  • the ramones were shit and are you seriously saying the e street band started playing after the ramones lol? lunatic

  • Pretty obvious the Boss knows there was no E-Street if not for the Ramones. This guy knows more about rock 'n' roll than practically anybody, and he loves all of it.

  • like a boss

  • im surprised so many springsteen fans know the lyrics to a ramones song haha

  • i think bruce is a true punk ,,,he certainly loves the music.long live bruce

  • The king of audience participation.

  • A Perfect Storm of perfect bands!

  • Nice one Bruce!!!

  • That was so weird. I tip my hat to Brooce, clearly a song and a band he loves, and the audience were well into it, but most of the band, er, maybe not so much?

  • I just can't get past the fact that I hate Bruce Springsteen.

  • too slow.

  • Bruce... A Ramones Fan????

  • @ermac59 Bruce loves Punk music. often covers the Clashes 'London Calling'

  • better to listen to the real thing

  • At this point in the show, Bruce declares "Can you 'Stump The Band'" and the crowd sends requests to the stage via signs. So, there is no rehearsal. No nothing. Just go with it and have fun.

  • Best thing is the crowd singing along .

  • This shows how big The Ramones were. Bruce plays a totally diferent type of music, but be's still influentied by them!!!

  • And this would be why New Jersey needs to be nuked off the face of the planet.

  • look at the fuckin pionist and his hand gestures at the beginning

  • @subimeyouthBJJ He is gesturing the chord changes to the rest of the band. This song consists of three chords which can be described via numbers (I, IV, and V). Odds are they listened to this song backstage before playing it. Maybe they rehearsed it once, but likely not. So the organ player is making sure everyone makes the changes together.

  • fucking cool. one of my favorite all-time artists paying tribute to my all-time favorite band.

  • Wow, the audience gives me chills! Amazing!

  • alguien que pueda ayudar donde se realizo este concierto solo doy que es del 2009, si saben donde se puede bajar para tenerlo. gracias

  • Why do people post such garbage? Terrible video, terrible audio. Why bother?

  • music isn't always serious... sometimes it can be just for fun...THIS IS FUN!!!!

Well done Bruce... God Bless Joey!

  • thank you Bruce!!!

  • WAY TO GO BRUCE!!!! THUMBS UP!!!!

  • I appreciate Springstreen respecting the Ramones. But w/ all due respect...this cover sucks.

  • freaks me out

  • I was at this show and it was awesome. The band were challenged to do it by someone in the audience, practiced for about 2 minutes and launched the song. The audience rocked out... great night!

  • That's the worst thing I've ever heard.

  • @SpudMills

it most certainly is.....is there a law against this or something?...there should be ...just wrong on so many levels.

  • Amazing! I wish the quality was better though. Bruce should do a cover album like some musicians do. They would be great.

  • bruce wrote a song for the ramones, but his manager wouldn't allow him to give it to them. "Hungry Heart" was for Joey

  • clarence is so fat he has to sit down on a stool

  • @bookmdano No ..he had 2 hip replacements. He's close to 70 now.

  • I NEED to be sedated! Horrible! Some people should keep their "tributes" to themselves.

  • Comment removed

  • Both bands are great but this really doesn't connect,

  • i think this is hilarious

  • He took all the energy out of the song.

  • @Ablutophobic

Maybe it's the fact that you're watching it on YouTube and you're not actually there. The guys in the front row would probably disagree with you

  • Yeah, your probably right, the show is always way better. But I'm just getting the same vibe I get from the ramones.

  • Who do you think is better: Bruce or Michael Buble?

  • @KleWdSide I have no idea who your talking about.

  • i was there

  • Wow i really did not see this coming.

  • gtfo

  • I take my hat off to Bruce for this sign of respect to the greatest band ever to come from America the Ramones. What we need is more people & serious talent artists like Bruce speading the Ramones Gospel

  • people...bruce isn't trying to out-perform the ramones at this song... he covered it... u should take it as a compliment, not a way of trying to out-do the ramones

  • i am huge Bruce fan, but... it is hard to beat Ramones when it comes to this song. that song represents Ramones. I would like to hear Clash rocking that song

  • @vitotiv the clash did somtimes do a small segment of `blitzkreig` in the early days .i don`t rate this cover of `sedated `but fair play to bruce for acknowledging the ramones

  • Like you would know, obviously not by your shortsightedness!!!

  • Yeah, because you're not biased at all....Just look at your username!

