Witnesses are largely part of antisocial communities that believe their lifestyle somehow sets them apart from the rest of humanity. The reason people don't like them is because their practices and beliefs actively set themselves on a pedestal. At least xtians and Catholics keep the vain religious pride mostly to themselves, and can be shut up or persuaded to think otherwise when their beliefs are incompatible with modern thought. Witnesses participate in cult ideas filled of esoteric egotism.
I DO know that SOME Jews became Witnesses. Find installments of one documentary on YouTube, search for "knockingdocumentary" - it was made by somebody whose Mother was a witnesses, it is quite good and covers decent ground. But look especially to that Jewish man who became a Witness while in a camp. The last few shots of him, sitting serenely on a children's turn-about, it says a lot that somebody can have this attitude and outlook, considering what he went through.

Putting spiritual goals before material goals, what a PROTECTION that is, from the aimless pursuit that most of the World that seems more like being in a race that you can't escape, a trap. There is real PRACTICAL WISDOM in avoided keeping up with the Joneses or getting higher on a corporate ladder.

Christian neutrality is an extremely important policy among us. Not voting and being no part of this World has at times had unexpected advantages, far too numerous. But in times of conflict, particular civil wars, our brothers have at times been spared because they were recognised for not taking sides.
Racism among us I can gladly claim it doesn't exist. Look into Apartheid in South Africa and that there was ZERO segregation among JWs, toilets and all in Kingdom Halls and when having three conventions a year (JWs are the most convention minded people in the World). I do not believe evrything I read or hear about JW's. I do my own independant research on them. My sources are very wide and varied. Can the same be said for JWs? No! Their one and only source is the WTS. Yet when we venture our views on the JW's, we instantly hear "LIAR"! I for one am sick and tired of hearing JWs scream "LIAR" everytime someone disagrees with them. Your JW version of the "truth" is different from the bibles version. @boyamIhappy Our bible may be different in that it put God's name=Jehovah back in about 7,000 times. Translators back hundreds of years ago took God's holy name out, substituting 'GOD' or 'LORD' instead. So then many generations never really got to know his name. Jesus taught us to PRAY for his name to be hallowed, or holy, sacred-Matthew 6:9,10. Knowing his name is essential for SALVATION! = Romans 10:13-15. So we are doing a most honorable thing in returning God's name to the sacred scriptures
I am a Christian with very strongly held views, which is how it's supposed to be. What sort of pathetic Christian would I be if I did not firmly hold to my bible based beliefs? my sister is a JW, hence why I know so much about them. I notice certain reactions from the JWs here that are so like my sister. Whenever I point out to my sister som ething she doesnt like, she will scream out in a purely venomous tone that I am a liar. Her face contorts, she screams at the top of her voice. But, the same can be said of jeremiah..joshua...Jesus, etc..there was no J in hebrew..but, those names are transliterated...so, the name Jehovah is the most known english transliteration of God's name. You say you only have to read God's word to know the truth? Read acts 8:26-40. Why did this man not get the truth from what he was reading?

Beth Sarim was tied in with another prophecy that failed to come true, much to the WTS embarassment.

And I'm aware that at one time there was a mistaken belief that a prophecy concerning the resurrection of the partriarchs (noah, abraham, david, etc) would happen in 1925. Some say the mansion was bought for that reason. I have not found any definitive evidence on that. Rutherford was told by his doctors he had to live in a dry and temperate climate to stave off his illness...
San Diego was chosen..and that is where beth serim was. AS for cars?..I'm not sure of that either..surely he needed a car. As for a driver?..there is no doubt that he was not alone in san diego..so, if another brother drove him..that doesn't mean anything. As for the great depression, that didn't begin until 1929. I'm not sure of the dates when the mansion was bought..or when he went there to live. AS for being embarrassed? We struggle to understand prophecy..and we have made mistakes..

Why the effort, resources, money, assaults and even worse death throughout mankind's history to wipe out God. JW's have dealt with prosecution, prison, ridiculed endlessly n still do all over the world. They never killed, assault, or buy governments in Jehovah's name. By acknowledging the signs, shows you not only value your life but others as well. It doesn't mean u are a brainwashed zombie. Instead of worshiping a god of choice, you WILL be worshiping a governmental system. People put faith in their god. Take their god and they are left putting faith into government leaders.The world is in bad shape thanks to world leaders and that's w/limited control. Witnesses are largely part of antisocial communities that believe their lifestyle somehow sets them apart from the rest of humanity. The reason people don't like them is because their practices and beliefs actively set themselves on a pedestal. At least xtians and Catholics keep the vain religious pride mostly to themselves, and can be shut up or persuaded to think otherwise when their beliefs are incompatible with modern thought. Witnesses participate in cult ideas filled of esoteric egotism.

