Went there yesterday. Drove in from the east coast. This chicken was the best and well worth the 6 hour drive. The medium will give you enough kick if you haven't tried this style of chicken before. The leg-quarter (dark meat) is quite delicious.
Also be sure to get a wonderful piece of cake from the cake lady (Irene) in the shop. She was there on Tuesday. Irene's Lemon Cake is wonderful along with the checker cake (I think that is what it is called.)

I have been to this wonderful chicken shack many times and I LOVE IT! It's not for the faint of heart, even mild will cause the untrained eater to break out in a sweat and cause some stomach ache later, but as one man in movie says, "It's well worth it". Here's a suggestion for you if you come to try it out: bring a container of pure granulated sugar. When your mouth and lips get burning, just eat a spoonful of that sugar and let the juices flow in your mouth and lick your lips for relief.

The hot was indeed hot...I would probably never go beyond that again. The extra hot we set people up (ourselves included) and sampled the piece. By the way, no matter what, you are going to wait a long time before you actually get served. If you go in and order, you will wait an hour. If you call ahead and order for pickup, you will still end up waiting an hour. It will be worth it in the end though.
Since then, I have gotten the medium, and it is, by far, the best fried chicken/chicken in general I have ever had. There is nothing better. If I had one last meal on earth, it may very well be Prince's Hot Chicken.
I've been to Prince's a few times. The first time, because I am someone that loves really hot food, I ordered my chicken "extra hot." It was the hottest full meal I've ever had. I had trouble eating it, but loved it still. After finishing, I told one of the owners there that they certainly make a hot chicken, and she said to me that that was only the "hot, not the extra hot as they don't give the extra hot to first timers." I still am not sure if I believe her.
