Dude, thank you so much for the last part of the video where you show how to take the swing bar out. Wow. So simple now. I had a terrible time before of getting that freaking thing out cause I was so paranoid I'd break the toy.

I had one of these... except it wasn't one of these. It was a Transformers "Skyfire" figure. fully transformable and all that jazz. Basically, it stole just about everything from this design.

What a difficult transformation. Thinking aboit it as if it would be a real-life combat ship, I would not work anyway. The supports for the legs and the chest seem very weak. While tranforming in mid-air from GEARWALK to BATTROID, the sip would surely break appart!!! Surely an operative real life model would not look like a humanoid when transforming into BATTROID. The design should be stronger and by indeed fatter and uglier. Guess we'll never se anything like that flying the real sky.

@narutoman876 Yes meyba, but I just saw Macross Zero, and during the first chapter there is a transformation of the VF-0 from Fighter to Battroid, I put it on slo-mo and the transformation is near the same as in this toy. I still believe that in real life, the machine would tear appart in mid-air. Well, it's Sci-Fi anyway and i love it, who cares if it's possible or not?...

thanks to that video i transformed both of my brownies to gerwalk,but when transforming back my J from battroid to fighter, i broke the nose hatche soo, i will never transfom to battroid anymore...

Yea i love the 1/60 for the detailing like opening cockpits, etc. But the transformations are a pain in the ass, it sucks the bandai 1/55 valkyries are fairly undetailed but have transformations exactly like the masterpiece collections, aka easy! The 1/48 are nothing special as well.

robotech isn't " still " macross, it is , macross, which really disoriented the series, combing it with three different series, southern cross and mospeada. so robotech was just a ripoff of macross. i just want to clear up the misunderstanding. so ease up.

mine is a vf-1s. Damn, I couldn't connect the legs to the gaps in the nose, everytime I slide the the nose cover under, the swing bar suddenly becomes unable to reach the gap. I'm loosing patience with this toy!

Yeah! I don't have one of these yet, but the videos I've seen make me glad I didn't have one as a kid. Although this one looks better in all modes, ya gotta love the Bandai version's 5 to10 second conversion time! While I'm on the subject, I've been reading that Toynami was rereleasing all the old Bandai models, but I can't find any for sale. Have you heard anything about it?

yes, transforming this is not a kid's business because it's fragile than common toys, On the good side, it's anime accurate looks and features are something a macross fan/collector will definitely enjoy.

Haven't heard about toynami releasing old bandai and I don't think so because bandai already reissued the classic and tough 1/55 scale and it's called today as "origin of valkyrie" you can get it for a cheaper price than yamato's 1/60 if you prefer it.

No lawsuit. Actually, ALL transformers were, were borrowed robots from various robot series in Japan, with a new story and namesake, and whola! You've got Transformers.

BanDai loaned the mold for the 1/55 Valkyrie to Takara/Hasbro for the Jetfire. The same happened with Omega Supreme, The Dinobots, Predacons, Diaclone, and many others. That's right. Transformers is just an orphanage of various Robot sagas.

well i knew that, but the think is, i's not all "borrowed". diaclone (which also had the dinobots in it) and microman (which some of the g1s come from) were not doing so well, and hasbro swooped in with a contract. they got the rights to use the molds and volia: g1 was born. jetfire was a totally different story

The 2.0 version of Yamato's 1/60 Valks are a HUGE improvement over the earlier releases. Arguably the very best transforming VF-1 figures ever. They're just what I've been waiting for.
