@NathanF11989 They don't really work as well as they were supposed to, as I gather that they were originally going to be superimposed over wartime newsreel footage of German tanks, parachutists, refugees and so forth to act as an ironic contrast.
It seems the BBC management didn't approve - there's quite an interesting bit on the BBC Archive website about all the correspondence (I can't link it here, as it won't let me).
I wonder if there was something they were trying to say with the translucent almost ghost like figures.

@Tethran It was probably trying to insinuate that these guys were the worst nightmare of Britain's enemies. That's my take on it anyway. :D
