At first I thought he sang "He got 13 channels of Loretta Lynn" and that made me happy cuz i'm a BIG Loretta Lynn fan but then I looked up the lyrics and it said that he sang "13 channels of WRESTLING" ;P
And at 1:22 it sounds like he said Loretta Lynn but he said rattle acording to the lyrics...
WOW! I always liked this song since I heard it a few years ago on a Country Line Dance CD I've got but I've never seen the video before! What a cool, funny video! I love it. George is awesome!
@StoogeWatcher@shelton705 I know. It's just funny to me that what use to be high tech is now low tech and out of date. What I find even funnier is Brad Paisley's online mentioning MySpace. It's not even that old of a song but no one uses MySpace even more. :P
ANNA COWGILL & BAHMAN SHOKOUHI-State of Ill vs ANNA COWGILL for defrauding elderly; tried to run elderly man down who sued her & won in court for forcible entry and detainer;gave vacant lot to authorities as Attorney General's investigators looked for her;warrants for her arrest, abandoned two minor children while in hiding; unpaid child support;heroin user, stay in mental hospital to attempt to get out of prosectuion by state;Be aware who is insulting and posting your info on Internet pubicly!
George Jones as the Terminator- awesome, simply awesome! His voice did act like a finely tuned machine for 50 years, and his body withstood more abuse than 10 men and he is still walkin and talkin at almost 80 years old- maybe he IS the terminator? I think if he actually understood how great he is his circuits would overload! lol
Betty please pass on the message - For Papa Mike from all of us down state! You know we love you and cant wait to see you again. here is the video of your song...you know the one that always makes us smile and think of you!
Songs like this, "It's Finally Friday", and "I Don't Need Your Rocking Chair" are too gimmicky, and can only help to degrade George's reputation. Kinda sucks that the record company made him record such crap.
i grew up listenin to this song. when i was little i LOVED it. i had this song on cassette when i was like 8 or maybe even younger. and after all these years High Tech Redneck came into my head after tryin to figure out what it was called and how it went. im so hapy lol
Tammy got it right: the boy who walked down the traintracks to get to town to make some money singing -- George Jones -- is as good a singer as there ever was.
If he was really a high tech redneck, he'd have three Blu-Ray DVRs and Super HDTV and instead of that ancient newspaper, he'd be using a slick iPhone. :)

they picked this song over a Dale Watson song "Hot Dang" for the single and album. Country music fans might rightly be annoyed and ashamed.

It's funny because none of these devices are considered high-tech. In fact, it's all out-of-date.
JJohnston4Life 6 months ago
@JJohnston4Life Yea but u gotta think, when's the last time u went out into the boondocks and saw this stuff lol

Darn him for not having an eye into the future. 20 years from now, the devices we have won't be high-tech either.
shelton705 3 months ago
@JJohnston4Life You do have to consider this song came out in 1994.

I know this was made in the 80s, but it has some irony when you listen to him speaking about VCRs and about being a 'high-tech redneck'
Spartan69139 2 years ago
This song came out in 1993.
GoldenUrethra 1 year ago
my bad. But still, the time gap has created a bit of irony when you're a 'high-tech redneck' by having a VCR.
