Brilliant! And what a great bass player! Fearless, and incredible intonation in thumb position (that's the "dusty" part of the bass. Up really high and really hard to play in tune section).
It's a Gansch horn. They're made by a company in Austria who makes teh Trombones that the Mnozil brass plays, Thomas is also in that group. The valves are rotors, but they're set up differently. If I played Trumped I'd sure want to try this out. If you go to teh Schragel site you can find out about it from someone who knows what they're talking about XP
I think to try it you need to go to the store in Austria. I have only seen them on one shop list in the UK but they wont stock them anymore due to the recession. If no one buys them its 2000 odd £/ Euro's down the drain isnt it? Shame though cos im desperate to try one!
Who needs to watch it's all about the music right? If you were just listening you wouldn't hear a thing. Great even if small mistakes are made. Fantastic Playing!
Now U mention it he does pull a funny face, cant hear a mistake of ne sort. Maybe he ddnt hit it as cleanly as he wanted, U gotta hav high standards to be technicians like these guys i guess.
He hesitates for a fraction of a second. Not a "big big big mistake." It can happen to anyone. I've heard world-famous virtuosos make mistakes. It's not a big deal unless you (as the performer) make it a big deal.
WOW what a musician lots of fun, great sound, great ideas great technical playing...wish he would come over to the states and tour we need to hear more original players like Thomas...to many smooth clones around... Thanks Thomas
i have been watching all your vids and have you on my subscriptions....just wanted to let you know i think u and your brass group are amazing...if you guys or yourself should ever come to vegas, let me know...im nowhere as talented as you are but still play in the brass band out here for fun.