I DO know that SOME Jews became Witnesses. Find installments of one documentary on YouTube, search for "knockingdocumentary" - it was made by somebody whose Mother was a witnesses, it is quite good and covers decent ground. But look especially to that Jewish man who became a Witness while in a camp. The last few shots of him, sitting serenely on a children's turn-about, it says a lot that somebody can have this attitude and outlook, considering what he went through.

... the decease where the witnesses refused to work on military weapons. We seem to forget that many sent to concentration camps were required to work, indeed the camp's notorious motto "Work Makes You Free" when in fact they were worked to death on 600 calories a day.
The stand they took also meant they got benefits others didn't. The SS ended up trusting to do other things that did not violate their faith. But they should did realise that is was better to segregate the Witnesses....

Some have complained being a JW is being too strict, but maybe they have not been able to develop a full aprreciation of the benefits. Some do leave, only to return and they are of course welcomed.

... and while usually not otherwise hard to find a place to stay, we truly were in the wrong place at the wrong time. We got to a phone booth and looked up the local number. Within half an hour we had a late night supper and a loft to sleep in - and delighted hosts when they realised we had come all the way from Australia. It was wonderful.
Also, knowing that whatever responsibility we may have in the "congregation" every brother IS a BROTHER and can be addressed by their first name. ANYBODY!

Note "in every nation" - God is NOT a Nationalistic God that blesses wars or weapons (look at the history for an unnumbered examples). Such a thing has no place among Christians.
Christian neutrality is an extremely important policy among us. Not voting and being no part of this World has at times had unexpected advantages, far too numerous. But in times of conflict, particular civil wars, our brothers have at times been spared because they were recognised for not taking sides.

Racism among us I can gladly claim it doesn't exist. Look into Apartheid in South Africa and that there was ZERO segregation among JWs, toilets and all in Kingdom Halls and when having three conventions a year (JWs are the most convention minded people in the World). We really did show the way. Remember the Ethiopian in Acts, he was black. Read Acts 10:34 "“For a certainty I perceive that God is not partial, in every nation the man that fears him and works righteousness is acceptable to him."

That brings us to health benefits, which are many and it does include abstinence from blood and any issues involved. We ALWAYS seem to get the best doctors. It has also benefitted society at large. Not to forget that the original name for JWs were International Bible Students Association and that is what we still EXACTLY are. In Latin America illiteracy is very high. The number is JWs now getting close to 2.5M - how many hundreds of thousands have learned to read and write by the Witnesses, we don't keep records as we are not looking for recognition but results.

I am lucky to be old enough to have spoken to survivors. In many cases the SS developed a lot of respect for them, some even trusting their children to them. If they don't make weapons even when life is at stake, they soon figured NOBODY was in any danger to them.
THEIR story is a remarkable as ANY of the 1st Century Christians sent to the Lions because they would not sprinkle and burn incense as part of Roman Emperor Worship.
But NEVER underestimate the BENEFITS that have been.

I hope you well on your studies. Despite the impression here on YouTube, there are plenty of independent information on the subject. If you look past the bad (the agenda is pretty obvious) and look at Jehovah's Witnesses in Germany - if there was ever an extra-ordinary story, it is there. Why did the SS put JWs in different barracks in concentration camps? That JWS would not make armaments of any sort in those camps even when threatened with death? Truly a miracle story.

If anybody ever threatens you with violence, you can safely conclude that person was NOT a Jehovah's Witness - and if you are ever attacked my armed troops, there will be no Witness among them.
The truth is that we are being treated in much the same way as the Roman Empire treated non-threatening 1st century CDhristians.

Very bad things are bhappening in your organization. People have died needlessly because they obeyed the WTS rulings on blood transfusions and organ transplants. It worries me greatly, how the Watchtower Society uses FEAR to keep its members under complete subjugation. Fear of Armageddon being their main weapon. Their message is effectively "Obey the Watchtower or God will kill you all at Armageddon"! Have you seen the illustrations in WT literature depicting Armageddon? Talk about mind control! I do not believe evrything I read or hear about JW's. I do my own independant research on them. My sources are very wide and varied. Can the same be said for JWs? No! Their one and only source is the WTS. Yet when we venture our views on the JW's, we instantly hear "LIAR"! I for one am sick and tired of hearing JWs scream "LIAR" everytime someone disagrees with them. Your JW version of the "truth" is different from the bibles version. @boyamIhappy Our bible may be different in that it put God's name=Jehovah back in about 7,000 times. Translators back hundreds of years ago took God's holy name out, substituting 'GOD' or 'LORD' instead. So then many generations never really got to know his name. Jesus taught us to PRAY for his name to be hallowed, or holy, sacred-Matthew 6:9,10. Knowing his name is essential for SALVATION! = Romans 10:13-15. So we are doing a most honorable thing in returning God's name to the sacred scriptures

