  • I would like this Tidus outfit in Dissida 012..come on Square, jump back on the DLC wagon..

  • That song was taken from ff8.

  • "A caption on the video said, "The journey home begins." FFX will also be the first Final Fantasy to take advantage of Square's online service, although it will only take advantage of the strategy guide/hint feature - it won't be playable online." So stop bitching.

  • The background music is from final fantasy viii. It's called "the legendary beast"

  • Looks like they ended up using the glove in Type-0.

  • What the heck is the name of the background music? It's awesome!

  • @IenzosLostFriend I think it's from FFIX, but I'm not sure. I know it's from a FF game.

  • Is the screen a little bit too dark or is Tidus´ hair now brown instead of blonde?

  • @boinkstzih Yeah, he was originally designed with dark brown or black hair.

  • Ugh, I'm glad FFX wasn't online. There wouldn't hav e been any character development or much of a story. It would be all leveling, no plot.

Badass Tidus = no good. Every main character is a badass (Squall, Cloud, Lightning, Luneth) at least this change allowed us to see a compassionate person become brave instead of a brave person becoming compassionate.

  • @justa16thnote That's not true...FFXI and XIV are online, doesn't mean they don't have a plot...

  • @jorgesora The plot is barely there. Who really follows the story in an MMO? It's all about the items, and levels and being the best character you can be.

  • @justa16thnote I disagree... Saying that is like saying kingdom hearts has no plot either. Just because the gameplay change, the series are still the same, and while i haven't played XI yet i'm pretty sure the story's cool

  • @jorgesora Kingdom Hearts isn't an MMORPG. I've played XI and I play XIV now. It's just like any MMO: do the events and quests and stuff to become the strongest character you can be. Sure, there's a story but no one cares and it's kinda not that interesting since there's no interaction with the main antagonist except when you actually fight him... multiple times... with no change.

  • @justa16thnote I disagree, Being a MMORPG has many advantages the main games don't. You can explore the world and the culture much better, I would LOVE to get to know alot more about worlds like Spira and Cocoon/pulse. The storyline may not be as present, since the game isn't nearly as linear, but it is there, you can or not pay attention to it. As of the antagonist being nearly ausent , I mean, come on, Vayne was ausent pretty much the wohle XII game, same goes to many others in the series!

  • @jorgesora There is a larger world, you're right but world and culture can still be learned if executed well in a game that's not an MMO just like in FFX. The Spirans were simple Yevon-loving people with many formalities toward people of Yevon. Perfect!

The villain in the MMOs are not really known well, for even a villain has character development. We see a villain grow more and more ecil by his/her acts but in XI and XIV it's mostly rumored to have done things and the character acts on them.

  • @justa16thnote I'm sorry but i have to disagree again... I loved Spira and it'd be awesome to explore it even further, there are so many places you only get to visit a handful of times. Not to mention MMORPGS get updates that keeps the game fresh, and sometimes even expansions (+storylines, +monsters/bosses, +new places)

My point is, there are possitive sides to both type of games, while i do play non-mmorpgs games the most, i really enjoy MMORPGs and i think FF is perfect for them.

  • @justa16thnote altough i'd rather if the MMORPGs weren't part of the main series but a spin-off, or at the very least a sequel.

  • @jorgesora Yes, exactly.

  • @jorgesora They should have called XI and XIV "Final Fantasy Online" I and II instead.

  • @jorgesora No you're wrong. If you build a game right from ground up you dont need it to be a MMORPG. MMORPG's are only made to make a shit load of money off of people. It's a scheme.

  • @justa16thnote squall wasnt much of a badass he was more of like a scared boy trying to act badass and then finally becomes baddass in the end and facing all his fears

  • @justa16thnote

I'm pretty sure FFIX was the first to take advantage of the PlayOnline service.

That PLUS whenever Square referred to PlayOnline it was really just online help for playing the game.

Your hypothetical grievances are unfounded my friend.

  • @ZhadoxFlamez But FFX didn't have anything like Tetra master... well, blitzball. That would be a debacle if it were online, though.

  • @justa16thnote

It's like when Shadow Of The Colossus was planning to be an online multiplayer during the Tech Demo, then they ditched it to be a 1 player experience.

