Farrokh Bulsara...perfect voice, classically trained on the piano, songwriter, designed Queens logo...collector of Japanese art..Beautiful,shy sweet and yes ..sexy... part of something so perfect. Brian May Guitar Master Brilliant song writter, Roger Taylor great on drums and that falsetto John Deacon wrote some of Queen's most memorible songs and amazing bass player.. I miss your presence Freddie Mercury..I admire how you lived...and died on your termsGlad I got to see Queen LIVE
This song is just way sexy!! Goes along with Freddie for sure!! Queen is one phenomenal band!! Damn I miss Freddie!! R.I.P. friend!! Forever missed and forever loved!! ♥♥
Am I the only one who hears just a hint of "Won't Get Fooled again" in this song? Brian May said the Who was a big influence on Queen. Both great bands.
@brianpage100 I don't know about Won't Get Fooled Again but this song is very Who-like. The rhythm and lead guitar work, the drums, the vocals and the dynamics of the song make it sound like it would fit well on the Tommy album. I'm thinking Amazing Journey.
Regardless how many bands, how much money, Lazers... and how many shows I've been involved with, this was the best of all Stage openings I've ever seen. (I mean including Pink Floyd, Zep, all of them), Technically, it was LOW-TECH, I've spent my life trying to learn the skills to create MAGIC on stage. All because of this song on the Sheer Heart Attack Tour, in an intimate venue.
I was there, for the "Sheer Heart Attack" Tour, this song was the opening song. I wish there was full-live video. It was THE BEST Stage show, I've ever seen (and I've seen alot). Imagine, total blackout and the first line "now I'm here", and a spot shines on Brian May, then next & next "now, I'm here", finally, Freddie Mercury. The most genius I've ever seen in any stage production ever. (I've seen alot). It literally appeared that one guy jumped from one side of the stage to the other!
This song always impressed me. Especially the way the "Don't I love you so, yes you made me live again" part is cut in half, and used to lead to the guitar solo's chord progression. It's fucking clever, and sounds awesome. That's what I love with Queen, their songs are well-composed, it's more than "let's do a verse, then a chorus, then a verse, then a chorus, then a solo, then a chorus". The variations are very intelligently though, and sound great.
i know freddy mercury has the best voice of all time, but this song is very slow, check out Def Leppard's performance at the tribute to FM, its fast and Brian May does a great solo, dont blame me, but Def Leppard made it better live
@CentraCross you know, queen are so great, so you cant not steal, and use their ultimate works, it's like newton in math, you use his formulas so many times... so i think queen is somhow a kind of newton for the musican
@betafall He he. Well since music is evolving backwards (...) It would probably be such that Elvis is Hawking, Beatles is Einstein, Zeppelin is Newton and Queen in that case would have to be Galilei...
I've just looked up the lyrics to this. I can't believe since the age of 18 in 1975 I thought 'Down in the dungeon is Peaches and me' was 'Down in the dungeon is Peters and Lee'. Hell am I disappointed......!
I loved Freddie's earlier looks, with the long hair, then shorter but still somewhat long. He looked much older than the other band members when he cut his hair short and grew the mustache. But the VOICE! Angel sweet in his youth, then full on adult voice, and both were and always be the greatest of rock'n'roll singing voices. Nobody can match Freddie, even now.
From Mother Mercury to the Seven Seas of Rhye, Blue Powder Monkeys and the Black Queen. These guys were the real deal. Screamin' Rock-n-Roll faerie tales. Give 'em a Sheer Heart Attack in heaven Freddy!
hagasbar: que bien sincronizaste el audio de estudio con un recital de la epoca del disco,se ve que lo hacian mas ceñido a la original pero muy meritorio lo tuyo. Saludos!

funnily enough, i've just spent an entire evening in a pub, ranting to a fellow lifelong queen fan, about how wrong it all went after 'news of the world'. glad you agree.
I think maybe after 'Jazz' in fairness, but yeah, thereabouts. Too much of the early stuff is passed over. I skived off school to be at the 'We Are The Champions' video shoot!!!
@FergR NO!!!!!!!! Ever listened to the album Innuendo? To my opinion the best album of queen, because of two perfect songs (innuendo and The show must go on) and the rest of the songs (These are the days of our lives, headlong etc.) are all good, except for that bloody delilah song.. And bijou is odd...
Sounds like you prefer the hideous pastiche 'Stadium Rock' band they became. To me they will always be the tight rock'n'roll band that produced the quality of 'Seven Seas..','Now I'm Here', 'Brighton Rock', through to the 'Day At The Races' stuff. Played to a proper dancing crowd at The Rainbow or somesuch not a distant band of minatures on a stage 100 yards away....
Freddie was and still is the best performer on stage, its such a pity that I am from this era and haven't got the chance to see them live, and tell Queen including Freddie; how much they meant and still mean for me ... R.I.P for your music is the best and never to be another ... love you in our hearts <3
and your legacy and music shall be passed down to generations, I know I will even if I don't have any kids ... love you Queen and god Save the Queen <3
I remember buying 'Sheer Heart Attack' , the album that 'Now I'm Here' was on back in 1974. I just turned 50 and the song is as great as ever. Queens earliest stuff was the best.
Near your age - remember the same thing - buying SHEER HEART ATTACK in Australia - agreed - earliest stuff cannot be beat. Though heavily layered and musically complex, still retained such an arrogant roughness.
Plymouth you need to get your ears checked man...this song and Arnold Layne sound nothing alike...though the intros are somewhat similar. but that's about it.. to call it a "blatant copy" is stretching credulity
On Queen Live at Wembley, Roger said he dread that song because it was the most exhausting to play--this is most likely the reason why Brighton Rock was before it, and Is This the World We Created was after it--to give Roger (and John) a break!!!
just a little fact, because you mentioned how it was probably exhausting to play!!
You know, I am honestly not sure.... I just know that on Queen: Live at Webley, he mentioned that song was the most exhausting...but I should look into that!
After posting my comment I watched the Wembley interviews and Roger said Now I'm Here was hard. He didn't say it was the hardest, though. There was another interview where he said Staying Power is just about the hardest song on drums.
Yeah. At first I listened to the song and sounded like a simple beat, then I listened again. There are bunches and bunches of accented ghost notes in the song. All of that going on is one thing that makes the song have such a cool grove to it.
Very awesome song, though I personally thought by the 80s their stuff went a little off... they became too cheesy, if you ask me. To me, The Doors were a better band - Jim Morrison was a mad genius, while Freddie was excellent, he was more of a showman, which was perfect for those glam-rock days. May they both rest in peace.
NOT SAY THAT AGAIN! YOU SAID: "BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY IS A BAD SONG"! BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY IS A GREAT SONG! BUT FOR ME, THE BEST SONG QUEEN HAVE RECORDED IS GOOD OLD-FAHIONED LOVERBOY or MADE IN HEAVEN
Queen must have been BIG fans of Mott the Hoople! This song sound a LOT like Mott and even mentions Mott in the lyric. I wish Mott had received as much attention as Queen....the two bands toured together and recorded at least once that I know of.
What the fuck at 3/4 of these comments?

Queen must have been BIG fans of Mott the Hoople! This song sound a LOT like Mott and even mentions Mott in the lyric. I wish Mott had received as much attention as Queen....the two bands toured together and recorded at least once that I know of.
