@shonzis Lisa Lopez was the star she played Celestina Cruz,I thought I saw it on SNY New York or some New York channel in New York City,New York's got alot of different Spanish channels on local TV and on local cable aswell,LATV I thought would carry it since it's a digital local Latino channel all over America,if you live in New York City you've seen it,you'll see it out there :)

Siempre sone de ser un trabajo en puro tex-mex. Nunca hubo actores or un crew que estaba interested in this type of production. My family es de Raymondville Tx donde se habla el tex-mex puro.

Thanks for posting ! Some Mexicans do not like us till this day . Once while attending college this rich Mexican lady student called and tried to insult me by calling be Chico Ano . Such is life and when I am around Mexican Nationals they still stick themselves and do not trust us . I think the reason is beacause they lost their land to the USA and they still say part of this country belongs to them .

Thank you for your comments! Yes I too have been discriminated by our own people from Mexico that live in the U.S. (mostly the wealthy Mexicans that live in the U.S.)

Maybe they dont like the fact that we were born in America and we are bilingual.

ECP777,Yes that is part of the reason for the discrimination . They still do not Native persons and make fun of them and think it's and intelligent and the Natives do not like our new race because we remind them of the Spanish blood that we carry . That happens all over the earth's people who have been defeated .

I hope this soap opera doesn't have a Mexican

illlegal immigrant slant/agenda because frankly i am tired of this so,called Tejanos

being sympathetic to the blatent disregard for

the law. I am a true Tejano and one of my priorities is to keep Texas for the law abiding,no matter where they come from.

P.S. Can some one please tell me where the heck the word Chicano originated from. Tejanos are from TEXAS, Mexicans are from MEXICO, are Chicanos from CHICAGO??????

The word was used after The Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo, when Mexico lost to the US several states which included California, Nevada, etc. The Mexican citizens that lived in those states before the war,were now part of theUS and became citizens. They decided to drop the letters M & E from Mexicanos and the word Xicanos was born. Since the letter X is pronounced "ch" in the spanish language, the word eventually started to be spelled "Chicano.

jajaja. Chicano is a mexican american no matter where he was born. But depending the state were u live they call mexican americans in different ways. They also call Chicanos as "pocho", but basically we are all chicanos.
