My old house, it's still standing, so's my mamaw's house. I'm so happy that both of them are standing! And they're really old too! I was at Powell Valley Primary After School Program when this happened. Good thing that school is stable!
i live in coeburn, va. the time this happened i was living in lee county. my mother's worked in wise co for the past 5 years. she has to drive though big stone to get home. on the day this happened, she got stuck in traffic in norton. if she would have left any earlier she would have drove straight into it. this reminds us tornado are possible ANYWHERE.. nobody is safe from them. no state, town or city. remember that! don't think they can't never happen to you because they can, no matter what.
If it was a trailer then that would by typical EF1 damage. And yes, I am from the north but I have studied the EF scale and we do get tornadoes on occasion.
No, we average only one tornado every 3 years in my county, though this year has been more active. But I have studied the degrees of damage for the Enhanced Fujita scale and that damage to a trailer would normally result from EF1 winds.
Moron. Leave high school sports out of this. As a PV graduate though, I could argue that God has been a PV fan. 8 football state trophies in a 16 year period from 82-98.
yea, and appalachia has 6 including back to back in 96 and 97, despite vastly lower financial and physical resources. we played in practice jerseys and still won state
i live there i was with my mom in her car and the car started shaking and real real hard rain my mom said is a tornado happening while it happened i was in walmart and i heard people yelling tornado!
so it tips over a tree but the slide remains untouched thats weird... and it crushes the hot car but leaves the ugly one alone. thats fucked up.

Unless that wasn't a well built house at 2:10 I'd say it was more of an EF3 than an EF1.

@dragonridley and your surrounded by hundreds of trailers that get wiped out on a daily basis?

Yeah.
It may seem odd to some, but when tornadoes to occur around where I am they usually happen in the hills

This tornado was obviously underrated. In my opinion, it was most likely an F3 tornado.