  • I gave you the thumbs up but really this is a thumbs down. Bruce is The Boss. Therefore he is worthy.

  • Sux

  • Crap

  • blasphemy.

  • The best part of the video. Is the fact the crowd knows all the words and the song.

  • "Hungry Heart" was originaly written for the ramones

  • I read that Bruce met Joey at CBGB's and offered them the song. Jon Landau found out about it and said "That's going to be OUR hit song and no one elses!".

  • God, it's funny to see Sil from the Sopranos playing onstage, haha

  • "Just when I thought I was out... they pull me back in!"

  • Well I think they fucked it up, but RESPECT. Little Steven rocks. Would rock history have been different if Bruce had gone through with his idea of handing the Ramones his first top 10 hit, "hungry heart" instead of recording it himself? It worked for Patti Smith with "because the night"...

  • Well, they like The Ramones. It's not the E street style, so let's just leave it as a tribute of sorts to The Ramones. On the other hand, The Ramones never reached the level of (take your pick): Thunder Road, Jungleland, Backstreets, Darkness on the Edge of Town, Born in the USA, Racing in the Streets, Out in the Street, Badlands, etc. You get my drift.

  • He's onstage in front of tens of thousands of people who paid a hundred bucks each to see him. He is actually taking requests from the crowd. They are dancing, singing, having a good time because he has whipped them into a rock and roll frenzy..............exactly what have you accomplished in the music industry that tops this??

  • I just farted.

  • oh, so whitty

  • Bruce Springsteen playing Ramones?

    o.O

this is fucking rare and awesome

  • todos a hacer covers de ramones carajo!!

  • Quality stuff!

  • Yeahhhh Bruce, you´re the best!!! I see you on Friday 3rd here in Germany!!!

    5*****

  • I like Bruce, but that was awful.

  • Not too bad but pls punk music is not for E Street Band ...

  • I agree

  • Not punk!

    It's rock'n' roll

  • Odjebantus... Not sure how you can say a cover of the Ramones isn't punk... not an argument you want to push...

  • Great audience-participation! Needed a sax-break from Clarence, but "you can't have everything" LOL!

  • 1234!!!

  • I WAS THERE- AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • The Ramones were the greatest rock band ever! EVER!

  • BRUCE IS GOD.

  • i was right at the back

  • strong. strong to quite strong.

  • This is awesome!

  • I WAS THERE! it was 100% on the spot

  • the song hungry heart was realy ment for the ramones look at this video

Ramones - End Of The Century - Extras 1

and at 2min 20 sec joey explands what happend with bruce

Joey ramone asked bruce to wright them a song (hungry heart) but he never gave it to the ramones.

  • i'm gonna try london calling in philly on the 29th

  • please do. i'll be there that night

  • you got it dude in my old city roxborough rules

  • Rock On man, London Calling on the official website :-)

  • you got your wish. thanks

  • I WAS THERE!!!

  • The best parts of this video:

    1. Charlie calling out the chords to Roy with his hands, hold up the 1 and 5

    2. Soozie rockin' the F out on guitar. Love her, love her playing.

    3. The call and response from the Boston crowd was PERFECT.

There's younger bands, more technically proficient, more adventurous bands, but round for round, pound for pound, you can't go to a greater rock and roll show in the world than Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band.

  • haha this is awesome!

  • Bruce and Stevie are, at heart, punk rockers.

  • i went to both nights the second was better

  • yeah, this is BOSS!

  • Bet Stevie picked this one to play!!! Great stuff. Keep it comin' boys!

  • Actually, it was a stump-the-band challenge. Bruce has been taking requests the last few days by collecting all the posterboards from the first two rows. (I was there.) He did ZZ Top the previous night. But you're on the right track - before the song, Stevie, Nils, and Bruce huddled just so Stevie could make sure they had it down.

  • great stuff Bruuuuuuuuce

  • This is so cool. You go Bruce!!

  • Best cover EVER loved going to this concert~!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • It was pretty good indeed.

Have you watched "Bad Luck" with Mike Ness last week in LA? It was pretty good too.

  • This was so awesome -- I was at both Boston shows. Thought the night before was great when they did ZZ Top's "I'm bad, I'm Nationwide" but his was better!

    Long live the Ramones!

  • Thanks for an awesome vid!

  • I went to this concert yesturday, it was AWESOME

  • This was tremendous last night! Love this angle, too, you can see Charlie calling out the chords with his left hand!

  • That is just awesome

  • haha awesome.

  • Great,great....

    Come to Argentina!!