  • @justa16thnote PlayOnline was a feature that was interactive feature for the FF community, it didn't mean FFX was originally meant to be an MMO.

  • I don't care what people said, I enjoyed Xll. (:

  • you guys might want to keep in mind that the PS2 wasn't very powerful. Maybe they had trouble getting all these details into the final product and getting it to run with ease.

  • Holy crap what's with all the tl;dr

  • Griever!!

  • This game looked so promising, then it came out and let me down horribly. Was the start of the decline of FF games. Thank god after 4 horid games in a row they finally get back on track with 13. X, X2 XI and XII all where just awful.

  • @Clesarie I love how FF fans will never, EVER agree on which games were good and which were bad. I thought that VI was the pinnacle of the series, with X having the best story and the most strategic gameplay with XII marking the death of the series. XIII was a horrible let down for me. It had all the right ingredients, but for some reason it felt "flat". I didn't care about the characters, I didn't care about the story, Vanille annoyed the crap out of me and it was all a bit incoherent.

  • @SkullXII its a shame you feel that way. XIII goes much futher than any other FF to build up its characters. First off there is no main protagnaist you play as all your characters heavly. Also the voice acting was the best out of the voice FF games. Supringly still ff games cant get great voice actors and its the biggest rpg series there is. Whats also amazing about 13 is gameplay. It streamlined down for speed fun and excitement. FF13 is fun to play and has lovable characters. X X2 XII didnt.

  • @Clesarie Sazh and Fang aside, the characters were all giant walking stereotypes that progressed very little over the course of the story; brooding bad ass lead stricken with survivor's guilt... really original. It focussed so much on trying to pull of an ensemble of characters that the individual characterisations fell short of my expectations. I can appreciate the scale of what they tried to pull off, but it simply wasn't executed properly, just like XII.

  • @SkullXII I see your point but, I dont agree I think 13 had the most rounded characters of any. Hell older rpgs could go so far that the main character didnt even speak. Like chrono trigger. The main has no character devolopment at all. Plus 13 was fun as shit to play and the first ff i've ever played with any moderate difficultly at all. The only ff game i havent beat is 12. Because 12 was horrible. Why would I ever wanna play an offline mmo?

  • @Clesarie For me, and probably many other veteran FF fans out there, FFXII didn't have that "Final Fantasy" feel at all. That's the problem with new FF games now. Same goes for FFXIII, it's just a random sci-fi rpg with a Final Fantasy logo and a Shiva who turns into a motocycle. Wait what?! So yeah, every new generations of FF game is heading towards a weird direction. Chrono Trigger is still better than FFXIII in many ways and Crono doesn't even need to talk.

  • @keioII Why complain about the FF feel though? It had the Vagrant Story and Tactics feel, which is fantastic. Without the Final Fantasy name XII would get a lot less flack. Great game, and one of my favorites. Agree with you on XIII though.

  • @egretdingo Exactly because of its setting in Ivalice. They should've stayed away from it, kept the original summon creatures' names instead of naming airships with them. When I played XII for the first time, I don't feel like I'm playing a FF game at all. The storyline isn't all that interesting and certainly lacks character development. The main character's role has been reduced to a mere spectator, an extra. The only touching scene in the game is Balthier's greatest moment in the ending FMV.

  • @egretdingo The storyline in general, didn't make me care for any of the character at all, perhaps maybe Balthier since he seemed more like 'the leading man' than Vaan. I played it half-way then stopped for about a year before resuming for the sake of finishing it. Most of the time I just fell asleep. Tactics was more exciting than this. I have no complaints about the gameplay however, it's totally optional. If I wanted exciting turned-based battles, turn off Gambit. Otherwise stick to it.

  • @egretdingo In the end, the overall experience I got from playing XII wasn't that great. But at least it was better than the horrendous X-2. So yeah when I said the FF feel, I meant the storyline; the mythology; Shiva; Ifrit; Bahamut; solid character developments and relationships, everything I ever loved in an FF game, XII completely destroyed them for me. The music weren't that memorable either, except for a few field tracks. And finally, keep Cid a good character.

