  • joanna ridley really used to like her, in fact the only reson to watch if your 12..whats she do now then ?.

  • That's it - I'm 8 watching this with my grandma - feeling totally safe and secure in a way only a kid can feel - Oh come back those days.

  • Ha LOVE IT! Wasn't Ridley a bit of a 'Wild child' back in the day? Like one of the first to be papped out and about in the clubs and the like, on this side of the pond at least.

  • The memories!

  • How wonderfull to see this opening of an old tv favourite!

I would watch this with my mother when i was around 9-10yrs old and thought Sam was so trendy!

Sad times now to see such great programmes and sitcoms like this are just a memory...Reality tv has a lot to answer for thats for sure.

  • A real blast from the past this one.Can remember it quite well was around 10-11 when it was on.A time when there was plenty of good things on the box

  • @mrmister102 Or more accurately, when you only have 3 channels, you think any old crap is better than nothing.........

  • @StanPomeray lols but your right

  • sam (joanne ridley) was the only reason i watched this programme. the bit where she is on that sun lounger really used to do it for me.

  • Ahhh, a trip down memory lane! Looking at this now, it's quite corny but I really wish they made TV like this nowadays. Richard O'Sullivan is a legend and it's so sad to see him now after suffering a stroke a few years back.

  • I shouldn't watch stuff like this. It's so depressing, when you think of all the great TV sitcoms there used to be on TV, and you compare it with what there is now. (sigh..) Gawd, I miss the 70's and 80's..

  • Oh I remember this. Friday nights on ITV

  • I love the way a piece of music can take you back and make you smile with a content joy ;)

  • I had such a big crush on Richard O'Sullivan. I used to love this. I remember those good old days too!

  • @Walliburton Yeah, the 80`s were definatetly the best years by far. I was obsessed with George and Andrew of Wham days! Duran Duran Culture Club...just proves how good these were as they are back now!

  • @Walliburton totally agree, such brilliant programmes. Just don`t make em like that anymore! why! why! why! the 80`s were the best for tv and music.

  • my first crush joanne ridley

was watching a old episode of london's burning the other night and she was in it

  • nostlagic

  • God, Joanne Ridley...what happened to her?

  • Great Song. Haven't heard it for years. Lovely TV series too.

  • A real classic 80's series....

  • I've had that theme tune in my head for the last twenty odd years. I remember watching this when I was a kid. So it really does exist and it wasn't just my imagination! Looks so dated now though but still fab!!

  • I didn't know about this.

I know it's a theme tune but I'm surprised because Peter Skellern always refused to do jingles for commercials.

  • Wow thanks for this, I LOVED watching this as a kid, it kinda bought a tear to my eye.. :)

  • Thats actually a really good tune in my humble opinion

  • me and my girl, my girl and meeeeeeeeeee awesome! takes me back to the 80s hard like WKRP in Cincinatti

  • Top drawer. Really reminds me of being a kid in the 80's. What a tune!

  • Man id forgotten all about this show. I haven't seen that intro in over 20 years but I still remember the words to it. Even though I was only about 7 or 8 I still thought the chick on this show was pretty hot. I wonder what ever happened to her.

  • Yes I remember this show from the 80's too, one of the former LWT's better productions.
