I loved the animation, but the art was just...blegh. Not in general, but in regards to the Naruto series. If this where a show where that was just the normal art style I would probably love it, but after a couple hundred episodes of Naruto/NS, suddenly changing the art style to a more comical form during what's supposed to be one of the most serious moments of the series just feels awkward.

...Still great battle animation though, aside from Whack-a-Pain, Sonic!Pain, and the rule breaking.

Rasengan is implied to be so dangerous because it causes severe internal damage rather than piercing or major blunt force damage. And no matter how durable the characters might be on the outside (Such as when taking major blows), they're still vulnerable to internal damage.

...But then again this is the anime, so I doubt that they put a whole lot of reasoning into their filler material.

why do so many people hate the animation here? it was fucking EPIC! my favorite fight in Naruto along with 3rd Hokage vs 1st&2nd Hokage. It was well received in Japan and by loyal anime fans. If you look at it closely there are quite a lot of episodes that has a similar animation style to this one... For example 'sasuke vs deidara', 'naruto vs sasuke', 'sasuke vs orochimaru (chunin exam)', 'lee vs garra' etc. The studio use this animation style when there are major battles!!! This is consider good animation!!! Its awesome!!!!!!
