There once was a higher than average girls to boys ratio at UoN. Since then, the reputation that the girls outnumber the boys has grown year on year. I'm afraid or glad to confirm that this is just a rumour and that is all! Look out for Comfort Lettings when you do arrive, as ex students of the University we now provide some of the best accommodation for students in the area.
@moca1990 There is no crime and no shootings happening in Nottingham. The only reason it got famous as Shottingham was because in 2004 there was a high crime and shooting rate in Nottingham. Since then however it has become 'normal' like all major cities in London. And the university itself is awesome and just like a normal uni. Forget the rumours.
Definitely dig the video. I've just applied to Nottingham Uni as a transfer student. I'm wondering if you can speak to the nightlife and campus in general. I guess, something about the university experience. I go to Dickinson College in the states and its a real downer, the "student union" isn't really active at all, and theres almost nothing to do in the town. Cheers.
Hi... I was a student at Notts for about 5 yrs. So I'm VERY familiar with it's social life. It's the place to be if you want some fun student life and of course great insightful learning! Colourful Student Union with loads of events, socials and sports to suite whatever you like from beginner to expert. During the first couple of years I lived on Jubilee Campus and had a really wild Fresher's Week. Decent town, infested with about 40,000 students.
@RedForLife11 Hey, what are you studying? I'm going to Notts in September, too. Its like the most popular university of the UK campus-wise and has the greenest campus in Europe. Also it has one of the most applicants every year. Night life is awesome in Nottingham. Not necessarily on campus (The Den, which is a club, is not that popular I heard), but there are loads of awesome clubs in the town, which is not far away. You can take a bus to town for around £1-£1.60 depending on the bus you take..
@kami645464 I plan on studying International Relations or IR and Spanish combined (assuming I get that conditional changed to an unconditional) :D. You?
Whey hoping to go there next year, not liking my polish uni much. Cheers for the video, at least I can show my parents just where Im planning to run away to. (;
It's a cool university. I was there for about 4 years. It's "very" friendly to international students. A great mix of working hard and playing harder... All the best...
@moca1990 probably back at the student digs stealing their steros ;O)
There are not really any chavs around most areas where students live (near the university), all the houses are student houses. I know I live round there, In the student holidays it is pretty deserted around here.
The chavs are on council estates where the students don't live.
hello!! i'm from Greece and i'm going to study at nott uni next year! can someone tell me how long it takes for someone to go from nottingham to london?
If you take the train, then it takes about 2.5 hours (meaning 2:30minutes), but if you take the coach/bus it may take about 3 to 3:30 hours, because of traffic. Hope u enjoy Nottingham

yep... Portland should have been included... But also the new Gateway building on Jubilee and the millenium gardens are quite cool too...
