  • i play this for american youth strings ensemble and we only play up to half of the song.

  • I see the universe come into existence, collapse and come into existence in an endless cycle, galaxies forming webs of existence, culminating into a bright sphere of one, breathing calmly, endless. Myriad Multiverses, building an endless glowing carpet of possibility, people breathing under stars as they are stardust themself, in all possible sorts of existence.. Music is a magnificent thing.

  • Is it lame that I actually cried about the explanation from wushuboy26? I really wish Beethoven's life had been much better than it really was.

  • Maestro is to be forever loved and greatly respected for his great passion for creating beauty in music. This particular piece as his many others creates in the listener something different each time in listening. The passion of this piece cannot be described in words.

  • I absolutely love how into the music these people get when the climax happens. Just goes to show how inspirational Canadians are.

  • the guy at 3:41 was overcome by the music. its okay, im not even playing and i was too

  • This was also in Mr. Holland's Opus, way before it was included in The King's Speech. Both movies are great and talk about unfortunate disabilities in unlikely people: deafness in a music teacher's son and stuttering in a King. The song was used in equally moving scenes, it's just perfect.

  • 4 people didn't like THIS?!?!?! what the hell is wrong with them...

  • @Aranwulfr ...They probably clap on 1 & 3.

  • @jenbangerter Bahahahaaaaaaa. I used to make this joke with my friends all the time. You have brightened my day.

  • MIND.BLOWN

  • This peice of music...shows us how life..can change fast..or slow...it could be bad..or good. It could be amazing, it could be...anything.

  • Just realized this was playing in the KIng's Speech when the final speech is being given. Brilliant choice on their part.

  • regarding 120 beats per minute-

tempo is the realm of the performer- the notes are those of the composer this is what makes music alive- hundreds of years after the fact.

  • Amazing O.O

  • The title is wrong, this is not interpreted in Allegretto tempo. Allegreto have at least 120 bmp... its a nice performance, but I like in Allegretto better: /watch?v=4uOxOgm5jQ4

  • Yeah! Great song! The King`s Speech. =)

  • beginning at 2:45 the sound is cracking heavily.. maybe needs another sound codec

  • too slow

  • Of Gods and Men trailer.

  • So majestic and powerful... the emotions are so complex here, but it can be best described as invoking a feeling of deep contemplation.

  • The King's Speech :)

  • @Browzer89 Was this used in King's Speech? That would explain why it sounds so familiar to me.

  • @PrivateBuckwheat Yep, near the end during...well, you know! ;)

  • everytime i hear this i always get the goosebumps

  • beautiful, the tempi are taken so slowly divine!!

    madeleineo31

  • beautiful, the tempi are taken so slowly divine!!

  • Hauntingly beautiful......

  • Majestic...

  • This is great .. you need to flood u-tube with this as much as possible .... we need this ...

  • I want to punch Lady Gaga and 50 Cent on their stupid nose for making ugly music.

  • @Haaglander I like this and Lady Gaga, though obviously this is better.

  • God! Somebody get that lady a Ricola!

  • amazing!

  • this is one of the better sounding on youtube if only for the fact the subtleties of better recordings are often lost in compression (often owing to old/bad youtubing). you can hear most everything here, and sometimes just that -- and a mind to enjoy a transcendant idea -- is all you need.

  • Still my favorite piece. Nothing will ever compare in my heart. I melt during the climb.

  • awesome on three counts! one its Beethoven as it originally should be (within the restraints of reference material) second it's Tafelmusik and thirdly, my studio teacher for clarinet is in this on period clarinet.

  • Priceless.

  • love

  • my god this is perfect!!!

  • so-so

  • This is it!

This is music at its best!

    This is incredible!

  • Such an incredibly beautiful song.

  • The louder parts always give me goosebumps. I love playing the transition between soft playing and increasingly loud parts. I can feel the passion as it grows into this symphony.

  • PERFECT.... oh my god.. :0

  • At the time when Beethoven wrote this Symphony, he was 90% hearing impaired, not completely deaf. At the beginning of this movement, he keeps adding layers after layers to the melody they are all getting louder and louder. Beethoven was trying to hear this piece. He feels the vibration, but he can't hear it. At the peak of this melody (3:02), he finally heard the melody. It makes me sad to see him struggle to hear, so that's why when I play this song, I play with my heart and with deep respect.

  • @wushuboy26 Good posting. If mankind can create such art while impaired, what can we do with all our facilities? You play with respect ... music that creates respect. Maybe there is hope fo us .. keep playing.

  • @wushuboy26 This is truly my favorite work of art. It doesn't matter how many times I hear it, I always get shivers down my spine. Beethoven's 7th symphony is the reason why I love Classical orchestra's so much.