  • @keioII X-2 was not great. It wasn't "horrendous" but a little disappointing at times. It's a sequel and they're never better than the originals... never. It was very well done in everything but it just couldn't compete with it's original, and that's why everyone thinks it sucks. It doesn't. There were plenty of silly moments which was a relief, though.

  • @justa16thnote X-2 WAS horrendous. The problem is not just because "it couldn't compete with it's original", the entire atmosphere in the game made it terrible. Although I could understand Square's rationale behind the changes but it just didn't work, especially when a FF game goes Charlie's Angels. I remember I got really excited when they announced a sequel, but in the end it was a major disappointment. Not only it lacks in story, the way they structured the whole game was really bad.

  • @SkullXII Yeah you are so right I always believe that FF VI was the best of the series with all their great characters and for me it haves one of the greatest villian ever, FF X was the other one that I will always love because it have in my opinion the best story ever, I mean find out that the only thing you believe is your salvation will only lead you to death. The characters were all great and I love the romance element that blend perfectly with the story.

  • @Clesarie I personally thought 13 was horrible. All pretty graphics with a sub-par and already done in the series storyline. Plus the gameplay was HORRIBLY linear. FF12 I used to think was quite boring, but replaying it with a different mindset, I actually enjoyed it - I think you were just used to the happy ending lover and coupley bonding stuff. I do agree with you that X wasn't that great :P

  • @kupOnut11 Dude i've beatin every game in the series. Like the orginals for famicom and super famicom. Im not some just started the series at ff7 fanboy so im not used to anything thing. The series progress dramatically every 3 games. 13 was progression. I like it cause it has the best batle system and the most devolopment of indiviual characters out of any game in the series.

  • @Clesarie So am I, I've played nearly all of the FF series but I really dislike FF13 battle system. I hate getting to control only one character during battles, and I hate how the leveling up system is pretty much the Sphere Grid, but with restrictions so I can't grind as much as I'd like too. Although I guess it makes it a bit more challenging to noob gamers who over-level their characters so fighting bosses becomes too easy. What's your fav FF game? And not just the regular 1-13 ones

  • @kupOnut11 I'll just stick to the number ones excluding the 2 stupid mmo. Final Fantasy Tactics is a masterpiece and probably the best but since it doesnt have a number im not gonna count it. FF legends 1 2 3 are really Saga games so those dont count either. All the other spin offs like dirge and crisis core suck so no need to count those.

    13 > 3 > 4 > 7 > 9 > 6 > 5 > 2 > 1 > 8 > 10 >>>>>>>>>> most any game made thats an rpg > 12

  • @Clesarie Wow that's surprising to me. But yes Tactics is the BEAST and it IS my favorite, most haven't played it though .. When I ask people if they've played it they said they don't like it (but their referring to FFT advance) *facepalm*

  • @kupOnut11 btw you can flip flop the order of 2 and 1. I Didnt mean to put 2 before 1.

  • @Clesarie Did you just rank 13 at the top and 12 at the bottom?

  • @egretdingo Absolutely did. I hate ff12. Guess who else hated. Everyone else. 12 is the worst selling ff game ever. If I wanted horrible mmo style gameplay i'd play an mmo. The only people I see who like 12 are people who are into mmo like wow and what not.

  • @Clesarie I don't know about those sales-figures, but I don't see the similarities with MMO gameplay. Should we bash Chrono Cross for it's sales figures? I just loved the fact that I was able to make my characters do what I was going to make them do anyway, without the game breaking the flow of exploration or getting annoyed by goddamn random encounters. You just translate your own priorities regarding certain actions and circumstances into Gambits, and you're off!

  • @egretdingo Chrono Cross was god damn awful so yes if it sold well lets bash it. There is already so much to bash CC though I dont think we even need sales figures. That games a total disgrace to what was Chrono Trigger.

  • @Clesarie What I was trying to say is that sales-figures aren't a very good indicator for anything. You hated XII when comparing it to other Final Fantasies. You hated CC when compared to trigger. What happened to liking games for what they are? I happened to like CC a whole lot (sorry). It did great with reviewers, but terrible in sales, basically killing the franchise. I'm guessing Vagrant Story, Xenogears, FF IX and Tactics all have less than stellar sales, but they're all great games.

