@Timmay123456789 You can say that at a low level when you haven't done much but once you get to a point were you can easily break someones ribs with a kick then it's not useless, it's a sport and it's been changed into a sport although there is still an element of real fighting in it with punches and combos combined with kicks it can be pretty deadly, combine TKD with an art like Kung Fu and your set.

@slayer1234567891 You are right, my school combines TKD with Kobudo and Kadena de Mano. I realy think it helps to be able to move from one type of martial art to the next, but it also depends on each person's abilities. :)

Actually, the olympic sport of taekwon-do is a variation in which there is no punching to the head, and limited punching altogether; however, there is another branch which combines equally the art and the sport, and there can be just as much boxing as kicking. The branch which allows punches to the head just isn't quite popular enough to be an olympic sport.

@Timmay123456789 You should really open your mind to the possibilities. The martial arts are not just for the body but they also enrich the mind, soul and attitude. Since we started TKD my daughter and I have been able to communicate better because we have been able to open our minds up to each other and be open to what each other has to say.

i agree with u 100% about how we shouldn't brag. although, i disagree on one thing. if we're proud of what we accomplish, can't we let people know about it? taekwondo's a sport and we should be proud about we do. but we shouldn't brag.

its whatever you find to be dynamic according to your own ability, hence there is most likely a martial art for each person, customized just for them

@aria1993 actually, there is a best martial art for each type of fighting. For 1 on 1, its Brazilian JiuJitsu. For 1 against many it would be Krav Maga. For demonstration/show off, maybe Tae Kwon do? and so fourth

@halflife103 true, i won against a black belt who was always saying that he breaks bricks, marbles and these kind of stuff, in the battle nothing is for certain, from one moment that you are winning untouched you could end up losing in a instant, a guys who was weaker than me beated me and made me realize that and i truly thank him now.
