Thats probably a standard woofer. All subwoofers are just a regualr woofer wick thicker surrounds. I have a little woofer, and it plays very low freq pretty well
it's too bad you did the test with a square or pulse wave. makes the test invalid since what you're hearing are 2nd order harmonics and higher.
to be a true test you need a pure sine wave. then if you hear anything at all it's got to be artificially generated harmonics from that little speaker which isn't capable of creating any audible output below around 90hz and even then only in a perfectly tuned ported enclosure.
People! Please learn what a subwoofer is. Anything under 8" or 10" is TOO small to be considered a true subwoofer. They cannot move enough air to hit low frequencies.
Ya know, pretty much any speaker can PLAY 20Hz, but they don't properly reproduce them. Do you understand buddy?
This does NOT move enough air to be considered a Subwoofer... Just a fact of life man. Look it up. Do some research. You'll go further in life with research.
Yeah, keep changing the subject... That's what people do when they are proven wrong.
When you understand how frequencies work, THEN comment. Until then, shut the fuck up. You're annoying and clueless how sound works.
I mean, you can't even give me a good example, you have to exaggerate specs to TRY to prove your point. Which in turn, makes you look like a bigger idiot.
Maybe if the 4" speaker had like 6" of excursion it might come close to 20 Hz... LOL!
What? Have you tried 20 hz through a dome tweed? have you put 15000khz through a driver? Have you not heard of cross overs and natural roll offs?
Not every speaker can play every hz, the level of output has nothing to do with what a particular speaker can reproduce, the level of out put is rated at 1 watt at 1 meter, has fuck all to do with reproducing frequencies.
There is no driver or mid or tweed that can reproduce 20-20000, it takes at the very least, 2 of them.
@DecibellSweden Ok I am getting called out buy a guy whom thinks a 4inch driver is a sub, nonetheless, how dense do you have to be to suggest a woofer can reproduce 20000khz freq, are u an ididot,? do you know what a speaker does to reproduce sound, a 10inch woofer is not going to be able to go back and forth 20thousand times a second, it defys physics., your exact words were"every speaker can play at every hz" but some how im the moron, keep up the good work, you master Audiophile.
@DecibellSweden You mean a dome can catch fire on 20hz. You don't get anything from a dome at 20hz, dismantle some dome tweeters, have a look, there is no way that thinner than a human hair wire can handle 20hz.
And it is impossible for a woofer to create super high frequencies, think of a crossover, you use a coil/inductor to roll off high frequencies, and what does a 3" subwoofer coil work like? A inductor. So you won't get anything probably above 15000hz with a woofer.
@DecibellSweden ok, lets say you put 20kw into a woofer to get it to play 20khz. That amount of power without any excursion to aid cooling will blow it instantly, so even if you got a few cycles, does it really count? Same goes for the tweeter, killed really really quick from the 20hz tone. probably won't even get a full cycle.
Still, even if it can, because of the damage it would sustain, why bother?
@DecibellSweden I'm talking about a proper woofer, like a 3000 watt RMS 18" not some sissy 8" thing. And I'm meaning usable sound, why bother if the sound is barely audible?
If the response is say 40db down at 20khz and every double in power is 3db more then I'm pretty sure you need 20,000 watts RMS.
BTW, it's spelled specs not speccs. So it would seem I have been reading them!
@bassl0va Sigh.. lets say you win this one. Even thou the p300 is a propper 18" and not a 8". And having to argue about spelling, just a sign of desperation. Remember, I Said They could, not that it WAS good.. apart from that.. I give you This victory of Nothing, so that the rest of us dont need to hear anymore..
12 inches cant play down to 20 Hz?...thats non sense...12" subs have no problem going to 20 and Lower...and its not impossible for a Small Cone to Reproduce a Low Note Like 20 Hz...it is a Bit Harder because the Cone is lighter in weight though.
Looks like a Vifa unit to me? A midbass though, not a minature sub. Should sound good in a proper box used as a midbass in a (most likely) 2 way system :)

You win nothing... Maybe the big idiot award, that's about it.
We aren't talking about headphones here buddy... This video is NOT of headphones, correct?
Look, pretty much around 40 Hz and below isn't sound, it's the air movement. It's what you feel, NOT what you hear.
Speakers smaller than usually 10" do NOT create enough air movement to "feel" the bass.
How can you NOT understand that?
Again, most speakers will "play" 20 Hz, but not be audible, or create enough air movement. Get it?
Site4Animation 2 years ago 3
Also, the Elac speakers you're talking about aren't very good speakers.
It has TWO 115 mm "subs" in it, push pull configuration... And they are fucking COMPUTER SPEAKERS!
Also, you lied... There "specs" (since they are probably bullshit) say they only get down to 36 Hz... Not the 20 you said.
Caught you in a lie. Sucks to be you, eh?
Loser.
I win... Again.

Every speaker can play at every Hz, its just the level of output that differs..

@KAISERKRAUT And you didnt read or understand it all..
A dome can reproduce 20Hz, just at a minimal OUTPUT.
Moron, I didnt say that any speaker can give you a 20-20k at +-3dB.
Read up before you open up..

@bassl0va Its a shame that you take it all litteraly and try to explain it. I said that It can, nothing about how much or how good the sound is.
A 18G50 can give you a 20Khz tone, not a high one but it can, and yes I have tried.
I am not saying that this is the way you should use or work it , I am just saying that you can. Enough?
DecibellSweden 1 year ago
@DecibellSweden I'm not saying that you are saying that that is how you should use it (does that make sense?).
It would be nice for you to prove that you can get 20khz from a woofer though, can you make a video to prove me wrong?
bassl0va 1 year ago
@bassl0va Sigh..
If you knew "that" much of speakers that you are trying to make us belive, you should already know that a woffer can give you 20Khz.¨
I bet you never have taken a look at some curves or simmilar.
Example is the g50 then, 20Khz is about 40dB output..
Its not much, but it still is sound..
And making a video of it? Just read some speccs and you should know already..
DecibellSweden 1 year ago
