I am continually fascinated by how Bjork reconstructs previous albums from tour to tour. This song is probably the best example. Listen to it with Matmos and Zeena Perkins, then with an accompanying orchestra and here. Simply exceptional!

Well said! I'm equally fascinated. One thing I love is how different beat instrumentation for this song sounds different between various performances/performance eras. The Vespertine one was much less controlled than this one... this one is closer to the video mix, and yet sounds noticeably different. It feels somewhat evocative of wood blocks...

actually what's wrong with most independent artists is their lack of collaboration on music. almost all indie music is crap. what's great about bjork is that she brings in that icelandic touch, which means collaborating with great artists to create something new and original. Slowblow and Mum created a great album together.
