I guess you guys gut and clean the chickens later? How does that work. I always thought you gutted and cleaned animals as quickly as possible. When do you "clean" them????
Um, heavens no! Now I believe in labor yes, I'll shuck some peas and corn on the cob and I knows how to cut up a store bought whole chicken yes.....but I aint pluckin no chicken or cutting off its feet or head,lol. My dad took me fishing alot when I was young, I loved it but could not gut, scale or cut the head off the fish and I tried. wheeeeeew! breathe...Jesus help me
I have 5 hens & 2 roosters. It is hard to find chickens in Michigan unless you order a minimum of 25 from the hatchery & that's too many for us. I grew an acre of field corn to feed them & my 5 rabbits for the winter. I will breed the rabbits and let the hens hatch eggs in the Spring. Our corn came in awesome, 2 or 3 big ears every stalk! Thanks to Pastor Dowell for encouraging me to get more self sufficient & use what God gave us to full potential!! Now plenty meat & eggs 4 the whole family!
@RestoreLatterHouse Lol! I am part Ojibwe, and will eat a rabbit no problem! Besides, the poo falls through the wirecage, so they cant eat it! They are very good roasted with carrots and young potatos!

We did chickens two days ago and had a big chicken dinner last night up here on the mountain. Pastor! Put the chicken on a table and use both hands to pluck! Things go much faster that way.

Pastor I love you inspirational videos but you talk about changing our minds to a different way of thinking and appreciation but you have no appreciation for gods creatures, veganism is true love for god and spirit and his creations, as well as a spiritual catalyst.... appreciation for gods creatures who had a life until you threw them into a bin for dinner table fodder, our body is a temple not a graveyard for animals :(
I spend two hours a day with my chickens and it is very assuring and rewarding to know the labour used to create the final product.
Also reassuring to know what they are eating and all the foods we can recycle. Tomatos go bad they get 'em. Heck there are even plants grown just for chickens as well as the weeds go to the white chickens and they eat all the leaves.
I refuse to have pesto-sides on my garden and therefore many weeds grow, but the chickens eat them :)
@davids11131113 how about Genesis 1:29?, the animal sacrificial system doesn't quite sit well in the light of this instruction to me. Then there is the idea that Jesus may have been involved with the Essenes in Nazareth who didn't eat meat or agree with animal sacrifice (because eating death brings death and Dis-Ease to the body, which also fits in with the belief it causes acidification of the body and parasitic/pathogen infection both which are root causes of disease too) google it
