I used to think afi sucked. Of course the only song I ever heard was miss murder. All Hallows E.P, Art of Drowning, and Black Sails are good releases though.

AFI was, and still is so unique in their musical style (Black Sails/AoD era especially). I've been thinking of throwing a band together, and I've thought of how to be unique, but I can't even fathom how AFI came to be so naturally unique and powerful in what they do... It makes me appreciate just how awesome AFI is

Ahhhhh... AFI during the horrorpunk phase. Great album. This band is like a Kafka story. The guys are really cool, my boy makes em veggie meals whenever they blow thru here. F all the haters, I've dug em since they were straight hardcore, love the way they change. Don't sleep on Art of Drowning if you like this LP.

It's amazing that AFI got progressively better by the album. Not many bands can keep up such a streak for so long.

I know AFI still has this kickassness within them, they're just putting out lazy bullshit to make money. A comback album would be amazing. Probably better than Black Sails, eh? That would be landmark.

@HoosierMF They've played songs from the mid 90s at shows recently. Of course, not many, but they have. They sound much better doing then now than they did back in the day. The only problem is that, as you said, they are complete sellouts. Maybe their loss of true fans will eventually get to them. I don't know. Now that they're big, anything can happen. It's very hard to get a sellout band to make music that doesn't sell. Good old fashoned greed.
