be no future", "We just fade to black".

  • The song is great classic Ozzy Sabbath but I hate Ozzy`s swearing he has no class and is a pos!Not to mention he has no carisma like RJD who was the best thing that ever happened to Sabbath or heaven and hell as they call themselves now.If I could puke all over Ozzy I would.

  • @SuperMetalogic I agree hearing "LETS GO FUCKING CRAZY" gets really really annoying after a while

  • @SuperMetalogic

Do you know shit about anything? Ozzy is the current singer for Sabbath again. RJD can smd. The best thing that happened to Sabbath was Iommi. RJD is way to full of himself.

  • Ozzy he is well just plain assinine his interveiw about Sabbath being no more without him is like Van Halens former vocalist David lee Roth saying Van halen is not Van halen without him.

  • @SuperMetalogic Lol I agree with you there, the only thing that made Sabbath was Iommi.

  • And you say he has no class?, LOL Whatever!

  • Back when I heard them play this on this tour, I thought Ozzy introduced it as "Scary Greens".

  • @CMoesta the idea of that made me really laugh XD

  • Gotta say this song sounds like classic original Black Sabbath. It's easy to imagine this song on albums like Paranoid, Master Of Reality or Sabotage. They had potential to do a record while they were toghether with Ozzy. Pitty the studio version of this song wasn't made.

  • they wrote a whole album in 2001 for this tour, but they released only this one song!

i hope the whole album will come out soon!

  • New Ozzy Album out real soon...be patient...LOL!

  • i wish they make the last album and world tour in upcoming future

  • Kick ass song

  • My opinion: Ozzy, Tony, Geezer, Bill, Dio and Vinnie are the only people who should have access to the name. I'd love for Ozzy-era Sabbath to make up, especially if they make more songs this good.

  • To bad this was 2001 and now its 2009, if you asked me Ozzy has had his chance since 1997... lone be hold 2005 comes around... 9 years and still no album! Night after night of dull setlists with Ozzy never hardly ever venturing outside the realms of Black Sabbath, Paranoid, and Master of Reality. Thank God Ronnie Dio is back, as much as I love and appreciate the Ozzy era, I feel that there is no way a new album will come about from Ozzy era.

  • I hate the black rain album. just my opinion.I really don't care for any ozzy album that has Zakk wylde on it.i hate that pitch harmonic thing he constantly does

  • I think he should try another guitar play, one thats more grounded...and to the point

  • Not even no more tears? I like that album. I tried to like Ozzmosis, but god that was average.

  • Ozzy and Tony should keep on playing together, they were made for doing it. And Dio should go back to Rainbow with Blackmore. Dio alone is not as good as when he was on BS and the same happens with Ozzy (although Black Rain is the very best I have heard lately)

  • that is a kick ass guitar riff and a nice guitar tone for this song

    Tony Iommi is a genius

this song can easily fit on a album and become a major hit

  • As far as Im concerned Dio never had to 'replace' Ozzy, it was a new era of Sabbath and Dio did a great job and still is doing so today. Lets be thankful Dio is not "the same as Ozzy" otherwise the band would be touring for 10 years playing the same dozen songs without as much as an album released and the reason being, in Ozzy's own words, "there was no fucking spark" when they went into the studio. Vol 4 & Paranoid are great albums, but no better than Heaven & Hell or Mob Rules.

  • what are u talking about the sabbath albums with ozzy were pretty much the start of heavy metal, when dio came in it just didnt sound good as those albums and there alot of people that agree with me

  • But a lot of people agree with Clingoid's opinion too, including me.

Here's a fact...the third best selling Sabbath album after Paranoid and Master of Reality? Not Black Sabbath, not Vol.4; It's Heaven & Hell. Keep in mind that I'm also not a believer that more album sales = better music, but some people say Ozzy's music is better because it sold more than Dio's, and that's not the case at all.

  • i say that ozzy's music is better than dio's because i prefer it, like the difference between hate and love

  • Totally agree. Interesting how there was no spark when they were in the studio with Ozzy but there was when Dio came in.

  • dio can never replace ozzy.... just listen to the new heaven and hell album... sure its good till about the 20th time you play then you just wait for it to end so you can put in Vol. 4 or paranoid.... Dios just not and never will be the same as ozzy or as good

  • ...but Dio would never sue his own bandmate for something he's not entitled to.