  • @egretdingo When you put a game in a series you're setting it up for comparisions. Make stand alone games if you dont want to be compared. I wouldnt like CC or 12 any better if they we're named something else however. Xenogears 9 and Tactics are all great games. Tactics has been so highly praised they had to reprint it and they've ported it serval times due to popularity. Pretty sure tactics has done fine for them. Vagrant story is another one of those games I hate and it was a comerical failure

  • @Clesarie The way you talk about Tactics and Vagrant Story doesn't sound fair. It's okay to love or hate games, but Tactics' sales weren't that great. A little better than CC. Half of IX. Twice that of Xenogears. Reasons for porting a game to a handheld system like the PSP could be that the pace and the nature of the gameplay are very well suited to the system, not just popularity alone. Didn't CC have reprints as well? It's crazy how we're like polar opposites in our opinions on games though...

  • @Clesarie What is bad about X that isn't bad in XIII? I blame X for the direction the series took, and I think X's popularity (which I don't understand) is responsible for the way XIII turned out. At least a different team worked their magic on XII, but people seem to criticize it for not being a proper Final Fantasy game, whatever that means.

  • @egretdingo The story in X is terrible. The localiazation for America is one of the huge reasons I hate it. Voice acting is just god awful. The sphere grid system isnt for me at all. Now I know XIII is similar to a sphere grid but I like how its used a limiter to make power level not possible and keep a constant difficultily through out the game. I also hate the ridiculous art direction of X. The the character just look fucking stupid. The reason people hate 12 is its not turn based.

  • @Clesarie XII uses ATB though... I can see what was good about the Crystarium. Making power leveling impossible, but there's also a complete lack of freedom and development. Stats are oversimplified. As far as the story goes for X, I wasn't blown away either, but when it comes to the voice acting people tend to remember the "HA HA HA HA", but I didn't think the VA was THAT bad. Just want to make clear that X and XIII are my least favorite FFs. XII is my favorite. What made you like XIII?

  • @egretdingo Battle system is so fast and constant. Its more of a quick placed thinking mans game. You have to be smart and fast. Its the hardest FF game which isnt really saying much but its the only one i've ever died in. Last boss beat me sense less had to change to a much better set of roles and skils. I also love how this is the only ff game beside ff6 that broke your part up so much. This leads to better character devolopment than many of the other games.

  • @Clesarie I can totally apreciate that. I apreciated the rest and peace XII and X gave me in their battle systems though. XIII's battle system needs constant attention and is a lot of fun because of that... If only it paused when selecting Paradigms or when selecting actions. Now it's way too tempting to just use auto-battle, which is a shame. I just wish XIII's characters were more interesting. Hope is the only one that actually grows and Sazh is the only one who was interesting to me.

  • So like, Re-make? it would be awesome as

  • i like the black hair better >.>

  • Typically a beta is made on a machine with a lot more power than ANY console ... so naturally it looks better...

  • @Disco732 True story. The current betas you see for the Unreal Engine 3 are run on three superpower computers. Aka The Samaritan.

  • BLACK HAIR??

  • Tidus here almost looks ps3, the clothes and hair moves with the wind and all making it look so amazing.

  • Looks way better than the original version. Funnily enough all beta/alpha versions of an "epic" game seem to look alot better... The only thing I dislike about this video is just the PlayOnline/Final Fantasy X logo at the top of the menu. I mean like...I'd know what game I was playing!

  • is there a playable demo?

  • why tidus has black hair there?

  • @nickz777 Beta Test, it's NOT the final product.

  • @XPrespawn Yeah, I heard the criticisms for XIV. :-/ And merry christmas to you too! :D

  • @XPrespawn Never really played XI but I do want to play that and XIV as well. XD

  • @XPrespawn FFX was originally going to incorporate online features, but those were dropped to be later used for FFXI.

  • this looks like it would be more of a re-make instead of a beta o.O that looked freggin awesome!! XD

  • 2:08 Brotherhood. =D

  • Why were they playing Eyes on Me at the start?

