@jeffkahl Keith replies: Hi-hat???!! WTF is a Hi-hat. What's the point of something that chokes the sound? I spent money on a giant gong instead...and they threw in an extra bass drum.
if you mean the who of that time 1966 you're right but compare with the animals the who totally rocks think in all the great albums quadrophenia, tommy, who's next...they made history and not only for "hits songs" like my generation, they also created the opera rock style (they and the pretty things)
i would prefer it. my computer set up is no match for my home theater system. besides youtube quality is pisspoor to begin with. but this'll do quite nicely for now! thanx to beyond the beat!!!
Thanks for these. The Who sure kicked ass in this era. The best years for Rock n' Roll IMHO (Even though I wasn't around to witness them 1st hand). Keith Moon is just amazing to watch. He just loves every minute of it!

Dig The Who!!!

The live experience probably had a little more impact. This is film from 1966; the sound and cinematic quality would not be up to today's standards.

talk about missing the point ... the who is all about wild, loud playing, the beatles and animals utterly fail on those terms vs the who.

What! No smash up at the end of 'My Generation'.
Awesome footage of live early Who. Still great even though they were right about to break-up after this. Thanks for the video Beyondthebeat!
