This is a driving, inspired performance of my favorite Schubert impromptu. Gilels does an excellent job of maintaining the momentum of the piece through various re-harmonizations of the theme. I have a fine performance on CD by Maria Joao Pires, but prefer this Gilels. Do you know when/where it was recorded?
