what. in the name of... Blender has come a long way in the past few years but now its equalling that to very expensive software's of today... I'm impressed xD
I did a remix using a portion of your video. Thanks for sharing this awesome video with the world. Creative Common Artists are the future creatives who are shifting the balance of creativity. Much success in all you do. Keep on creating.
blender is superb, I'm learning the apps now but looking at the overview I think probably atleast 5 to 10 years before I can do this or maybe not.haha
Looks awesome. I think it's gonna be great considering there is practically no budget to work with. I know the DP for this film and he does really great work.
acting , depends .... acting could have been done better.... ALOT better ....cliche moments too many cheesy too CHEESY :) but the blender fx .... totally FLAWLESS and AWESOME .
I'm not going to lie, this seems to be a pretty creative plot-line for a movie; lots of potential! The Blender work in here is pretty stinkin' awesome too, if I might add.
@lukechalfantt You should check out Ian's previous stuff, including "Space Men Belong In The Future, Probably", which seems to be about the same tone they're going for with this flick. Maybe a bit more comedic. The camp factor is strong with this film, but in a positive way.
@lukechalfantt This was made on extremely low budget using mostly friends and is completely indie work. Of course it could be better but I doubt either you or I could do this
@michael092 Yes, I respect that as an esthetic desition, but I for me it was too much. I understand filters specially blue and green are a factor of the sci-fi genre, and it is cool. But in general those filters are subtle, In the movie "The One" with Jet Li, each dimension has it´s color filter, but it´s barely visible. But guys! it is a great project, we need stuff like that for pushing the blender community!
damn it, I know it was made almost without budget, I know it was made by volunteers, it looks really nice, the effects and everything. but there are so many mistakes in the acting and other stuff. but i won't say more, because I appreciate the effort that this artist put into it. it looks good, that's all what I want to say.
@georgbernier Hokay so... technically I'm not allowed to complain, because I had nothing to do with the acting. In fact, I do want to say thanks for complimenting the effects.
However, I would suggest that if you wind up watching the film (and I hope you do!), don't approach it with too much skepticism. You'll enjoy it more if you take it for what it is- and based on your first sentence, you already know what it is.
Ultimately, it's just good old fun. Also, again, thanks. :D
@rolyatetan yeah, i really look forward to watch it. it's just that i couldn't avoid catching some little issues. but I didn't want to mention them, because I truly appreciate the effort you put to pruduce something like this. so, keep going and man, that's more than what I have done. im just too perfectionist.
@georgbernier Haha, no worries! I just want to reassure you that it will indeed be a really fun film. I hope you enjoy watching it as much as we enjoyed making it.
People might criticize on acting, or effects shots not being as convincing but i think this is as good as it can get. The major thing this movie lacked is a budget of a few million dollars. That could've given it top notch acting and vfx.
Given the constraints, they've done an amazing job.
I use maya, its what im used to but i have to agree blender users are putting out some high quality stuff.
