Romania had that land before the Austro-Hungarian took it, we just took it back... and Romania is the place where most historians believe the first "modern" human (as we are today) settled and 'took form', so even from that viewpoint the (unofficial) Romanian people owned much of the land in the Balkans and surrounding areas before there were even many people living in the continent of Europe and before basic politics were even established.

And since we Romanians are descended from the Romans and the Dacians, we had it first. And much more land too. The Hungarians are mostly descended from Turks, who came later knocking on our door much after we were established as a nation, during.

Today I deliberateky searched about Romania. I had guessed it right, it is splendid country. I am not sure as if now, but hope the knowledge driven economy will propell next wave of growth in eastern europe and Romania is right there to encash it. The task is that Romanians need to face the fact and their emotions of robbing parts that had nothing to do with Romania. Hungarians are about ready with this work, but Romanians have just not begun with it. Winning and overvinning is, I have to say, the SAME in difficultness that losing, and requires the SAME effort to make things smooth and calm your soul again.

I also think that Romanians are friendly and proud and this is good and I wish Hungarians were similar in this sense. The only thing what is bad is the Romanian feelings to Hungarians. @juliosastre I never had a problem with Hungarians until the ones I've met wouldn't shutup about Transylvania and wouldn't stop being assholes. I didn't say you didn't influence Transylvania, you've been there for a long time, but we also have history there and currently control it, now Hungarians are a minority there, as Romanians are minorities in other areas of our own influence. The Russians took Moldavia from us, many Romanians also live in Serbia, etc.

Romanians likely originated in Macedonia and Albania, and came to Romania around 1200 (I know how different thing is thought but that is a lie). Just read "Ardealul Timpurie" by professor Kristo. Many localitates even in Moldavia have originaly Hungarian names...

They've simply called themselves 'Romanians' later on. After the union of Dacians with Romans, and with the fusion between the Latin language and Dacian language, the Romanian language was born, and until today, it preserves the purest form of Latin words today.
@BorzaMaria I know the daco-romana hypothesis and this is what may be not true. Roman language is latin in part (but dominantly has slavic words; Alexandru de Cihac says), but this is not evidence for residence. I see no evidence (nor archeology, neither etimology) for Roman continuity in "Dacia" between 400-1200. There is evidence for Goth, Gepida, Hun, Avar, Beshenew, Kun, Uz, Hungarian inhabitants. For continuity, this is the weakest link. If it fails then late migration theory wins...:)

It has other influences (after latin) such as greek, turkish, and german(ic languages). And yes, even some Hungarian.. but the vast majority of the language is latin-based and globally-recognized as a Romance language. It is extremely close to Italian as well as Spanish and French. And about 'the evidence for residence,' there is proof in many places in

I didn't say you didn't influence Transylvania, you've been there for a long time, but we also have history there and currently control it, now Hungarians are a minority there, as Romanians are minorities in other areas of our own influence. The Russians took Moldavia from us, many Romanians also live in Serbia, etc.

@Hagibest Hopefuly you do not think I am an asshole, e.g. currently I started learning Romanian. I also know the Romanian majority of the detached Transylvania, and had remarks about the details. Even, I have Serbian, Macedonian and Croatian friends and we try to get to a "real" view of history together.
But I just cannot imagine how Romanians keep fighting against Hungarians in soul, also in their anthem (where we are the barbar tyrans), and I am saying that this is pathological.

@juliosastre fair enough. And yes clearly there's much animosity between us but there are pros and cons on both sides if you know what I mean. And yeah, there was a chance of Transylvania remaining independent from both countries at one point (the Kingdom of Transylvania). I'm interested in knowing what you think about the most famous Romanian princes/kings, Vlad Tepes and Mihai Viteazu

@juliosastre basically the balkans is a huge melting pot, so many ethnicities have caused many problems over the years, a lot of it because of the breakdown of yugoslavia. it used to only be Dacians, Greeks, Romans etc, but then the Slavs and Turks came and broke it all down now there are so many problems because of this. maybe we should all just stop fighting and keep it the way it is. @Hagibest I admit that Romanians argue with the suspected Urali and Turkish origin of Hungarians and they say they should not be here. :O Anyhow happened, we ARE here since 1200 years or so, and this argument is contrfactual. Romanians likely originated in Macedonia and Albania, and came to Romania around 1200 (I know how different thing is thought but that is a lie). Just read "Ardealul Timpurie" by professor Kristo. Many localitates even in Moldavia have originaly Hungarian names...

@juliosastre Umm no, Romanians did not originate in Macedonia and Albania. They did not "come" to Romania around 1200 either. Romanians have ALWAYS lived on the land of Dacia. They've simply called themselves 'Romanians' later on. After the union of Dacians with Romans, and with the fusion between the Latin language and Dacian language, the Romanian language was born, and until today, it preserves the purest form of Latin words today.

@BorzaMaria I know the daco-romana hypothesis and this is what may be not true. Roman language is latin in part (but dominantly has slavic words; Alexandru de Cihac says), but this is not evidence for residence. I see no evidence (nor archeology, neither etimology) for Roman continuity in "Dacia" between 400-1200. There is evidence for Goth, Gepida, Hun, Avar, Beshenew, Kun, Uz, Hungarian inhabitants. For continuity, this is the weakest link. If it fails then late migration theory wins...:)

@juliosastre I speak Italian and French and I have to disagree with that statement :P Romanian is mostly latin and actually little slavic... It has other influences (after latin) such as greek, turkish, and german(ic languages). And yes, even some Hungarian.. but the vast majority of the language is latin-based and globally-recognized as a Romance language. It is extremely close to Italian as well as Spanish and French. @juliosastre So even the language itself proves that it was impossible for Romanians to have migrated in Romania from somewhere else, since the Romanian dialect in Albania, for instance, is quite different, and has had a different forming process than that of the 'true' Romanian language. Though I commend your interest in this. :)

@Hagibest Clear, but with this logic, you could argue to occupy entire Hungary right now. Hungarians will still remain in a minority so their country is rightfuly Romania. :). Also, I think you just cannot tell a single argument why Carei, Oradea, Salonta, Satu Mare had been decided to be part of Romania, not Hungary.
Secler land is also a so-so. May be the Transylvanists had right, mixed part of Transylvania could have remained a separate country of 3 major nations, just like Swiss.
