As a man who saw The Dead fifteen times or so, (not to mention the Garcia band several times) I'd like to compliment your performance of this song.
Actually, I'm so old that I also saw The Beatles (twice), Hendrix, Duke Ellington and Miles Davis in his acoustic period. Not to mention Dizzy Gillespie, Traffic, The Band and The Fani Allstars (1972).
I've learned almost every song I know by ear. That, combined with my poor knowledge in theory, accounts for my incorrect chord choice. I would suggest you look at JDarks stuff on youtube. I have checked out a few of his videos, and he's amazing! If you insist on using my chords, they are simple: A, E-minor, and D for the intro and verse; D, A, C and G for the bridge. Hope this helps!
if there's one thing the dead taught is it's that getting the theory exactly right doesn't matter at all. you have true talent and, more importantly, perform with real feeling. It is worth learning the theory as you grow, don't get me wrong, but you already have the most important parts. Keep it up.
FYI the recording levels are a little hot on this. The audio was breaking up in a weird way. Just dial it back a bit.
Yeha man THat was awesome I just picked up the Mando and I know that i'm expected to do bad but I still feel as confident as much w/o bragging. And your voice is awesome ecspcially for the quality!!!! Rock on hey also I would love to see a GD cover band not fronted by an old white guy(I know they aren't all) but just something to think about
I have always greatly admired the Grateful Dead. The first time I heard "Wharf Rat", I was deeply moved. Your performance was beautiful frfr1234frfr, and if I could sing as half as well as you, I would be very happy. It's funny how so many of us can be so hard on ourselves. This was an awesome performance, you did Jerry proud :)
I think that your pretty damn amazing! As long as you keep playing I promise I will keep watching! Do you think you could play "Peggy-O" ? I think that you would sound awesome playing that one! What ever you choose to play next I can't wait to see it!!
I think you're right. Maybe my NY's resolution should be to shut up and put out...and not just sexually. he he But honestly, I'm actually not being sarcastic. I think I should just play, and either accept that I fuck up, or never play ever again.
allright man one of my favorite dead and easyes song i play it on keyborads iam trying to get a good cam so i can do some song on my keyborads and upload some covers i know
Ive never heard this song by them before. I'll definitely check it out now! Even though you say you're sick messing up ect. I still think you're really good : )
What are the chords for it and what are you doing with that A when you play it are you sliding it? You should make a how to vid!

hey don't sweat the misteaks.... Jerry was great but he made his fair share of misteaks too. the trick is to keep on going and call it improv.

You don't have great technique and your vocals aren't always clear BUT, perhaps partly for these reasons, this rendition has real beauty.
