This is a mind-blowing track from 'A Farewell to Kings'. Definitely one of my favourites by Rush. The way this track builds up, the whole atmosphere, bass lines and Geddy's insane wailing are the highlights. That guitar strumming towards the end is just mesmerising.
There is one, a video. I know there is. They recorded the whole hemisphere's album live at one point in '78, and they're on youtube, EXCEPT FOR BOOK TWO!!!. It's out there. It has to be...
I was introduced to this album (A farewell to kings) when i was a kid in Brazil. Also my first ever concert was in Salt Lake City at the Salt Palace. There i saw Rush doing Signals. I love Rush,Led Zeppelin, Sabbath and Pink Floyd. Long live Rock !!!

what the hell is this? froto with the 9 fingers goblin rock.,,,,,,yea, yea, i dug these guys to back in high school,,but cmon, im suprised they didnt come out wearing full armored gear like knights of the round table.........STONE HENGE WHERE A MAN IS A MAN AND THE CHILDREN DANCE TO THE PIPES OF PAN
this is the best version of this song. Alexs tone is gorgeous and geddy's base so hard. Love the drums, the vocals, I could listen to this over and over.
heard it live at Hammersmith Odeon hemisheres tour about 1977/78 . It was so harsh ! blacked out stage apart from the amp lights then it started mind you that was back in the Rickenbacher days no sound to match it in my opinion !
i caught these guys live five times and could never get them to do more than tease playing this. I stiil want to see them do this song in its entirety one time before i die.
yeah it is... it's off the 3rd disk from Different Stages! It's really good. The disk has songs like Anthem, A Farewell to Kings, Cygnus X-1(the one they are playing), Cinderellla Man, etc.! So good!!!!!!
E P I C... in a 1000 years, RUSH will be a legendary relic, along the lines of the writings of Homer and Shakespeare. They are as close to a religion as possible in the music world.
Gewoon geweldig!!!!

I wish there was a recording of them playing Book 2. What an awesome song, and superior to Book 1.
Although this one has some great black metal riffing in it!
