  • @automotiveDIY the motors arent the same. if you did that you would need the old style heads thus defeating the benefit of adding any power with heads that makes 40 hp less.

  • @automotiveDIY No it wouldnt have been faster.man this is a kit for the twin intake port per cylinder v6 engines. its simply a plate you bolt on your lower intake and then bolt the M112 blower to. The thunderbird sc has an older "single intake port per runner cylinder head" it therefore he would have had to change the lower intake and heads,which do you think is faster now.and even if your way of using the sc stuff was cheaper ,the car would make half the power the M112 blower can.

    The reason I ask that you only have about 50% belt wrap there? Owning an '03 Cobra I know that without some type of upper idler the Eatons are prone to slip. With that said the 3.6" pulley on that Eaton, is probably big enough to do with that amount of wrap. Awesome that you're able to get a manifold made for the 6. Did you fab it yourself, or is there a kit made?

  • @rishi65 its not being spun fast enough for belt slip to be an issue, on my cobra it was till i was over spinning the eaton until it started to slip. it was custom made when i did it years ago, they were in the process of marketing a kit but i havent kept up on it since i finished the project.

    I'm trying to figure out how he fit that supercharger to the intake of the V6. I didn't think that was possible. I always saw the VORTEC S/Cs on V6's because nobody could retro-fit the V8 intake manifold for compatibility to the V6's! I think he's just running a dual setup to the back. Looks like 2.25" tubes by the swift look of it. Open to corrections! :)

  • you can buy a factory supercharger from prestige mustang. com and you can get the adapter intake plenum from super six motor sports. com to go on your 3.8l. the overall power gain would be about 100hp to a v6.

  • i got supercharger from 2004 mustang cobra. putting it in my G35 coupe.got all the pulleys,intake.new fuel pump.exhaust. do u think i need 2replace injectors????what else do u think i need 2 get to make the engine run good.did u have 2 get new injectors for your mustang???Thank you.

  • @romanich12 dont go over 10lbs and you should be fine, also keep an eye on air temps after the blower because they will get very hot. i dont know what injectors come stock in that car but if it wasnt designed for boost its probably going to need bigger ones. talk with a tuner or some one that mods those cars to learn more, i just dont know anything about them..

  • @romanich12 Any time you upgrade to forced air induction it is advise to upgrade the injectors for maximum performance and that kind of boost could blow your factory injectors you also would need a tuner upgrade so the computer will know were the extra boost is coming from

  • @romanich12 Stillen has a great Supercharger kit that you should take a look at for some idea's as to what you need to do to complete your kit.

    Stillen's G35 SC kit has a lower intake adapter with a heat exchanger hidden in it and of course all of the plumbing and front mount heat exchanger needed and everything else you would need.

  • Hellz, you must not know much about cars. It is cammed and has a supercharger...what makes you think it'd get better gas mileage than the v8 lol. And not only that, stock for stock the v6 is only rated at 3 more mpg on the highway than the gt.

  • @zo0yoRk69 i have to disagree. i did a convoy with a guy with a GT (same year) and when we would stop for gas mine was still half full. we were stopping at a 1/4 tank. plus i have a turbo and all he had was LT headers, O/R X pipe and Borla side exhaust.

  • @meifert2 city driving, (stop and go) i believe it. ive had a v6 bird and now my v8 bird and they both got almost the same mileage on the highway (when it was stock). even now with the cam, ported heads and tune its not that bad unless im running over 85mph. but what i meant was if a boosted v6 and a stock v8 are out runnin them hard they will get about the same mpgs, gotta use gas to go fast.

  • @da2k17 that is very very depressingly true, i bought my mustang too early, i got an 09 v6 and ive been working on it as a track car, all i have is CAI, Headers, Duals, TB, and a 100 shot of nitrous, i only make about 300 to the wheels, the new 2011 GT with that ran 10 flats.....i regretted buying my car the second i saw that, not to mention it gets better than my 17.7 mpg average.......

  • @wignigeater honestly havent tried. i picked up an 03 cobra and the v6 has been sitting in my garage for over a year, it gets driven like once a month. when i finish working on the cobra ill will eventually finish the v6, get it tuned etc., i just dont know when that will be. i do know that another guy with an identical setup ran a 12.4 1/4 mi so it shouldnt have a problem with mild modded gt's

  • the blower is from the 03-04 cobra. the setup is completely built from scratch. a lot of custom parts.

  • the entire engine would, the supercharger doesnt but you would need to make a plenum

  • The M90 (T-bird Blower) Will fit on your 97 3.8 but i'd recommend doing a complete swap from a 94-95 Tbird SC because the pistons in the T-bird are forged and the heads can handle the extra heat. If you decide just to slap on the blower u WILL need the computer.

  • if you wana m90 you 97 you better off getting a donor car your going to need A LOT of stuff

  • yes but super coupe engines had some forged parts so the whole thing will make it safe, is it necessary? no but will be safer. if replacing the while engine yes the ecu will be needed. it only using the blower and other stuff just a tune will do.

  • WHAT YOU DO 2 GET THAT EXHAUST SOUND

  • do you have many problems with belt slip when on highish boost?...fitting an eaton to my 347 shortly, and will have to run the normal width belt like you have.

  • Im only on 5psi so there is no issue. some guys are running up to 14 and they have had some problems. depending on your boost level i would suggest taking the time to build a custom idler like the cobras have to help with belt wrap. or if you really want a pain in the ass, swap all the pulleys to 8 rib, the crank will be a real challenge.

  • ah yeah.... well i was going to make a plate mounted between the 2 accessory brackets with 2 idler pulleys to aid belt wrap anyway.....

    id imagine i will be running about 10psi, maybe 12, my eaton has a billetflow quick change pulley kit with a 2.76" pulley

  • I can see why it would slip. This set up is so scary. I wouldn't recommend anyone running an upper cooling hose in between the serpentine belt. Play safe. Good luck.

  • i plan on getting one eventually, the v6 bumper looks terrible with dual exhaust.

    definitely worth it, just need a built motor to unleash its full potential.

  • if you going to keep the V6 take as much weight you can off the car, as you supercharge your ride.

    If you pick to go with the V8 you are still going to end up supercharging it or turbocharging it.