I am a Christian with very strongly held views, which is how it's supposed to be. What sort of pathetic Christian would I be if I did not firmly hold to my bible based beliefs? my sister is a JW, hence why I know so much about them. I notice certain reactions from the JWs here that are so like my sister. Whenever I point out to my sister som ething she doesnt like, she will scream out in a purely venomous tone that I am a liar. Her face contorts, she screams at the top of her voice. She is quite frightening. I am sure that on the doors she is all sugar and spice. When the JWs on here call "LIAR" ( which is often ) are they inwardly screaming???

You may have repeated something that is a lie..and not known that it is a lie...this makes you a propagator of lies. I don't scream, or get irate..or even angry. Jehovah's Witnesses do not claim that they are the true religion...they do not claim anything. They just teach you the truth and that is "The Bible".
No one knows when the end of the world will be...only God knows, and that is what they teach.
JW may turn away from whatever bad influences there are, it's because of their desire to follow God...and I see nothing wrong with that.
I am Catholic but I firmly defend Jehovah's Witnesses... because I see nothing wrong with what they are teaching.

Jehovah's witness is not a cult...It's a community of people who share the same faith and beliefs. People who judge Jehovah's Witness have no idea about who they are... It's simply judging without knowing... and that's really sad.

For a religion claiming to be the truth, they certainly display some very worrying problems. The WTS has admitted their high suicide rate. Around the world JW's ( often elders ) are convicted of being pedophiles. Mental hospitals have a high percentage of JW's among their patients. The response from gullible JW's is aways "its a lie"! I do NOT hate JW's, on the contrary I LOVE them and I feel desperately sorry for them. JW's. the WTS is NOT the Truth...JESUS IS!

@brofun i feel so sorry for you. Please, research the history of the Watchtower from independent sources, NOT from WT literature. You will discover some very sobering truths about the WTS. They are not the innocent organization they claim to be. How many JWs have died when a blood transfusion or an organ transplant could have saved their life? Why so many JW elders convicted of being pedophiles, around the world? PLEASE open your eyes. You are lied to. The WTS is making millions from you all.

@boyamIhappy actually,, you are ;lied to. Sure, we have our problems..but they are not nearly as prolific as people like to publish on the web. Don't believe everything you read. And, they are now finding that many people die as a result of blood transfusions..and that many more are living who DON"T take blood. I personally wouldn't want the blood of another in my body. As for making millions on us?..that is silly. We are conducting the worlds largest educational work in history.

@brofun Please understand, I am not someone who hates JWs. I am a rational person who knows the history( and many other facts) about JWs. As a Christian, it annoys me knowing that the WTS is misleading millions of sincere people. The WTS has succeeded in nurturing a persecution complex in most JWs, so that you honestly believe that everyone who disagrees with you is "persecuting" you. I am a Christian who wants you to know the REAL TRUTH of Gods word.I genuinely LOVE the rank and file JWs.

@brofun Your grasp of English is evidently limited. I meant that the WTS nurtures a persecution complex within you all. If I disagree or dispute your beliefs, you immediately cry "persecution"! Yes, JWs have been persecuted in various lands, but so have Christians. As for using the divine name, if you do independent, unbiased research, you will discover that the name JEHOVAH is itself an invention, a corruption based on the tretragrammaten. No-one knows the real pronunciation.

Most theologians will admit that either yahweh, or yehowah is the closest hebrew pronunciation. But, the same can be said of jeremiah..joshua...Jesus, etc..there was no J in hebrew..but, those names are transliterated...so, the name Jehovah is the most known english transliteration of God's name. You say you only have to read God's word to know the truth? Read acts 8:26-40. Why did this man not get the truth from what he was reading?

If it is only by reading God's word..why did Jesus command his followers toi preach and teach and make disciples? Why would we have to teach if reading the bible is all that is required? As for 'self appointed'..that may be your opinion...however the bible doesn't support such an attitude toward those who are doing God's will. You may find yourself treating Christ's brothers with disrespect, which means that you are treating Christ the same way. matt 25:40

..because of the work we do. JWs have been imprisoned in nearly every country on earth for our neutral stand as reguards politics and war. In many countries, it is against the law for us to do our preaching and teaching work..and so, we have to accomplish it discreetly..and when caught, we are imprisoned, fined, our belongings taken, etc..that is persecution. Someone disagreeing with us is not persecution. If you want to know the real truth..feel free to ask me...but, are you interested...

