The Earth IS overpopulated.
The Environment IS suffering.
I wouldn't mind some INTELLIGENT, remedies for these problems.
I don't think Holdren or any of the other economic elitists should be in charge of that however.

I have to strongly disagree with you on your two most pointed statements.The Earth is NOT overpopulated and there is an endless amount of substantiated proof out there if one takes the time to research it. Secondly, I agree that the Environment is suffering, but to equate that with overpopulation is simply wrong.. Keep in mind that all the people on the Earth will fit in the Greater L.A. basin. Simply put you have been fooled.
@smujismuj .. it may be a matter of destructive behavior, as you are pointing out, more so than numbers... at least at this time, considering how astonishingly wasteful and destructive we are collectively. If we lived efficiently and thoughtfully our effect would decrease dramatically.. our rulers are wasteful and destructive in the extreme.. mindless greed.. and in their denial, i believe, they wish to shift the blame to us, for what they have caused, thus justifying killing us.
@smujismuj We need to transit from a consumer economy to a resource based economy, i.e., like the Zeitgeist Movement proposes; one in which available resources and their sustainability dictate what is possible. Now we live in a way to maximize profit for a few and as much consumption as possible for everyone in the first world. It's a ponzi scheme now and we're coming to the end of it.
I'll give you this: IF [huge IF] humanity was able to return to some sort of organic, naturalistic harmony with the environment, the Earth might be able to recover some of the damage humans have done. Due largely to the "success" of Capitalism, the profit motive has rendered common decency an afterthought, if it is considered at all. As a result, anything that produces profit is considered "successful", regardless of the damage it does to the ecology or our humanity.
@smujismuj If you were to do some basic research, you would in fact find that every man woman and child on this earth would fit on one acre each just here in Australia. The world is NOT overpopulated, the environment is NOT suffering apart from what the globalists are doing with HAARP, chemtrails, punching holes in our ionasphere, fracking, I could go on, so the only ones destroying this planet, by design, are them, NOT the human race. I simply disagree.
Human beings are very destructive to the environment, at least the industrialized humans.
So, logically speaking, the more the industrialized population grows, the more destruction there is.
More humans, more machines, more housing, more intrusion into the habitats of other species...
Seems fairly easy to understand to me.