  • @wushuboy26 I don't think I have ever read a more moving youtube comment than this one.

  • i played this song with my orchestr in 8th grade. i played the viola part. it was actually a fun song to learn

  • The anguish you can fell in this song makes me cry.

  • es simplemente espectacular!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

esta canciòn me llena de vida.

  • I like it how noone claps

  • Los angeles tocaban a travez del alma de Beethoven !!!!1

  • Im going to play this before i die...

  • No, you will fail. Just like you fail at everything. You're going to wind up working at a gas station.

  • @PerennialLucidity What is wrong with you?

  • @silver1000n2

Some people are just deliberately unpleasant. Pay them no heed. It is only those who listen to their criticism that end up in a gas station.... I look forward to listening to your version on YouTube

  • I love it, So glad we're playing it, so much feeling. Love it =)

  • This was always my favourite song to play in ensemble. One of the few really powerful bass parts.

  • just beautiful..

  • Ok, the only thing I imagine when listening to this is the carnage and destruction in Boston from Knowing haha. Music can really make impressions.

  • Yeah, me too. :)

  • I don't like this performance of it. Too slow. Listen to the one with george solti.

  • o.o

    i see you

  • What are those trumpets? the really long ones?

  • trombones?

  • no, son trompetas

  • Brings a Tear To the Eye, LOL

  • its also on Knowing the movie

  • this is in the movie Knowing too now... makes the movie ten times better

  • People who cough during these performances should be dragged outside and shot- price of a bullet forwarded to their families.

  • i have always thought that... there should be bouncers in the isle's

  • lol FUnny as it may seem to be, loved your comment but coughing cant be help...

  • My FAVORITE piece of music. I love beethoven, I work in a concert hall and listen to the irish chamber orchastra regularly while at work Its glorious.

  • A beautiful piece; one of my all time favorites. Those who are around my age (50+) and interested in the science of astronomy may find this piece familiar. It was used in Carl Sagan's "Cosmos" series as incidental music accompanying his narration while on board his "Spaceship of the Imagination" when he recounted his recurring nightmare of the self-destruction of the Earth. A truly moving piece of music.

  • Intro to 'The Fall' If you havent seen it yet, make sure you do at least once.

  • yes totally! since i watched it last week, it's been stuck in my head for days! so i'm glad i found this :)

  • Haha its exact;y the reason why i looked for this piece..I saw the fall yesterday!

  • This piece is moving. If you want to hear a fabulous arrangement with vocals, check out Sarah Brightman's adaptation in Italian. It's called "Figlio Perduto" (Lost Son) from her awesome CD "La Luna."

  • yes i finaly found this piece i love it

  • this piece is like..wow...it always give me shivers down my spine

  • @Abunai07 Yea i know...

It gives me a sad feeling, but i like it for some reason...

  • end of the world (knowing)

  • lol Ya

  • @tatayudah I waited for the climax in the score, but no...

  • im playing this with the western connecticut orchestra. yay!!!!

  • i heard this on photographing fairies and think it's really moving.

  • I heard this song on a movie for the first time and it really moved me... had to look it up. Amazing piece1

  • I bet the movie was the Knowing! lol, this movement of music is simply amazing!

  • lol i did too!. well i heard it alot before (i loved it but didn't care to look it up) since my dad is into classical music, but then i thought that's it i'm looking it up once i saw the movie

  • I watched the Knowing and didn't notice this. I noticed it on The Fall though - used much more for dramatic effect.

  • At my school we have a contest thing and my group is playing this song... Not as good though....

  • Fantastic to hear with a historical ensemble, especially such a fine one as Tafelmusik. Thanks for posting.

  • Just watched the movie "The Fall" and this piece was played in the intro...was amazing! A masterpiece indeed...

  • Haha, I searched this song because of the Fall as well. A terrific needed a terrific song, right?

  • Yeah, absolutely. The Fall was incredible, and this music blended so well with it. Can't believe that movie only earned $3m at the box office!

  • The Fall was a great movie. Agreed.

  • I just watched it two days ago for the first time! Definitely a gem amongst movies today! So glad I saw it!

This music adds a lot to it! I've got my own ideas now for using this movement in my own videography!!

  • If there's a better classical piece out there, I sure haven't heard it! Gives me goosebumps every time.

  • Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No. 2 in C Minor - mvt. 1 and Ravel's Daphnis et Chloe are certainly right up there as well. These three have to be my favorites. Tchaikovsky's Symphony Pathetique as well.

  • magnificent xDD

  • Beautiful

  • This I like :)

  • one of the world's best

  • Amazing, thanks for the upload

  • my favorite interpretation of the 7th symphony (mvt 2), I knew something like this should exist. Thanks