  • tidus look a much better with black hairs

  • @DiePoperze He was also originally a badass, apparently. Have you seen his initial concept art?

  • i wish they could just leave it as it be and not change it i mean come on the demo looks sooo awesome but then they change it, it just look so awesoem looking but except the black hair of tidus blonde was awesome but i liked the demo

  • you can tell the guy on the left is asian just b/c of his hair =]

  • @DREWdesu Tidus run weird in the game in US because is in 50 Hz ( Jap version are way better )

  • @AuronTheMaster Stop spreading nonsense you weeaboo. Both the US and Japanese versions run at 60Hz, they're both NTSC. The EU versions run are PAL, which run at 50Hz.

  • @TuxedoComplex yeah i know that now it was only on européean version sorry !

  • O_o

A temple that wasn't in the final game? And a cool logo too.

  • @SnowflakeVaan YOU LIKE BLOWJOB?

  • @DREWdesu they have remade god of war for ps3 so no doubt about it they will remake final fantasy x especially since it was a greatest hit game along with ffx-2

  • someone cant hold a camera right

  • @rena789

Most likely because it's a camera that somebody sneaked into a closed trailer preview. Square loves to do those. In fact, I'm pretty sure they had one for the latest preview of Final Fantasy XIII Versus. I guess security was a lot more lax back in these days.

  • yay ff8 music!!!!!! lol

  • @wariopya I'm glad I'm not the only one who recognized FFVIII's music. I wonder why they had it playing.

  • @DukeNukem2020 yeah.......... maybe they knew ff8 rules hahahaa lol!

  • Emo Tidus!!

  • Monokoma - can you also upload the footage from FFIX from the same event please?

  • black-haired tidus?

    online co-op?

    non-fixed camera?

omg, I wish they had done the game like this!

  • It almost looks like it belongs on the ps3 than on the ps2 lol

  • wow.. the effects are so much better than the game we got :(

  • I demand a remake!

  • this game had online?!?!

  • @oomsbun

    Online Guide, not gameplay.

  • @Volviert oh lol

  • its so raare the logo tidus hear and its in a theater or what beacuse i see a lot of people

  • Comment removed

  • @SolidShakeProductions

OH MY GOD! 430$!? The things i could do with 430$!! I mean WTF!? That price is a heart attack on a plate! It deadly!!

Emulators are the best thing to happen to the world since sex or video games.

PS Debug? So you can hack it basically and add the online feature?

  • Aw not fair! They made his clothes and hair bounce while he runs! We had like no detail in the final product compared to that T-T

  • wow why that version looks better than the original ps2 version? algo tidus hair looks so natural and moves

  • These trailers are usually done and handled on the PC which has far superior specs then consoles.

If you look at first final Fantasy 13 trailers and at the current ones you'll see there's also a downgrade.

The cause of this is NOT the xbox 360 like many fanboys will tell you, it's actually because the early previews and trailers are always done on PC's

  • Your idea doesn't make sens to a programmer, because working on a computer is really different than working on the Playstation (2 in this video) :P

When a game is planned on a specific Console (PS2), the game engine is oriented to this console, and, thus, can't work on a computer.

BTW, in the begining of every game project, things like AI, music, game states (etc.) aren't created yet, so the memory and the CPU can handle more things :)

  • yes, it does make sense, games are created on computers, not the consoles itself

The E3 demos we and previews we see are always running on computers

It's trough that AI, music, game states and stuff like that take their tolls.

But then again the videos we see usually don't have their finished textures either or aren't completly optimised

  • Hum... You don't really understand the process of making games.

A game who will work on a PS3 need a "special PS3' called Debug PS3 (for the PS2, it was the Playstation 2 Dev Kit).

A game which is created on a PS3 can only be launched through a PS3 "Debug" or "DevKit" (In the game development process).

Of course, we are doing 3D models and the game engine in the computer.

But the game can only be launched by a PS System.

  • Actually the game engine behind Final Fantasy 13 for example is a multiplatform engine.