Ozzy is washed up. He can't make money musically anymore so now he has to resort to TV commercials, failed variety shows, and lawsuits without merit to make sure his stupid kids never have to actually WORK a day in their lives.

You fanbois need to crawl back into your mothers' uteruses and get aborted already. I'm tired of this crap.

  • Iron Man doesn't suck, what sucks is these posers who say they are Sabbath fans and they don't even know a song like Supernaut, Heaven and Hell, Disturbing The Priest, Heart Like A Wheel, Or Virtual Death

  • No original Sabbath anymore... after the whole suing business...

  • IMO its better if Dio leaves Sabbaths, he is ruining great band. It would be better if Ozzy comes backs or they break up. And I dont want to see them break up.

  • Honestly, I would rather Dio, Martin, or even Gillian continue with Sabbath at this point. Ozzy can't sing anymore at all, and has totally besmirched his name beyond repair, in my opinion. That said, will I stop listening to Ozzy era Sabbath? No, but another reunion I wouldn't want anymore. I certainly wouldn't spend my hard-earned money on that show. Maybe to see Tony, Geezer, and Ward, but it would be hard to suffer through Ozzy's vocals. It's all a moot point, though.

  • I would love Gillan to do a reunion with Iommi, Butler and Bevan after Tony and Geezer are done with Dio and Appice

  • It would be great to see Ian up there with the rest of the guys, but I doubt that will ever happen. That would be real fun, though.

  • I LOVE this song, I feel like it harkens to first-album Sabbath. Beautiful.

  • Bluesy as hell... Just the sort of stuff I've been missing from most of the late Sabbath/Iommi-stuff I've listened to.

  • IS ORIGINAL FORMATION??

  • how i wish they would have finished the album they attempted to make in 2001

  • Did Ozzy write these lyrics? Because they're not bad/cheesy at all compared to Selling My Soul or Psycho Man

  • Someone knowledgable told me once that Bill Ward actually wrote these lyrics. I can verify that, but I trust his word.

  • Oops...that should read "can't"

  • Does anyone think we will see another tour or album from the original Sabbatth line-up?

  • I hope that the original sabs do one last farewell tour. I really wish that they did record the album that they were working on. Of course they had ALOT to live up to given the first eight albums they recorded.

  • doom metal in it.. cool

  • In an alternate universe the new Sabbath album is already out

  • Hey, this was posted on the video of footage from this concert..

"ozzy osbourne and ''black sabbath'' wrote 18 songs in 2001 and so they decided to do ''scary dreams'' during their ''ozzfest'' trek. that awaited studio album may have been recorded and we don't know when it will be. i'm sure that it is coming, soon. sabbath and ozzy fans are wondering about it."

    Can you confirm this?

    Thanks

  • Hmmm that would seriously kick ass!!!! But they are working with DIo now, which I and tickled pink about. But an original sabbath line up record would make me insanely happy.

  • Great song! Why the don't record and release more new songs :(

  • I read somewhere that there exists a soundboard recording for this song. Don't soundboard recordings have a better quality? Anyways it's probably locked up in some safe somewhere.

  • There might be. Rob Dwyer took down SabbathLive, so I can't check it and give you a definitive answer. Usually soundboards do sound better, but for an audience recording, this one is really good. I have yet to hear a better one.

  • It certainly is, thank you for sharing this with us.

  • black sabbath is fuck C R A Z Y BRAZILLLLLLLLLLLL

  • it sounds like old, good, fuckin black sabbath!!!

  • On this song Tony seems to test the guitar, not to play yet

  • very blusey sounding awesome. too bad the OG line up hasnt made a new album yet.

  • Glenn Hughes came... or went to Deep Purple. He had a participation in Sabatth. By the way, a terrible phase of Black Sabbath's career.

  • Will there ever be a day Tony doesn't come up with an amazing riff? I doubt it. Just out of curiousity, does anyone know who wrote the lyrics to this song?

  • Probably Geezer, is my guess.

  • Geeezer penned all the old lyrics in the seventies.

I spose he did these too. Lots of mention of Satan and whatnot. Sounds like Geez.

  • I wonder if Ozzy contributed more than he would have in the past?

