I was born in Kansas but I was raised in Wyoming and Colorado. I love all three states, but I always say with tongue in cheek, "Wyoming, where men are men and the sheep run scared!" Oh, and by the way, Broke Back Mountain WAS NOT ABOUT TWO GAY COWBOYS!! There's a difference between Cowboys and Sheep Herders!!! Real cowboys wouldn't be caught dead herding sheep! Just putting my two unwanted cents worth of opinion in and don't care if you agree or not! God bless the U.S. and our Troops!
Sometimes when I hear music such as this , I get the feeling I was born in the wrong century. I wish I was in the wild west as a trail boss or on a cattle drive.
@quietjedi1010101 Well you didn't have to be born in a different century, I've worked and rode many ranches, that besides an old truck and an occasional light bulb you wouldn't know it was the 21st century.
ive been all over america... the northeast, the southeast, the west.
and the west is by far the most country out of all of them. the south is too populated and modern, the north has always been that way... the west has the true country folk and real cowboys
@NYredneck17 Ha. You obviously haven't been to South Carolina if you think the west has the true country folk. The west? Maybe it used to be. Not anymore though. Maybe the most cowboys, but by far not the most country folk.
@2011UnboundGaming ive been through parts of it and its pretty modern modern. compared to the small towns in the middle of nowhere in wyoming and such, its a huge difference compared to the south

I can remember seeing this on CMT. In all honesty, I never thought Chris would even consider doing a song with Jon Bon Jovi. This song really blew me away. Then, my brother bought Chris' 20 greatest hits Cd, and this song was on it. We sang it a few times, but we can't seem to find it on karaoke. Can someone help me out here?....
somewhere buried in my childhood stuff are a couple of the tapes chris sold out of the back of his car at rodeos. back when he was still tring to make it as a singer
cattle take fence down when they stampede if this man was alive he could tell ya. we had a hell of a stampede in bruno idaho one year they destroyed several crops and a small home... when they get going they dont stop for small things like fences or houses. they got threw them.. i miss this man and his music.
Before my first ride ever I listened to Chris.. I pray it continues to be that way for many of upcoming cowboys and cowgirls to come. Chris Rides on RIP LeDoux
i love this song so much chris is my hero god bless you chris we will miss you there is now a gap in country music that you left that can never be filled

Shortly after his death, LeDoux was named as one of six former rodeo cowboys to be inducted into the ProRodeo Hall of Fame in Colorado Springs in 2005. He was the first person to ever be inducted in two categories, for his bareback riding and in the "notables" category for his contributions to the sport through music.

dude what is the fastenation with these things i love country too but im not waisting time spamming shit all over the internet about how country i am. if you were truly a country an you wouldnt feel the need to prove it.
I am a 15 year old country boy from north California and our kind is a dying breed, good thing we got singers like Chris LeDoux to keep singing it like it is!!!!or well he used to sing it like it was i feel his songs in the heart) RIP Chris LeDoux
Chris LeDoux--missed by sooo many. On March 9th I'm asking all his fans to call their radio station to request his music. Let radio know we will NEVER forget this great man.
I am so sorry that your local radio stations don't play more of him.Call & request his music if you can. That's the ONLY way we will ever get his music played more often.I am SOOO lucky to have the best DJ's on radio (I'm NOT BIASED AM I??!!) that are sooo good about playing his music for all of us here in north east Nebraska,,US 92 radio is streaming live on the internet,,give it a listen, I recommend it & NO, I DON'T work for the radio station,I am one of there BIGGEST Chris LeDoux fans ever
I don't think "scary as hell" would even begin to cover it--you'd best hope that you were right with your Creator. The old war adage "There are no atheists in foxholes" comes to mind; kind of doubt there are any in front of a stampede either!
Why, thank you! My uncle is a cowboy in Western Nebraska--has been for well over 50 years--I'll have to ask him his opinion about this song sometime. He always has interesting commentary. Thanks again! :)
I have worked cattle for a living for a while, and I think it is a great story of how it used to be, but now days when cattle get spooked, they dont really have that far to run before they hit a fence. Even on the most of the biggest outfits its not more than mabey ten miles. The lawyers and bankers have cut it all up. And cross fencing is popular now, to maximize your grass production.
@9111lliw more than bankers and lawyers, it's jews - waitaminit!!!! bankers - lawyers - they're both popular careers for jews, nevermind, you were right in the first place.
Ive been in a stampede (and worse) and I'm still an Atheist. I've never been scared so stupid as to believe in an invisable man in the sky, thankfully.
fuck you dude. do i tell you what to beleive? i dont give a good god damn what you do or dont beeive in. just get over it and let people have their beleifs.
i never claimed i was a genius dude. still are you really that pathetic that you have to come on to youtube just to argue with people if there is a god or not. why cant you just be content in your own beliefs. i dont give a fuck what you think is right just dont try to shove your beliefs down other peoples throats.
he was a damn good singer it pisses me off they never play his songs on 100.7 the wolf its way the hell better than this newer shit thats comin out nowadays
Oh wow. I can't believe someone actually had the guts to say "artificial country singers". I can't believe I didn't think of it sooner! Thank you so much for that.
Great comment but Chris LeDoux isn't form Wyoming He was born in Biloxi, Mississippi, so what the hells up with the Wyoming part. other than that great comment.

