I'm so glad to see Queen Ida, Al Rapone and the whole band here on YouTube. IT brings back happy times at Club Zayante in the Santa Cruz Mountains. The Queen deserves all the recognition and awards for her contributions to U.S. music.
"Queen Ida," my aunt, is in Washington, D.C. today after being announced as (1 of 11) 2009 NEA (National Endowment for the Arts) recipient(s). This is the nation's highest honor in the Arts. Thursday, September 24th at the music center in Maryland, she will accept, quite possibly from the President of the U.S.A. (if rumor turns to fact.) Congradulations! We are all SO very proud of our Zydeco "QUEEN" for everything she has accomplished in her lifetime and on this achievement award!!!
@tobarrr If that's your Dad, you must be the little baby who shared the Le Rue van with us, or maybe that was your big brother? I enjoyed working with your Dad for a year back in 1990. Hope you are all well.
Saw her earlier today!

If you can sit still and listen to Zydeco music, you need to have your pulse checked!
