I think Fiona's rendition of the song conveys the song's intended meaning. I mean, she sounds so entirely...hopeless. Which is why Sally sings this. She just feels so utterly hopeless. Fiona didn't go out of her way to sing it in a melodramatically cliche fashion. It ifts. It's very very good.

I love Amy's and Fiona's. Amy sings it with so much emotion, while Fiona is kinda lazy while singing. But thyat laziness in her voice gives the song a feeling. Both versions are amazing and i can't pick a favorite out of the two. I love them both.

I love all the versions of Sally's Song for different reasons, but I've always had a fondness for Fiona's cover because it seems the most realistic to me. The others tend to be filled with emotion and sadness. But Fiona's sounds dead. And that's a good thing. A person with a broken heart doesn't sing sadly. They sing despondently.  And that's how Fiona's sounds here. Despondent. Crushed. Melancholy.

O'Hara's version of the song is a lot more emotional, as in the movie...but I feel that this version also has its strengths. To me, it seems a lot darker and more cynical. I like both versions very much, however.

I personally don't like this version. In the original version of 'Sally's Song,' Catherine O'Hara injects a lot of emotion into her voice, she really sounds sad and lonely. In this version, in contrast, Fiona just sounds bored! However, on the plus side, I REALLY like the background music in this version, especially the beautiful use of strings and drums @ 1:55-2:23 and the last 30 seconds of the song. It's lovely, and fits with the movie quite well.

I do believe this song perfectly fits the Cloud/Tifa pairing-no matter how much she wants him, it just is not happening. Though Sally got Jack in the end, Tifa never got Cloud. Probably not in Dirge of Cerberus either.
