  • Channel 13 in L.A. Cali.......Back in the days kid. This cartoon could make it today.

  • They could EASILY bring this back in its original format today and it would be a smash hit. WHERE ARE YOU, MIGHTY HEROES?!?

  • man if anything is ripe for a reboot it's this shit. eff a bunch of green lantern, i want a mighty heroes movie

  • it's amaaaazing what can be found on youtube! i LOVED this show when i was a kid, and here it is! awesome! thanks for the upload.

  • TMH were some of the coolest superheroes ever! Even though they were bumblers they never hesitated to respond to the call of duty. I bought a VHS of some of them and once the DVD was available I got them all. Long live TMH!

  • Oh wow. The good old days. I watched this back in the day.

  • i wish this would come out on DVD. i loved it when i was kid.

  • @RandolphAgarn1 10 of these cartoons are on the 350 Classic Cartoons DVD which you can order from Amazon.

  • Their call signal is waaaay cooler than Batman's!

  • 1 of my FAV cartoons growing UP -GUNG HO!!!!!

  • Rope Man actually achieved some cult credibility during the 1990's with Jack Kevorkian's followers.

  • Anybody got the episode "The Scarecrow?"

  • OMG!!!!!! I CAN'T BELIEVE I FOUND THIS! I COULDN'T REMEMBER WHAT THESE GUYS WERE CALLED SO I COULDN'T DO AN ACCURATE SEARCH BUT WOW IT'S SO GREAT TO SEE THESE GUYS AGAIN. MAKES ME A BIT MISTY CAUSE YOU CAN'T GO BACK TO THE GOOD OLE DAYS NO MATTER HOW DEAR THEY WERE.

  • This brings me back to when I was a child watching this Saturday morning on TV. 56. These are REAL cartoons!! CHEERS!!

  • @1motorpsycho: I remember it as well ... our official Old Fart cards should be arriving in the mail any day now.

  • I LOVE YOUTUBE for this reason alone. No one remebers this but me! They thought I was big time crazy. Now I can prove that I am only a little crazy.

  • @1motorpsycho That's so funny. You definitely aren't crazy cause I remember these guys too. Isn't Youtube the best!

  • @1motorpsycho I feel the same way you do.

  • @1motorpsycho I grew up on this too and I hadn't thought about it until recently.

  • thank god i am generation x !

  • All the eps had the same basic plot -- the M.H. find out what evil's afoot and confront it, but at first in an uncoordinated fashion. They end up doing as much damage to each other as the villain (Rope Man accidentally tying up 2-3 other Heroes, Diaper Man klonking Strong Man with an errant bottle, etc.). Once they start working together, the bad guys are defeated withing about 90 sec. Bakshi was paying the bills with this one, but if having it on his resume enabled "Fritz the Cat", s'cool.

  • used to watch these guys between movies when i was a kid

  • Thanks for this..a blast from the past!

  • Oh wow I haven't seen this since 78, I can't believe I remember this cartoon! I used to get up early Saturday mornings to watch cartoons. I don't know if that still exists?

  • channel 56 in boston the at noon was....Creature Double Feature kids today have no idea what good shit is

  • @chipfitch Man what a blast from the past. I used to live in Worcester, and watched 56 every saturday. My first exposure to Godzilla and Dracula was from CH56. Thanks for the reminder !!

  • "In philadelphia, the kids choice is...channel 48" (kids singing). Then I would hear this joint, and know my saturday is gonna be me, The mighty herors, and a big ass mixing bowl filled with that fake cpt. Krunch cereal and sugar water. times was much simpler back then.

  • @101iamlegend Channel 48 ruled!!!!

  • @tartan85 Damn. Thanks for the Co-sign. I thought I was going crazy, being tha only one who remembered that station.

  • These were the days when getting up on Saturday morning before sun-up was an event that could not be missed ......

An Cuckoo Man had said " Go Cuckoo Man Go " right before his wings kick into high gear ....

  • jptang, I believe it was 56... I lived in Brookline for six months in 1977 and this still sticks with me! Google is a wonderful thing!

  • The intro was the best thing..we used to get off on this intro when we were kids,,the cartoons itself were too silly to watch. Best cartoon intro.

  • Will somebody please put these guys on DVD?

  • I always thought these guys were a perfectly legit superhero team. Take THAT X-Men!

Hmm, looking at it now I wonder who really made this. Doesn't look like standard Terrytoons.

  • @Edotter Ralph Bakshi made this with Terrytoons. The guy behind Fritz the Cat and American Pop.

  • Comment removed

  • Loved this cartoon!

  • This was my thing. I forgot how hot the theme music was...

  • Cuckooman`n talent was he got in the way alot.