Not to mention most trailers have anti-aliasing and other features which simply can't be done on console

Look at the Halo: Reach trailer, it was an in-engine trailer yet it had 16x AA

Why? Because it was running off a PC, not a 360

the PS3 "debug Kit" isn't used until the final stage of development

  • @st1ka

You're speaking about FF XIII, but I was speaking about FF X :p

And the PS3 DevKit is used in the first time, for programmers, in order to make their engine compatible with the PS System ;)

But now it's a different way to work...

And when someone make a game engine, he have to think about Consoles in the beginingd ;)

Also, the Xbox 360 System is alot more close to the PC than the PS3, which has a pretty complex system and architecture ;)

BTW, the AA can be made on a console...

  • Ah...whoops, I was actually Talking about 13

Yes the PS3 dev Kit is used for that, but it's mostly only used once the game engine and the game itself is finhished

Yes, the xbox is closer to a PC, but it's it's still a console, my logic still apllies

and yes, I know AA can be done on a console, but no console can produce the graphics we saw on that trailer with 16x AA, even Uncharted 2 can't push anything over 2xAA

All i'm saying is it's fairly common for games to suffer a graphical downgrade

  • That's right, but the Game Engine and the game must be tested on the PS3 in the begining :p

If not, it's too much "danger" for them and there will be too much bug to handle !

It's possible to do in your way of course but if it's planned to be multi platform, it's better to begin by writing a multi Game Engine.

BTW, yes almost all games have a graphical downgrad from the Alpha version to the final version, but again, it's because in the early, there isn't all feature and technologies used...

  • thanks for your explanation :)

  • You're welcome :)

  • @SolidshakeProduction YOU LIKE BLOWJOB?

  • lol Tidus with black hair is something i never really thought of. It's pretty cool either way, but i still think the blond suites Tidus more.

  • "No Wonder! LOL"

  • That's why he has brown roots in his hair

  • wow this looked good i wish they keep his hair black for two reasons

    1. you would actually think Jecht is his dad(but just a little because they look completely different)

    2. they are too many blonde characters already in japanese RPGs and other Japanese games.

  • Christ, I'm glad they made Tidus blonde. The black hair just didn't work for him at ALL.

The graphics and physics were definitely better here, but I assume that's because this was a beta and there wasn't nearly as much to render and store here as there was in the final game.

Still, it's interesting to see. The PlayOnline thing would've been pretty cool. It was a very interesting idea, especially for the time.

In generally I'm incredibly satisfied with the final result though. FFX is amazing.

  • @elcrowin they could do this for xbox

  • Yeah, this likely would've been more possible with the XBox, but Square did absolutely nothing with them...so yeah.

  • This was the original?!?! The graphics were so much better! And about this online version i have 2 questions about that, can u use the internet on your PS2? Second: how the hell does that online feature work?

  • @ silverstrs5

Yes we was able to use internet on PS2 with the Linux Kit (and even to program with it !).

Sony give also the ability to put a HDD for the playstation 2 (But it was only release in Japan...).

BTW, I don't know what was planned for the online of FFX... Some people was talking about downloading clothes and features... Maybe new area and monsters ?

  • @SolidShakeProduction

Wow i never knew but that sounds incredible it would have definitely added a lot to the game like possibly customizable clothing to help boost up stats that would have been amazing too bad that only was released in Japan.

  • @ silverstrs5

Haha yeah, it sounds incredible :)

But unfortunately, Sony release the HDD too late... and only in Japan :(

Thus, Game developers hasn't used it in their game (there is still some exceptions, but i don't really remember...).

Hehe, but now the Playstation 3 have this ability :p

    And it's a very good thing !

FF XIII will, i hope, use this ability in a very good way :)

  • @SolidShakeProduction

That's extremely unfortunate for us! Exceptions? Like as in other countries have that online version or what kind of exceptions? LOL wait you said you didnt remember FAIL on my part.

FF XIII sounds so kick ass right now like seriously! Lol. :D

  • @ silverstrs5

    Hahaha yeah.

I think maybe about the game ".hack/infection" or maybe about some games who wasn't released on other countries than Japan.

But this kind of game (who are completly using the HDD) was pretty rare in PS2.

But FFX don't have any online version :p

Even if it was planned (the time when FF X was made, Sony really wanted to release his HDD in the whole world !)

