mambo was created by the black slaves in latin america FACT!! HIP HOP IS CREATED BY BLACKS FACT!!!!!!!!!!!! Blacks have created every piece of revolutionary music genre.... FACT
It had originated some where else but what NEW YORK did was made it FRESH kid! New York...Oye salude pa la genete del barrio... Awesome. Every Latino should watch this video.
Feb.1, 2011 This film is screening this weekend at a Hip Hop exhibition, lectures and art show at the amazing Musical Instrument Museum in Phoenix, AZ (known as MIM). Great to see hip-hop culture coming to big venues that reach many kinds of people.
Respond to this video... Of course the cubans also contributed to hip hop.....hip hop its a great I must say (combonation)of cultures of some particular countries man!!!everybody knows that.!!
This is real interesting! I was reading a post about this on Global Grind's MySpace Blog page, it's a really great site, saves me mad time!! Anyways, about the video: A lot of times in hip-hop you see Latinos and African Americans coming from similar upbringings and sharing some of the same experiences. Even in the urban culture in general. It would be nice to see the birth of hip-hop from a completely Latino perspective, especially from the South Bronx.
it's etruscan actually, hispanic is a blapshomy against minerva(be specific & proud)...try mambo dancing in rome or spain back in the days & you would have been burnt for heresy
i like it it is sad and it reminds me of my friend that saddly was killed last year because of reading chain letters and now that you have read this eshe will slowly kill you by everytime you hear a ring in your ear she will make your life shorter by a day post this on five different vidios to be saved sorry
I saw this at Lincoln Center and at the end of the showing they had some of the dancers from the film come up and speak and take a bow. What really stayed with me was how just by being who you are and doing what you love you can create a tremendous impact on those around you at the time and for those who will follow. It was very touching, meaningful and inspiring to see all of them lined up on the stage representing what they love.
MAMBO IS CUBAN MUSIC, TO KNOW WELL, the GRANDPARENTS TRANSMITS and teaches to THEIR CHILDREN AND FAMILY, is not born of the AIR. TO BE MAS EXACT SOCIOLOGISTS.
It is basically a mixture of ancient and pre-slave era African (I'm Mexican) ritual dances continued in the carribean islands when ex-patriated slaves were brought there from the U.S. There they continued their ritualistic dances and worships which were later glamourized throughout the 30's untill the late 70's through latin carribean musicsians on stage, and yes mambo was one of those genres...
Oh, yeah!! Oh, yeah! God Only Knows how I questioned and challenged my own prejudices and assumptions I had to deal with and change my own way of thinking and perceiving about people and the virtue withing despite external circumstances. This is DEFINITELY something I gotta see. There's no question about it.
