  • Nice video. I was hiking on the Mogollon Rim in Arizona and was caught in a snowstorm. Check out the HD footage. youtube.com/superstitionsummit/

  • I climbed this last week, fantastic trip! It is called Hua Shan. This is called the cliff edge path and it costs 30yuan (£3 / $5). What makes it more difficult is that you have to pass people on these ledges because it's not a round trip, you have to go to the end and then back on yourself, takes ~30minutes. Spectacular views!

  • love it ..

  • Confuscius say "one slip and you're fuckto" ... :)

  • OMG my hands are all sweaty now. What a beautiful place, thanks for the video

  • I enjoy finding attitudes like yours which are to rare. Please take my salute to you.

  • We need more open minded and thoughtfully constructed views like this.

  • Hua Mountain is a perfect place for Taoist to seek seclusion and harmonization into the heaven. Most of the pathways were built over 700 years ago. Imagine the ancient people went through the paths had no iron chains to hold onto. The view is stunning, the thrilling hiking experience is more rewarding for those who like challenges. This is a unique place to be!

  • I don't know you but I have respect for you after seeing this.

  • I very curious on how long the hike would have taken?

  • @buddhablest now if you go. it will take you around 5 to 6 hours to the west peak which is most dangerous

  • @buddhablest now it takes around 6 to 7 hour

  • there is no way I would cross that path in winter!

  • I bet you really feel alive doing that. Crazy indeed.

  • Thats quite awesome indeed. I would be shitting my pants if I was on top of those wooden paths... not because its wood, but because its Made In China.

  • on the other side of the mountain there is an escalator leading straight to the temple up top.

  • @FagsLoveCountrymusic is there another way to get up?

  • this is the stuff i want to to so bad! i hate being stuck at home...and since i just graduated im not looking forward to college and a job...i just want to travel and see the world! lol

  • Is this the guy from word travels? LOVE that show, almost as good as departures...

  • how do you get to the trailhead? like what city do you fly into

  • Terracotta grottoes

  • @SCOOPTALK margoqml is right - it can be a bit scary but it is not terribly dangerous. You are always attached to the rope by two carabinas and holding on to a separate chain. I did this a few weeks ago and it was okay. Scary going up and down but along wasn't too bad at all, and as long as you do the carabinas right you are never detached from the mountain.

  • I'm sure it's amazing, and I might go there in a couple of weeks, but the Alps have 100s if not 1000s of "via ferratas" just as exposed and exciting.

  • @SCOOPTALK I work with climbing equipment on a daily basis and wires and chains, even the thinnest ones, as long as maintained every 10 years or so, make it SAFE. I've seen enough of that route videos/images/stories already and as far as I know, there isn't a part of the path where you're not attached to something. (I'm talking about the bit from 2:00 onwards). Of course I don't know about those wooden planks but as long as you're using your lanyards, you're not going to fall period

  • First of all, this IS rather safe, maybe except for the icy part, but you use harness and there are chains and wires running along,no way anything can happen to you.Scary- yes,but not really dangerous!

As for comparing to El Camino del Rey in Spain by some- that path is actually damn easy and maybe just a bit scary at the rails, most people are able to do it(it's listed as Grade 1)so no way one compare it to THIS via ferrata.

Finally- the views are amazing! Can't wait till I can afford a trip there!

  • this hike is incredible! i do want to do it.. all thou i thinki might get stuck there on some point..hehehe...

  • 1 auge in der sonne 1 auge hier....

  • What song is this?

  • Nice adventure dude :-)

  • Woooooooooooow! Great post dude!!!

  • Keep in mind that people are attached to a wire that goes along. Very much like any mountain climber. So ...nice view though.

  • Very cool...thanks for posting!

  • Confucious also say, "man with hand in pocket (on icy slope), feel cocky!"

  • @noclouds111 Hahahahahahahaha XD

  • what's the music paired with this?

  • @quixotic0ne 'ALL IN A DAY' AND 'CALM BY THE ARTIST - MAX SERPENTINI

  • The original wood planks were built by ancient taoist priests, who really ran around without the railing nor the safety harness

  • What is the background music?

  • @Bournetolive 'ALL IN A DAY' AND 'CALM BY MAX SERPENTINI

  • I wonder about the person that applied to the job description looking for construction workers to build that "side"walk... My goodness, the person that built that...

  • @AnonaNicole Anona, this reminds me of a story about an adept of high rank who was a friend of the Zen monk, Hakuin. Hakuin said that his friend tried to jump across a very wide canyon, but failed (and died).

The person who Hakuin had related this story to, thought that the masters were infallible, and asked Hakuin how this death could have occurred.

Hakuin replied, "it was a very human thing to do!"