By exceptions, I speak about other games :P

Yeah, FF XIII will kick all of humanity's ass xD

  • @SolidShakeProduction

Excuse my uber noobinezz but can you tell me what HDD is? LOL. thats the online feature you said right?

Oh lol okay. They so should have released it i was so OBSESSED with FFX as a kid and it made me cry lol.

Will? So it hasnt came out yet? (epic sad face)

  • @silverstrs5

No prob, HDD mean Hard Disc Drive, like in your computer :p

But Now i've checked in Wiki... and I didn't know that he was also release in the North American ! So i was wrong.

But still not in Europe (I live in France) where it was actually cancelled by Sony.

    FF XI use that HDD.

Try "Wiki Playstation 2" and "Expension Bay" and you'll see all games who're using the HDD.

But in Europe, it will never come.

We still can find it in some shops, but it's expensive :p

  • @SolidShakeProductions

Oh ok because i kept thinking High Definition but im like NO there is an extra D! Lol so ty.

Wait are you saying there was a release in North America? Dang that sucks tough break! But how exspensive?

Ha haha yeah it's not HD :p

Yes, according to Wikipedia, North America have the HDD in their store, but in Europe, maybe we can find it in 300 euros ?

In America, i don't know how much it cost :p

I heard about the capability to use the HDD like a Memory Card, but i don't know if it's true or not :p

Also, the HDD can only be used in the old PS2, not the Slim PS2.

Sony said that "a true gamer who need the HDD... must already have the old PS2"

  • @SolidShakeProduction

Lol yea i FAIL like that! (and when you FAIL it always needs to be capitalized or your a noob (lol.) and that would considered DOUBLE FAIL.)

300 EUROS?! Lol i dont even know if thats alot let me get my cell phone converter a find out how much that is in American dollars lol (after converting...) HOLY CRAP! 393.657$?! oh wait lemme fix that my phone fails 399.57$?!

I used to have an old PS2 until you know... an EPIC FAIL occured....

  • @silverstrs5

    haha.

    300 euros is 430 $ now :p

    Yes it's too expensive !

I don't have my PS2 anymore, since he was broken !

But I have an emulator now (PCSX2), so I can still play with all of my games and also all games that i never found in Europe !

But i don't think that it will be necessary now to buy the HDD.

the HDD was also used by indie game developers, like the Playstation Yaroze (for PS1), but again, the emulation of these consoles give the ability to have a PS Debug in our computer !

  • The playonline idea wasn't too bad, I think they just removed it because it was executed very badly on IX, but being able to use an online strategy guide IN-GAME would have been awesome.

  • epic...although playonline is not cool...so its good that the took it away...btw epic ffviii "the legendery beast" theme on the background

  • That's wild. And yeah, I agree with djsotos; it DOES look graphically superior to the final version. I also really like the logo.

  • the hair physic is way better than the original one

  • Why does this look way better than the original in Graphics?

  • lolz

well its the beta version so the games not finished. i guess they had to take away some things cause they put too much work on it...

  • @djsotos Because the game wasn't finished and they didn't yet know how much they'd have to cut down to make it run on a PS2.

  • @djsotos Cause your playing it on the PS3 or 2 which bastardises it :P

  • @djsotos

Simple reason. It's a trailer, and it's played on a HD tv.

I just want to know why his hair is black xD

  • @djsotos

Probably because they had incorporated more things in (more lands?) and had to dumb down the graphics so it wouldn't lag or something.

  • @djsotos

Because it is a trailer/beta or something.

  • why is it that the original X looked so much better. I mean if that was the way X played, that would be so awesoeme!

  • play online what?

  • OMG I watched this trailer when I was 15. how nostalgic

  • Play Online functionality?

  • playonline? OK!

  • Why does the japanese version have a higher framerate than the american and european versions???

  • it did?

  • yeah!

  • looks okay...

  • they used ff8 song at the beginning

  • actually no it was from FFV originally but this is a remix. They also used the song the same song in numerous FF games

  • you are lying

  • Comment removed

  • Mate I have all the OSTs for all the FFs. Don't make foolish uneducated responses.

  • shut up

  • *yawn*.

"shut up" = translation: I lose.
