"Tinariwen" is the plural of "Ténéré" and the word "Ténéré" means desert but not only desert, also "country" or "countryside" the group has being together since 1979 and were living in Tamanrasset in the south of algeria. then after a complex sequence of events they came back to mali to fight a rebellion in 1990.
wow i am so thankful many people like my country of Algeria music, so nice to see music has no borders or race, and thanks all of you for nice words about my music from my country , this is an old group and like are so famouse for us, cause they sing about peace, joy, and sorrow times
Ibrahim AG ALHABIB aka 'Abaraybone' -- Lead Vocals & Lead Guitar
The man who invented the Tamashek electric guitar style whilst a young in Tamanrasset in Southern Algeria. The inspiration and the source of the whole Tinariwen story. tuareg are amazigh like myself we are of the berber(amazigh)tribes, so that was not nice to be rude unless u know really the history of our country and music, and people algeria is a mix of all
that is so sad that u have no knowledge of what algeria really is to us amazighs maybe one day you could go visit our wonderful country and people and then may you go all over our great africa and experiance a peace and oness many of us feel :)
I really enjoy their music. So different from everything else i've heard in my life. Yet strangely familiar now and then. Some sort of pre-americanized blues. With sand. And camels.
Cette chanson est absolument superbe!!!!!!