Chris LeDoux--missed by sooo many. On March 9th I'm asking all his fans to call their radio station to request his music. Let radio know we will NEVER forget this great man.
Please pass this on to all country music fans.
March 9th--remember him

I have never heard many radio stations play him, unless he was singing with Bon Jovi or something. Makes me sick.
9111lliw 2 years ago
I am so sorry that your local radio stations don't play more of him.Call & request his music if you can. That's the ONLY way we will ever get his music played more often.I am SOOO lucky to have the best DJ's on radio (I'm NOT BIASED AM I??!!) that are sooo good about playing his music for all of us here in north east Nebraska,,US 92 radio is streaming live on the internet,,give it a listen, I recommend it & NO, I DON'T work for the radio station,I am one of there BIGGEST Chris LeDoux fans ever

i think it would be scary as hell if you saw a stamped coming straight for you.
dragonfire029 3 years ago
I don't think "scary as hell" would even begin to cover it--you'd best hope that you were right with your Creator. The old war adage "There are no atheists in foxholes" comes to mind; kind of doubt there are any in front of a stampede either!
AutumnRoads 3 years ago
hell yah thats about the best I have ever heard it put well stated
gaycowboy31 3 years ago
Why, thank you! My uncle is a cowboy in Western Nebraska--has been for well over 50 years--I'll have to ask him his opinion about this song sometime. He always has interesting commentary. Thanks again! :)

I have worked cattle for a living for a while, and I think it is a great story of how it used to be, but now days when cattle get spooked, they dont really have that far to run before they hit a fence. Even on the most of the biggest outfits its not more than mabey ten miles. The lawyers and bankers have cut it all up. And cross fencing is popular now, to maximize your grass production.
9111lliw 2 years ago 15
@9111lliw Except when you have a couple of those high headed fence crashers leading the way.
firegypsie 1 year ago
@9111lliw more than bankers and lawyers, it's jews - waitaminit!!!! bankers - lawyers - they're both popular careers for jews, nevermind, you were right in the first place.

Ive been in a stampede (and worse) and I'm still an Atheist. I've never been scared so stupid as to believe in an invisable man in the sky, thankfully.

This comment has received too many negative votes show
There are atheists in foxholes... Im not foolish enough to believe in "god"
Surathan 3 years ago
fuck you dude. do i tell you what to beleive? i dont give a good god damn what you do or dont beeive in. just get over it and let people have their beleifs.
carboy2278 2 years ago
Try spelling Believe and Belief right and I may actually care what your retarded ass is typing
Surathan 2 years ago
i never claimed i was a genius dude. still are you really that pathetic that you have to come on to youtube just to argue with people if there is a god or not. why cant you just be content in your own beliefs. i dont give a fuck what you think is right just dont try to shove your beliefs down other peoples throats.

Chris LeDoux was one of those rare souls in the music business that actually lived his music.
Not too many artists of ANY genre can say that.

There's an awful lot of artificial country singers out there. They've got miles to go to meet Chris LeDoux's integrity.
Wyoming's finest. We'll miss you greatly.

Oh wow. I can't believe someone actually had the guts to say "artificial country singers". I can't believe I didn't think of it sooner! Thank you so much for that.
Well put. All of it.
