Stupid issue. So what if they were in unions? Unions aren't purely self-serving, fundamentally anti-democratic and elitist parasites like corporations. A person having been in a union can only be an indication of a higher probability of their having moral integrity, courage and intelligence. Lawyers work for people to keep the laws in order?
A few lawyers do occassionally do some pro bono work for people to help uphold their rights, but mostly lawyers work for themselves and twist every law as far as it will go. It is a complete untruth to say that lawyers keep laws in order. It is politicians who pass legislation and courts that govern over it's enforcement.

a union official works for the people in unions which today only 15% of Australians are in unions.
layers also work for the people (to keep the laws in order) and most government positions around the world are filled with lawyers
