There was a quiet rule in the NHL that you don't hit Gretzky or at least very hard. The league was really trying to sell the game. I remember in the early 80's around 82 or 83 when Montreal was playing Edmonton and Larry Robinson had him lined up and could have hit him hard. What Larry did though was slowly push him into the boards and it was like a hug. Anyone who tells you differently about this backroom rule is lying.

the check was clean, bobby orr was checked by pat quin and knocked him out, quin ws not blacklisted, and bobby learned to keep his head up, and spoke up right away that it was a clean check, this gretzky is a fraud.
