I was with a deaf woman who received her hearing back! FEB 2004! She was had gone with a group to a prayer/preaching service-by well-known preacher-(this one's for real!) @FHomeBrew Like the video says, just because God CAN heal someone doesn't mean he will. Not everyone will be physically healed. Why? Frankly, I don't know, and in truth no one does. Maybe their death results in something greater (i.e. maybe their death starts a movement that saves thousands, etc.). But even then it is sometimes beyond our comprehension. But then that's at the source of our misunderstanding. We cannot hope to understand a God beyond our human abilities to reason.

@bruesh I used to believe in God, prayed him to save my grandfather, but you know what? He didn't.

A few years after that event, I started believing in myself and in the ones i love and care for. I have lived happily since then.

I'm not judging people who actually find comfort in religion. I just find it strange that people would still believe in miracles despite the tragedies that occur on a daily basis, and the evidence of their impossibility.

God gave us free will and that is why people make bad decisions and do terrible and/or stupid things. God didn't give us free will because he doesn't love us enough. In WW1 when the soldiers were wounded they relied on Morphine to dull their pain. At one point the morphine supplies ran low. The solution was to give the soldiers sugar pills. Guess what? Matthew quotes Isaiah 53, so it is not taken out of context and it does work!
