I found that out... had a Hiwatt many years ago, got back to playing guitar and got one of these modeling amps that are supposed to model tube amps perfectly... played it for 5 minutes and haven't touched it since, got a Krank Rev1 on the way.

Another thing you have to know is that the REV sst is completely assembled in USA...as it says on the back of the head,while V2(that i own for 2 years)is built by chinese and sent to usa for the quality check...sorry pal,the V2 is way too bassy for a guitar head,if you plug a bass on it it willl be ideal as a bass head...sorry but no,after 2 years of Randall if you want to play it in a pro way,you'll sell it soon...see ya man.
I own a Rev 1 series but this SST is nothing compared to the Rev and the Krankenstein. The SST has to much fizz in its sound. I believe that the presence and the sweep controls are fully open here.

Your right about the preamp tubes. I have a krank rev and it came with "metaltronix" 12Ax7 preamp tubes. Which are the cheapest pieces of glass on the market. furthermore, the transformers on the kranks are shit! So now I have to upgrade all of this stuff when all krank had to do was make everything higher quality.

I think Randalls are better personally. V2 and this are basically same price (V2- £770 Rev SST- £799). The v2 wins hands down in my opinion.

Everyone knows that Krank amps come stock with Sovtek 5881 power tubes and Ruby 12AX7's.