  • From interviews I've read, when the original lineup did recording sessions for the "new" album (that never came out) they would each write a little here and there. Although, I've heard that Bill Ward wrote most of the lyrics for this song if I'm not mistaken.

  • Hey, thanks for the info.

  • nothing, but NOTHING BEATS OZZY!!

  • Please.. NEITHER Ozzy or Dio can sing for shit anymore... I just saw Heaven & Hell in Detroit on the 18th of August, Ronnie's voice is shot... the absolute STUPIDEST thing that Iommi did was take DIO back in the first place... they should have kept Tony Martin so that ALL PHASES of Sabbath could be enjoyed and new songs would keep happening. Sorry Kidz but Tony Martin smokes both Ozzy and Ronnie. Hell, Glenn Hughes smokes Ozzy and Ronnie. Time for the Dinosaurs of Rock head back to the tar pits.

  • WRONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Dio is the best ever!! I saw heaven and hell in 2007.. and Dios was the fuckin´ best!! 66!!!!!!!!!!! years old.. if you search for rainbow live clips 1978.. and compare them to today.. he is still the same.. best ever!!

  • i agree but i like ozzy better, i saw heaven and hell too in 07 that show kicked ass, but ozzy and sabbath got together like bread and butter, dio is like raspbery jelly, some people love it, and some dont

  • The more Ozzy's voice deteriorates the creepier he sounds I think. Dio's still got it man.

    You're full of shit.

  • This is the clearest I've heard anywhere of this song. This really in the vein of "Black Sabbath" -the song, "Sleeping Village" and "Warning". DAmn, this should have been on Reunion OR on Last Supper DVD. love this song

  • what album is it???

  • It's not on any official album.

  • ok thx...

  • Official being the keyword there..

    Muahaha

  • I'm just glad to hear some "new" stuff from this line up. I hope eventually Tony will release the new material anyway.

  • There must be a studio recording of this and more songs. I wish they would release it.

  • Martin Popoff's Book "Black Sabbath: Doom Let Loose" pg. 36

"Lyrically the song [Paranoid] is deeper than the credit it is usually given. "I used to suffer a lot with depression," explains Geezer. "I used to go in and out, happy one day, down the next. And I was just going through a bad time at the time, so I wrote those lyrics. I just couldn't seem to get through to anyone."

    GEEZER wrote the lyrics...NOT Ozzy.

    Me 1 , You 0

  • Credit was almost always given equally to all members regardless of contribution. Just because they all have credit doesn't mean they contributed equally...but you're too much of a noob to have known that. Geezer was credited on all the songs on Heaven and Hell even though he wrote nothing. Ozzy also did next to nothing on Never Say Die, yet the whole band is credited.

Oh, and Sabbath did more studio albums WITHOUT Ozzy than they did WITH him. (Ten w/o vs. Eight with).

    Me 3, You 0

  • lol FIGURES BEING A SABATH FA IVE NEVER EVEN HEARD OF THAT BOOK... I LIKE GEEZER HES ONE ONE OF THE GREATEST BASSIST OF ALL TIME... HOWEVER IT DOESNT CHAGE ANYTHING... WHO DO U THINK PEOPLE WILL REMEMBER IN 20 YEARS...DIO OR OZZY... SO GO BACK LISTENING TO HOLY DIVER ... LET THE BIG DOGS HANDLE IRON MAN

    !!!

  • Try Google. Dipshit.

You're dangerously approaching the point of no return...

  • iron man is so over ratted and so is paranoid. the band is tired of performing them. especially paranoid. im tired of seeing them live. play some killing yourself to live or national acrobat. holy diver didnt suck too bad. people still remember dio and always will and they will remember ozzy too. keep in mind dio was in rainbow which was successful before he joined sabbath

  • Iron Man is the most overrated song ever.

In fact, I think just because I hear it so fucking much, I will start to hate it.

Every OTHER song besides Iron Man is awesome, from SOTU, to MR, to NK, to HC.

  • I don't think this was on a album, what is this from?

Is this the like "Sometimes Im Happy" song where they only play it live?

  • It was only played live in 2001. It probably was intended for the new Sabbath album that was supposed to come out in 2002, which obviously never happened.

  • Disappointing a album wasn't released. Im looking forward to the new Heaven and Hell CD though.