Self appointed representatives of God, who claim to be directed by angels and sit in their ivory towers in Brooklyn, cannot teach me any real truths. You will teach me what they taught you from the WT mag, from which you repeat parrot fashion at your meetings. Yes, you will teach me, as long as I dont think independently.

Do you believe in the immortality of the soul?..do you celebrate holidays that honor and glorify demonic religious teachings? I find the real truth from Gods word, NOT WT publications! Your lives are controlled by old men who have lived their entire lives in isolation from the real world, never been married, never had family, never had a real job, never had to struggle with lifes daily problems because they are totally insulated from reality.

@boyamIhappy and we do not take tithes..we do not pass plates..we don't charge for our literature...we give free home bible studies to those who are interested..we spend over 1.6 billion hours a year now inthe preaching and teaching work..no one is making millions. The governing body live very simply as do the people who volunteer at bethel and other branches (my daughter is one of them) you have swallowed the koolaid of those who are enemies of the truth.

@brofun I never said anything about tithes. No, you dont charge for the literature, but the WTS ensures that it now gets paid TWICE for the same literature. You yourself are pressured into paying for the lit in the first place, then when the householder contributes for the lit, you MUST give that to the WTS also. The WTS is making $trillions, annually. This from a society that claims to be non-profit making.The GB do have modest apartments in Brooklyn. They also privately own mansions.

But, we DO appreciate the literature very much..and appreciate what a help it is in our work. As for you comment about 'trillions'?..that is pure exaggeration. And no, they do not own mansions. @.rofun Going back to the WTS owning mansions purely for the benefit of the GB. Have you not heared of Beth Sarim? A mansion, owned by the WTS where Judge Rutherford ( self appointed "judge") would spend his winter months, with the use of two Cadillacs...cheauffeur driven! Whilst his fellow Americans lived in poverty and struggled to feed their families through the great depression. Beth Sarim was tied in with another prophecy that failed to come true, much to the WTS embarassment.

@boyamIhappy Yes, I'm very well aware of beth sarim. it was bought for rutherford for his declining health. And I'm aware that at one time there was a mistaken belief that a prophecy concerning the resurrection of the partriarchs (noah, abraham, david, etc) would happen in 1925. Some say the mansion was bought for that reason. I have not found any definitive evidence on that. Rutherford was told by his doctors he had to live in a dry and temperate climate to stave off his illness...

San Diego was chosen..and that is where beth serim was. AS for cars?..I'm not sure of that either..surely he needed a car. As for a driver?..there is no doubt that he was not alone in san diego..so, if another brother drove him..that doesn't mean anything. As for the great depression, that didn't begin until 1929. I'm not sure of the dates when the mansion was bought..or when he went there to live. AS for being embarrassed? We struggle to understand prophecy..and we have made mistakes..

However, I know of no other religion or people who come close to Jeohvah's witnesses for believing the truths of the bible..for doing God's will...for refusing to kill their fellow man..for making God's name known, etc. Again..who do YOU think is teaching the truth about God?

I don't see why some think we're bad people. We help promote peace. We don't keep hidden from society, we don't fight. This is absurd. We don't kill people like other religions. Why don't you see the evil in the OTHER religions??? What are they doing to help their neighbor and promote peace. Please read the Bible. Do others love neighbor as self as Jesus taught?

There are six steps someone must go through in order to called a Jehovah's Witness. 1. A genuine desire to learn about God's purpose. 2. Study God's word. 3. Bring your life in harmony with God's standards. 4. Repent of anything that goes again God's standards. 5. Dedicate your life to Jehovah in prayer. In effect you disown your life and give it to Jehovah to do his will. 6. Baptism is a formal dedication.
Nobody whose baptized and called a Jehovah's Witness is brainwashed.

@naygpogi Satan is a liar. He uses slander to twist the truth-the good things about JWs. I would call these persecutors "demons" in the sense they invade their minds with hatred targeted for JWs. Thank goodness all this is temporary. Soon the wicked ones will be no more. See Psalms chp 37. We continue to help our neighbors and ignore demonistic propaganda.

At some point in the near future the US and Britain is going to give its combined power to the United Nations. The very first thing the UN is going to do is launch an all out assault on the world empire of false religion. Why? "For God put [it] into their hearts to carry out his thought." It's divine retribution for "her sins" that "have massed together clear up to heaven." (verse 5)

@allonblack187 At the same time this is going to mark the beginning of what Jesus called the great tribulation at Matthew 24:21. At that time Jesus is going to sit down on his glorious throne and judge people as they are. Did they listen and respond to the good news about God's Kingdom? Right then and there he will separate people into two groups: sheep and goats. (Matthew 25:31-33) When that time comes you won't be able to adjust the outcome. The verdict will be law. Serious business.
