@parkfight,Yeah the trick is in the finish.You have to get it just right or your opponent escapes whereas in an armbar for instance you can take time to adjust the angle once you secure the arm.I can get to leg locks I've just always had trouble finishing them.I've heard alot of BJJ coaches preach against them because they believe you have to give up position to go for them.I do agree unless you're really good with leglocks.
Along with Karate, I'm a big fan of Sambo.

I think sambo is well tested and really effective, but I find difficult to apply such a technique in a contest or even worst in a street...
