I hate to ruin your evening, but the Victorian women made the Flapper possible. The Flapper threw Women's Lib to the winds and elected to make pleasure, not the fight for Womens Rights, her goal. Her daughter became the appliance oriented suburban housewife that gave birth to the bra burning 2nd generation women's libber.

The flapper was shocking, because she so openly catered to the idea of sexuality as man defined it.

The Flapper was not a liberator, she was a game player.