  • Backstory: A meteor hit the city of Goodhaven, spewing ET spores that wrought changes in (a few, random) males' DNA. But the pattern of the changes themselves wasn't random -- they were related to the immed. environment of the victim. Likely an adaptive response by the bug. Thus a guy who used heavy tools, etc., became Strongman, a sailor wrangling lines had his body turn ropy, and baby whose intellectual powers were just developing had it hyper-accelerated and gained the power of speech.

  • At my age 53, I admit I LOVE watching these old cartoon & sharing them w/my g.daughter. Tku. U have probably kept alot of people out of jail!

  • THIS WAS MY SHIt!!!!!!!

  • I always talk about this show. I ask my wife "do you remember a show with baby man and rope man...tornado man I think?" She doesn't. But now I will show her this, at least so she knows I'm not crazy.

  • @ladychelle1975 funny you say that, ive been asking everyone in my age group if they remember this and no one has. i was starting to think i imagined the whole thing.

  • Hey everyone. Why are you still trying to watch your favorite TV show on YouTube? Better watch it online for free at lotsofseries, com

  • I just found this cartoon here..and I was soooo into them as a kid... Thanks to who ever found them and posted them... thank you very VERY much

  • this cartoon it was.....................

  • I remember there was a comic book that revealed their origin. All of them, including Diaper Man, gained their powers from a meteor that crashed in Good Haven. This meteor also gave Diaper Man his high IQ and gift of speech.

  • One of my favorite Cartoons,Ilove the line"Go Cocoman Go".My brother and I would watch this every morning on Mr.Bill Cartoons.

  • my guy was tornado man!

  • This is the BEST theme song ever!

    EVER!

    It totally swings!

  • It was pretty cool.

  • @StressJudo :I'm sorry, I must disagree. The theme from Super Chicken is much better. That's actually a song. This is a pretty cool instrumental, but I still prefer the SC theme.

  • @StressJudo

    I agree.

  • they would have not only found bin laden but dealt with the taliban once and for all

  • I watched this on Nick back in the 80's when i was a kid and it rocks, Bakshi is awesome.

  • Used to watch this cartoon religiously... loved the stories and characters and especially the theme song.

    Good times...

  • wow im 30 and i remember watching this cartoon in like 1982-3 etc I always wondered if id see it again!

  • How about 53! and remembering it! I always LOVED this theme!!!

  • I remember watching this around 1966-67...I'm still impressed by the animation-- Very energetic, original, and entertaining! I'd forgotten Ralph Bakshi was responsible.

  • Wow brings back memories! Would watch this after school in the 1970's and always thought (even then) that it was weird that Rope Man went into his sailor uniform to change.

  • Hardly anyone remembers this cartoon that I've asked but I remember it fondly :D. I saw the reruns in the 70's and it came on in the mornings before school. I dont remember it being on for a long time though.

  • Dig that crazy beat!

  • This brings back great memories..ranks up there with Superfriends, Challenge of the Superfriends and the newest Justice League cartoons with Supergirl and Stargirl.

  • Lol !! Loved this show !

  • I remember seeing this during the daytime in the summer during the 80s. The intro always seemed to strike me weird, but I enjoyed it nonetheless

  • didn't Ralph Bakshi have something to do with this?

  • According to Wikipedia, he Directed it...

  • I used to love this shit!

  • Are these guys out on dvd yet?

  • There are 8-10 of these cartoons on a dvd

set I bought at walmart recently. It was

called 350 cartoons & was in the $5.00

    bin.

  • YES! No one i have spoke to never heard of this cartoon. finally, i learn the name! thanks!

  • Oh my God, I used to watch this 30 years ago. Never thought I'd see it again.

  • I NEVER understood what Cuckoo Man said just as he flew out the door!

  • He says, "Go, Cuckoo Man, go."

  • Yikes. I guess I could use some brain surgery. He tells HIMSELF that; how funny. Well, he IS Cuckoo Man. I wonder how Diaper Man's parents felt about him being on call 24/7 in order to go out and face bad guys and weirdoes. And I think I'd rather him NOT to ever be alone with Cuckoo Man...

  • Actually, it's one of Cuckoo Man's birds who says, "Go, Cuckoo Man, Go!"

  • We'll he has Strong Man as guardian.

  • @gwugluud11 He says, "UP AND GO!"

  • Good lord. After over 30 years, I finally get to hear this again. Thank you for uploading this.

  • Agreed "vaultboy123",

Thought I'd never here this theme again.!!!!

Other good ones are "Milton the Monster","King Kong"and "George of the jungle".......hahahaha

  • I would love to see this made into a movie.

  • This was one of my favorite cartoons when I was a kid. It had a rock rhythm to it that no other superhero cartoon had, and I loved the way the heroes kept banging and bumping into each other and tripping each other up while trying to catch the villain, but somehow they always got their man. I also loved the way Part 2 of each cartoon was preceded by still-shot recaps of Part 1, showing the heroes' major moves in freeze-frame. Thanks for bringing them back!

