I haven't played guitar in 43 years and in past 3 months I went out and got a 1997 Guild Bluesbird, 1995 Fender Blues DeVille 2X12, Strat copy, Line 6 M13 and a bunch of other stuff, because I ran into a YouTube video of you teaching an Ozzy song so well that I felt I could do it again. My wife was a little upset that I raided our retirement fund but that’s ok, I'm happy again, so Thank You for your Great lessons. (Keep it going) -- Lou
Nicely done. I've watched tons of your vids, bought some of your DVD's, and ALWAYS pay close attention to what your doing in the Allie vids. But I've never gotten a good look at the headstock on that 335 style guitar. If I may what, brand of guitar is that? I love the tone and the finish. I have a 335 copy with three P90's that sounds pretty good, thats why the interest.
Oh how I loveeee hearing the good ole blues baby! First time listener to you Marty, some awesome stuff! people like me who are learning how to play cherish these kind of videos!! Thanks and keep the jamming going!!!
hey thanks man for always havin the best licks, i love srv and albert king and u seem to be the only person that i can find great and accurate riffs and licks! this trick got more licks than a blowjob contest!
cool thing bout blues muzic....I remember my first taste of THE BLUES back when I was about 6th grade....I bought this album(casette tape back then), I remember this song Born under a bad sign. It struck the blues in me and things never was the same again...And guess who sang it... Hommer Simpson!!!!!! Marty, just began listen and watchin your videos just a couple of months ago. Thanks for bringing back the BLUES in me.
I've enjoyed your presentation of the many different tutorials for helping me and others to learn some cool riffs. Iactually enjoy settingand learning the material. I had voted for you to play in the Crossroads program with EC but never heard how it turned out; anyway I do appreciate your guitar skills. I'm still woring hard at it. My neighbors have said they enjoy my picking while I practice out on the patio (sometimes up til 1030 at night). Thanks for your help
@wtractor024 Re: "ingvey"... My guess is that he's referring to Yngwie Malmsteen. He's a famous guitarist. So he was joking around, kind of like saying, "Hey guys! Jimi Hendrix here..."
Booker T. wrote this song and Steve Cropper was the first to play the riff. They recorded the song with Albert King. Unfortunately, millions of people think Clapton and Cream wrote it.
hey marty wats up? i have been listening to your videos since i started playing seven months ago and i practice religiously everyday. ive always wanted to play music but have never had ne guidance but since i started listening to your videos its like night and day! i actuall went to my first open mic nite this week and did an awesome job all thanks to you!!!!!!!!!!!! u have helped me more than you know!!
Why do people think of this song as being played in the key of G when the major 3rd (B) is never played? Try jamming the tune in Gm. Nice explanation about the pick-up riff.
Me and my freind spent ages today going through loads of Marty guitar lessons to find the one where he goes, hi my names Ingvay, Ive been laughing all day over that, pretty stupid but I just find that hillarious.
Marty love your stuff and was thinking about that huge package you were offering. The only problem is all the beginner stuff. Would love to find a package that takes an intermediate like me and goes to the next step

very cool lesson ; we used to play this when we were kids ; and actually made 30 minute jam sessions out of it. I'm 54 now and picking back up where I left off,so many years ago. But now I have Marty's DVD collection to help me learn ; He explains things in a way that I can easily understand ; and have fun in the process. Thanks Marty ; you da best!!!
YOU ARE A STAR! i am 29 had a guitar for years never been able to play due to not been able to read well i see words numbers backwards. BUT now thanks to watching your vids i can play THANK YOU !
Marty, your lessons are absolutely insane. I watch a lot of blues guitar tutorials on youtube and the problem with most of the other teachers is that they are technically good but they don't really PLAY the blues, you know. There is no emotion behind it, it's just like ok here's a lick like, ok this is how to tie your shoelaces. You are the only teacher who really seems to get the fact that the blues is deeper than something that's cool to learn to impress your friends. Keep on rockin man.
Canada loves ya there Marty, use this sweet song to serenade jim sally n the deer up here, definatley my first choice on guitar lesson videos. Always real clear, love the improv at the end as well, always really inspiring to see how the song can modified and expanding and encourages you to play even more to hit that certain level. Im still an amateur guitarist, 5 months of playing and these videos have been the key to my learning! thanks a lot! keep your stick on the ice eh!
Hi Marty! Thank you from New Jersey. Great lesson, I learned a lot from this video (and all the other) and even picked up the licks at the end. Thank you for what your doing, your very generous .

Be sure to let us know the next time you are on the East Coast. Thank you so much for all of the inspiration. I've been crossing the bridge from drummer to guitarist and you have been a tremendous help. Dig IT>
Hey Marty,.. can you slow down and show us those little riffs you put in on the end of this video...I can figure out some of it but it happens so fast... would like to learn the whole thing.. thanks
I already bought the whole blues package (so don't choose me to win a free one) and it is GREAT! I highly recommend it for beginners and intermediate players no matter what type of music you prefer. I learn a little more technique every day and I am LOVIN' IT!.
Any chance that you could do a lesson on Mark Knopfler's Song For Sonny Liston, Marty?

Marty, Greetings from Athens GA.
Be sure to let us know the next time you are on the East Coast. Thank you so much for all of the inspiration. I've been crossing the bridge from drummer to guitarist and you have been a tremendous help. Dig IT>
