  • bemerkenswert

  • The Bass Player is Georg Breinschmid, in my opinion Austria's greatest jazz-bassist!

  • who is this bass player, and why is he the greatest bass player ever?

  • wow... bass player is INCREDIBLE! honestly thomas was awesome, but that bassplayer is mind blowing

  • soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo geeeeil!

  • exceptionally fine...

  • Mischievous, most musical virtuosity, Thomas - thanks so much.

  • gotta love when he throws in the melody to Cherokee.

  • Gansch showing us how to be cool as usual...the bassist is a total beast too, sick!

  • hey thomas,

    that's absolutely fantastic!!

i love that kind of music! aaaauuuh :D des is schon en hueren geili musiik doas!

  • nice double tongue

  • incredible

  • BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMMM.

  • super typen die beiden!

  • Are there 2 bridges on the double bass? Can someone tell me what is that extra thing on the bass? Nice playing!

  • It's foam that's holding the microphone

  • °o° 1:25 to 2:15 definitely made my day... soo gooood !

  • Brilliant! And what a great bass player! Fearless, and incredible intonation in thumb position (that's the "dusty" part of the bass. Up really high and really hard to play in tune section).

  • Does anyone know any information about his trumpet? i know its got a rather stange valve mechanism. if anyone could help?... :-)

  • Comment removed

  • The trumpet is called "Gansch-Horn" and is made by Schagerl (Austria).

  • It's called "Gansch-Horn" made by Schagerl (Austria)....

  • It's a Gansch horn. They're made by a company in Austria who makes teh Trombones that the Mnozil brass plays, Thomas is also in that group. The valves are rotors, but they're set up differently. If I played Trumped I'd sure want to try this out. If you go to teh Schragel site you can find out about it from someone who knows what they're talking about XP

  • I think to try it you need to go to the store in Austria. I have only seen them on one shop list in the UK but they wont stock them anymore due to the recession. If no one buys them its 2000 odd £/ Euro's down the drain isnt it? Shame though cos im desperate to try one!

  • So ists richtig immer Vollgas geben !

  • Wahnsinn.....! Geil!

  • I didn't know Cherokee was an Austrian tune! Awesome playing Thomas, I love your stuff!

  • itr's not, it was writen in 1938 by Ray Nobel. it's an American Jazz tune.

  • Just awesome...

  • is it realy you that has uploaded this video that is the member of mnozil???

  • My favorite part is where the bass player slaps the crap out of the strings at 4:15

  • Who needs to watch it's all about the music right? If you were just listening you wouldn't hear a thing. Great even if small mistakes are made. Fantastic Playing!

  • zwei viecher auf eim haufn... unglaublich!

  • trrrrruuuumpet!!!!!!!

  • Thomas, thank you for inspiring so many of us! Thank you for putting your talents out there for us to enjoy. And who IS that fantastic bass player?

  • Georg Breinschmid!

  • Thank you! I figured that out a long time ago because I love his playing as well. He has a great website with more clips of himself and Thomas.

  • Thomas - you rock! The bass player is fantastic!

  • @TrumpetYogi

    it's georg breinschmid

  • i dont think so ..

    it was great

  • I think he's referring to the bass player's facial expressions, though fwiw I can't hear anything wrong, either.

    Great piece!

  • Now U mention it he does pull a funny face, cant hear a mistake of ne sort. Maybe he ddnt hit it as cleanly as he wanted, U gotta hav high standards to be technicians like these guys i guess.

    I think they'r awesome.

  • He hesitates for a fraction of a second. Not a "big big big mistake." It can happen to anyone. I've heard world-famous virtuosos make mistakes. It's not a big deal unless you (as the performer) make it a big deal.

  • Ahhh, I've got my fix for the day

  • What a bass player. Thats amazing.

You were also amazing tommy-boy :)

  • ... yeah. That's real trumpet playing.

  • jaja thomas gansch hats drauf

ich hör ihn imma live im porgy and bess

er is für der beste trompeter..

    ganz klar

  • the best trumpet player in the world

  • The fastest even...

  • it starts with "Flügelhornzauber" by Gottlieb Weißbacher...

This is a show with the Vienna Art Orchestra...

nobody plays it as fast as Thomas Gansch...

it is on "Wenn der Kaiser groovt" by Mnozil Brass...

  • WOW what a musician lots of fun, great sound, great ideas great technical playing...wish he would come over to the states and tour we need to hear more original players like Thomas...to many smooth clones around... Thanks Thomas

  • i have been watching all your vids and have you on my subscriptions....just wanted to let you know i think u and your brass group are amazing...if you guys or yourself should ever come to vegas, let me know...im nowhere as talented as you are but still play in the brass band out here for fun.

  • thats damn schnell, man !