  • Ralph Bakshi had worked on this serial after a long stint doing work for Terrytoons. He waxed discontent at the Fritz Freling release of "Super Six", which may have copied his idea. He gained fame and notoriety with the productions of Fritz the Cat, Heavy Traffic, Wizards, Fire and Ice, Lord Of The Rings, and Cool World, etc. He is alleged to have fired an artist based on ethnic discrimination, and the industry never got over the rumor. This is an enjoyable cartoon.

  • God I always loved this cartoon

  • I dreamt about this opening last night!

  • Awesome memories!!! I remember watching this with my brothers in the late 70's. We each picked a fav. I, of course, was Rope-man. You kids today missed out on great toons from back in the day.

  • GUNG HO!

  • Strong Man is big and dumb but his heart is in the right place! DiaperMan rules!

  • Yea...great memories is right

  • This was the last cartoon series from Terrytoons in the late-60's to early-70's.

  • This is why i love YOUTUBE. I remember this as a kid. Couldnt remember what it wuz called. I would explain it 2 peeps & i would get strange looks. Now i can show them. THX!

  • I remember as a kid in the early 80's there was a few coin video games at my local sears and they had a little booth, it looked like a sit down video game now a days. You put in a quarter and watched a episode of the mighty heros, Made time go by fast when parents shop for hours. First time in 25 years I have seen this. Thanks so Much

  • Thank you for posting this. Believe it or not I found the whole series of this cartoon on DVD on Ebay and have enjoyed sharing it with our daughter. I love these old cartoons

  • OMg thx for posting one of the most under-rated cartoons of all time! Very funny and original

  • lol i used to love this cartoon

  • cool toon from back in the day! Great memories.

  • Nice intro. You can really see Ralph Bakshi's creativity shown here.

  • I love some of you YOUTUBE cats because I can honestly say I haven't seen this in about 25 years!!wow

  • People: Please disregard my remarks I recently posted: these are replies to Zee339 and his weak attempts to try to point out the hypocrisy of the Right while forgetting his OWN party's misdoings.

They are for him (or her) only.

Other than that, LOVE the Mighty Heroes! Watched them on Channel 5 (WNEW) as a little Shawnster and still love em'!

Some things get better with age and cartoons are no exception :)

  • Oh how I loved this one, thanks for posting!

  • Thank you for this great memory...cartoon magic and a great theme tune.

  • I Love this ShoW!

  • Greatness... this opening still gets me fired up after all these years (cartoon was S.O.P. before going to school in the early 70s)

  • Now we're talkin'! lol

  • Used to watch this EVERY MORNING in Dallas circa 1970. AWESOME! Cuckoo Cuckoo!! Diaper Man sounds like Popeye!

  • "THIS IS A VERY LOST AND FORGOTTEN CLASSIC 60's CARTOON...evidently this was NEVER picked up for syndication after it was cancelled around 1968? You can find 'Bootleg' copies floating around...GREAT ARTWORK!

  • Mighty Heroes was syndicated as part of the regular Terrytoons package (Mighty Mouse, et al). Problems was not many stations bought them.

  • I loved this cartoon as a kid. IIRC, Was'nt it apart of the Might Mouse cartoon show?

  • I loved these guys growing up-cool theme song,too.

  • I can hear it now, Kelse Grammer as Rope man, Gilbert Godfreid as Diaper man, Jim Carry as Cuckoo man, Danny Devito as Tornado man, Owen Wilson as Strong man and introducing Bubblegirl.

  • Danny Devito should be diaper man for obvious reasons! lol

  • I remember watching this as a kid and having no idea what a diaper was

  • hahah cute!

  • Nah, Tornado Man all the way. :)

  • diaper man rules!!!!!!!!

  • at 35 years old this is my all time favourite...theme song and all. they should really think about bringing this to cartoon network/boomerang just for us that remember.

  • i always thought stuff like this was done only by nazi's

  • Wow, the trippy color backrounds are awesome!

I dosed to this cartoon in the 60's.

    Still yippin' today at 51.

  • i absolutely LOVE this theme song XD it brings back a ton of memories. i wish i could download it so i could keep it on my PC forever XD

  • I loved this cartoon as a kid, but as an adult the thing I love most about it is the theme song :-) Listen closely to it, and you will notice that the beat moves at twice the speed of the main melody :-) Way cool (from a geek POV)

  • Much better than that Japanimation crap they're palmng off now days.

You have to be like a cultist to even know what they hell is going on.

And half the time the don't talk, just glare at each other.

  • I love these guys, have for most of my life, I was so pleased, to find one of the cartoons, of my childhood being loved by a new generation, along with other classics, like The Impossibles, Frankenstein Jr.& others, I hope new discoverys of classic cartoons, will continue to be uploaded by fans.
