I was wondering if you use them for a while, will they hurt your ears after about an hour to about four hours? I have had bad experiences with headphones that have been on ear and they make my ears soar and bother me to a point of making them unbearable to wear. They were Skullcandy Hesh headphones and Dre Beats on ear (I used them for one day at my cousin's house and they were terrible). I have heard all good things about Astro headsets, I just want to know about the on ear comfort.

I haven't tried out true surround sound but the virtual surround sound is unreal - I can pinpoint people's footsteps in BF3 even though footsteps are quite soft! Bass for music is good as well, no 'whump' but plenty of 'thump' :) I got mine and they're great. I sometimes forget that they're on my head

Hi Chilla Frilla, I have a Turtle beach p11 (My 2nd one within a year :( ) and i'm hearing like poping noices while gameing which often disrtracts me, Also my cord tangles up on the headset. I got my Astro A30's and audio system a couple weeks ago and am very pleased with with the system. The only problem I have, and it is VERY minor, is the fact that the on ear design does bother my ears a little bit. I can wear the headset for a good amount of time, however every now and then I do have to take the headset off for a couple seconds to relieve the pressure on my ears. But, due to the sound quality and design of the headset I feel it is easily overlooked.

@DonBurzum You can use it with either, however the headphones themselves with this setup are not wireless, you'll need the Mixamp 5.8 for that.

@iiHitmarkerZii No batteries. The mixamp CAN take batteries, but it plugs in via USB and since you are running it from your console anyways... just use the USB ports :-) It's not a wireless system either way.

@RudeAwakening27 The MixAmp doesnt require batteries. It comes with a USB cable that connects to one of the ports on your xbox. I believe you can purchase the wireless MixAmp setup and use the same headset. It shouldn't be a problem, but it isnt obvious that the wired pair would work as they promote buying a new headset like any profitting company would.

Yup, BUT, it also lets you hear the music and your character's footsteps, etc. through them as well. It's pretty badass dude. The MixAmp combo is now $199 too. Much cheaper than it used to be.

WAAAYY better. I know someone that works in the music industy and says that the beats STUDIO actually bleed so you while hes recording he could hear everything playing over the soundtrack again. Imagine how annoying that would be when playing cod when all of your teamates are yelling at you to stop echoing or when your with friends and they ask you to shutup because its annoying xD hope i helped.

I actually like these headsets better than the A40s because to me they are more comfortable, I can bring them places to listen to music and the sound quality seems to be pretty much the same as the A40s. Its pretty much the A40s but smaller design and able to go more places with it. They sound incredible when playing Battlefield too.
